The problem is it’s covered with slippery wet moss and there’s nothing to really grab onto. I definitely saw the possibility of another way up but it was definitely too risky and not worth it. But let me know how it goes I definitely want to hear about it.
We took the non abandoned trail in with the intention of crossing the river and taking the abandoned trail back... we hit the river at 9pm and then realized it was too high to cross and there were no rock hops... so we had to back track 3.5 miles to come back the normal way... and then another 3.5 to the garden. We got back at like 1 or 2.... sucked lol
I have been watching most of your hikes and slide-climbs. I've been wondering if you have given any thought to the actual cost of bringing along a light rock-helmet and even wearing it when things get dicey ? I know I'm going to be bringing my rock-helmet to say Grace slide and Nippletop slide if I get to those. My rock helmet is very light and probably worst aspect would be hanging it behind pack and it snagging during bush-wacks.
I was under the impression this was an easy slide but after your video I am questioning that belief. What’s the easiest slide in the adk besides the Macomb slide?
Did you see how flipping Steep that was when I turned the camera to the side walking off that slide. When he’s looking down at me it doesn’t even look like it’s a big deal and then you realize I’m climbing a freaking wall
@@BrianHikesAllDay That was f'n STEEP! I took a slip and slide down Blood Mountain in Georgia last year - missed the blaze and had that "This can't be right" feeling. As soon as I made the decision to go back to the last blaze, my feet went out from under me. I went down about 30 feet on my pack/ass in a second. I lay there wondering what the f just happened and then I realized the sound I heard was my water and poles still going. Probably another 50 feet. While that doesn't sound like much, on STEEP bald, wet granite, it's a long f'n way! I got 'em...and lived to tell the tale.Going to watch more of your Terrifying 25 today! Can't wait to be further inspired!
Some stretches look really fun to go butt sliding down during the winter.
Dude with those calves daaaaaaaamn
What about the deal with the balls so big he needs to wear a hoodie upside down to carry it
Awesome video! Insane slide hike! XXL on the hoodie…😆
Hahaha
Absolutely loved this hike, John’s brook off the abandoned has the coolest swimming holes!
It was sooo freaking fun!!!!
Good job guys
That slide climb is crazy and a very long slide to crazy crazy
Have you seen my Santanoni slide from last fall I posted? That is such a damn good slide and blog.
I climbed this a few years ago, it was a great time
What an incredible trail. It’s just carved straight out of the side of the mountain, hundreds of feet across.
Right?!?! Mind blowing
New backpack attachment money maker: sling that hangs help carry the big balls.
Yes!!! Ball hanger
Oh man, I can't wait to climb this! I will definitely be trying to climb that vertical section starting around 21:40 as it looks quite tough.

Funny that you mention it, yeah I’m actually going to start probably bringing a helmet with me for next season.
I know Tony purchased a helmet and I have a nice little carbon fiber one I use for skydiving so I’m probably gonna wear my skydiving helmet lol
Nice. A little excited, were you?
Every time I’m on a slide I’m floating on cloud nine with happy hormones

This is the easiest slide. Jeff and I were just trying to climb higher than normal. Most people exit below. This is definitely the easiest slide.
Today - Bennies Brook Slide!
Tomorrow - Free soloing El Cap!
Wear a hoodie upside down for your balls...classic!
