    I appreciate that you were able to put out a rap that you wrote. I feel like for a lot of people (including me) it’s hard to put things you created into the world. For me is because I’m afraid of what people might think, and maybe they won’t like it. I think it’s awesome that you made something, and were brave enough to put it out there. There will always be someone who won’t like it, but it’s cool that you took that risk anyway. The tips in the video were helpful, and I wanted to say thanks for all the work you put in to making videos.

That blows my mind! It's all about creating your art and for any person to do this I have respect for . So great job :)

    It was so interesting!
    Do not take it as an offence, but you made me realise how a great artist is actually REALLY good in what he does, the difference between you and Tyler both in rapping and writing is, let me say it, incredibly large, MORE than what I expected! I think the big difference is in the pauses between the words. When you take a pause longer than a quarter note it feels like you break the flow of the rapping; in fact in migraine's rap there's no quarter pauses.
    That's so cool! Thank you for the video.

    This is hilarious! I'm gonna be honest: you do look a bit dorky. But in a good way, if that makes any sense. As a dork myself, I like seeing fellow dorks, who, unlike myself, are brave enough to publicly embrace their dorkdom.
    For me, one issue with the rap is that I know the rhythm of "Migraine" so well that it's confusing my brain to hear new words to it. If you were rapping to an original backing track, it would be easier to appreciate the lyrics for their own merit.

    • @ThePopSongProfessor
      @ThePopSongProfessor  6 років тому +2

    Hating
    Degrading
    Fading
    Relating
    Creating
    Affiliating
    Frustrating
    Painting
    Training
    Flaming
    I
    Try
    Fly
    Die
    Hide
    Abide
    Decide
    Retry
    Deny
    Crimes
    Nine
    Times
    Align
    Defy
    I wish I could stop thinking
    About my insecurities and how many people are hating
    Me I’m painting a fading painting
    In my head, can’t think of colors and it’s frustrating
    I’m done affiliating with life
    So it think I won’t try
    And decide I want to die
    The times are all wrong
    To many rules to abide by
    So I paint a perfect person and hide behind the lie
    They tell me to stay alive but I think I might just defy
    I pull out a knife and now she sings rewind
    And I deny my intentions
    They coached me worse than Freddie Kitchens did
    Now I’m beginning to be sensing
    The end even though it’s only the beginning

    Lights, camera, action, satisfaction
    At your finger tips no one's lacking stuff
    But it's not enough when it seems that
    We have enough stuff just to blow stuff up
    Lights, camera, stop! We're killing ourselves
    Just to get to the top
    But we won't stop talking about what we got
    And how we all love it when we're loved a lot
    Enough about you, let's talk about me
    And how everybody thinks I'm just so free
    Free? Did you hear the verse that came first
    And how my own body's waging war on me?
    I bet you didn't know something as absurd
    There's a word that is said more than any other word
    It's sorry, sorry
    And I pray that the word was heard

    I knew I recognized Migraine

  • @AceMusicFreak
    @AceMusicFreak 6 років тому

    If you ever need an original intrumental, I sometimes do that.
    For your first attempt it wasn't too bad, a few things I noticed are that Tyler definitely comes up with ideas first and then tries to make it sound good also: he has the same problem as me, which is writing to many lyrics for to little music. So Tyler puts the maximum possible number of syllables in a phrase where as you had a lot less, especially in the second version.
    Also: The breaks were kinda awkward and your phrasing was off but that gets better with practice
    But Yeah, Tyler has a weird flow that is super hard to immitate.
    Now to the lyrics themselves: Tyler's lyrics seem very much like he just wants to show you what's going on in his mind, especially in Migraine. And so he uses easy language, he uses many metaphors and similes, and it's very structured. Your rap was kinda hard to follow, I get the general message but it's kinda all over the place. That's the benefit of just writing and then making it sound right.

    • @ThePopSongProfessor
      @ThePopSongProfessor  6 років тому

      Oh, you should definitely send me some tracks if you have time. I have zero musical ability, so I've been looking for some tracks. :)
      Your advice is very fair and quite accurate. It didn't help that I'd been analyzing a lot of Eminem recently, so he snuck in there a lot.

    • @AceMusicFreak
      @AceMusicFreak 6 років тому

      If anything I'd make some custom tracks for you. Your tempo, your style (Rock gone rap, straight up rap, reggae gone rap etc.), your feeling (happy, upbeat or angry or kinda dark or whatever), your instrumentation
      I think that's how you find your own style, by listening to different artist and to be influenced by different artists. I always think it's kinda weird if young bands say they wanna sound exactly like another band. I mean, where's the fun in that? But I get what you did for this video and it's cool but if you get away from copying twenty one pilots you'll most likely have a much easier time writing rap parts.

    • @ThePopSongProfessor
      @ThePopSongProfessor  6 років тому

      Well, if you have time, I'd love to hear 'em. :)

    Wow, you nailed tyler's style. Still, i didn't like your rapping but you did a good job for a first try. It's impressive since you had only 5 minutes

    If I'm being 100% honest, the rapping didn't sound amazing, but the lyrics where actually really good, especially considering it only took you 5 minutes. But in my opinion lyrics are the most important part of a song, so I'd say you where successful!

    Hey. (I take forever to get to my point. So if you don't want to read all of this just skip to the end).
    I'm not sure if you said "I haven't explained all of twenty one pilots songs several times" or "I have explained all of twenty one pilots songs several times." I assume the latter. My question is have you actually went over all of them. (Probably 😅😂). Although I doubt you've done any of Tyler's solo music.
    So what I'm saying is please PLEASE do a song/songs from No Phun Intended.
    Also great rap by the way.👍

    • @ThePopSongProfessor
      @ThePopSongProfessor  6 років тому

      I skipped to the end, and it was a compliment, so I don't need to read the rest, right? lol Nah, I've explained all of them whether in a private class, a summary video, or in individual videos, though, non, I haven't done an individual vid for each one yet. But maybe a No Phun Intended vid is due.

    The writing itself is solid but the flow isn't that much though u might be just imitating 21 pilot's flow (Im not familiar with every song of the band )if that's the case then it's cool ,another cool thing is using "doppelreim" an app that generate rhymes which I use all the time to write hehe ,if you've been reading my comments lately u know I'm an eminem stan sooooooo

    The Prieto ratio my friend - 80% of the wrong effort gives you 20% result. and 20% of the right effort gets you 80% result.
    (Don't bother trying to get 100% as this isn't realistic).
