However, rates can be dropped pretty easily. Hold the left stick in the middle and move the left stick to far left and the right stick up. When it pulls up the menu scroll down to rates with the right stick then flick right. Now write down all the stock numbers and then drop them 50-100. You can definitely leave yaw alone though that will help you turn well, while not wobbling trying to keep it semi flat as you fly. I also recommend you take it outside to start. saw this and thought, yep, I'll give it a go. so I ordered one through JB's link from BetaFPV. that was a week ago now. So far nothing from BetaFPV except an order confirmation. No ship date, no reply to emails, entered a support ticket this morning so I'll see what happens next. I Hope JB get's his cut from the $200 because so, far I've got nothing to show for it. Not even an email.
@@ELValenin Hi,, yes, all arrived 2 days later. Great fun although I had to dial down the rates to 40% to fly indoors. Out doors was much easier. I'd recommend getting some extra batteries and the 6 way charger as well if you buy it which made learning to fly fpv much more enjoyable. .
Hi JB... Posting for my brother... He bought this quad V3 which has Frsky SPI receiver. He could bind the radio master T8 Lite to the quad and can enter into OSD menu... But when he tried to arm with channel 5 or other channels the quad is not arming.. I am lost on what is the cause as this quad doesn't give any arming status flag .. what do you think could be the issue? btw we caliberated the radio multiple times but still no luck.
Silverware has multiple ways to link to a PC. An st link is the go to option, but the betafpv boards include a USB port that is useable with silverware after a quick firmware update. Silverware has a huge community behind it.
JB the one to get, which I think tops the choice is the "Advanced Racing Kit 2" with the Meteor75 Lite included. Sure it's $199USD... The "Starter Kit" is more designed to undercut the Emax kit for the noob with absolutely no exposure.. I'd buy the Starter kit for a child at Christmas, wouldn't necessarily buy the Advanced kit.
I know I'm pretty late putting up a comment, and hopefully you look and answer, but I'll ask anyways...New pilot, no FPV flight time yet. I got the emax TH2FS RTF kit. I absolutely do not care for the controller at all. My question is: would you recommend the Betapvf literadio 2? or the Radiomaster TS16S SE? The SE version, not the full blown version. Yes i realize the Radiomaster is 2x the cost. Just looking for your feedback.
@@JoshuaBardwell I just took out my Tinyhawk 2 freestyle with the emax E6 controller and the emax goggles for the 1st time. I ran the quad on 1 1s battery to try out. I didn't not like the goggles at all. I had difficulties seeing in them. Also, the controller was not very fun to fly with. i flew it VLOS only and it was ok. I'm seriously debating if I want to return the kit and maybe look into something else. I have some sim time, but the sim and the real thing were so different. I'm discouraged because i so want to get into this hobby.
So I won a EMAX ex pilot giveaway and the drone just came in today. This is my first fpv drone. I was a little bummed out cus it doesn't have acro mode but I love it eitherway as a begginer drone. Probably a better audience for anybody under 15, but it is still an awesome drone.

So I fly DJI stuff, cinewhoops and 5", but I recently picked up the lite radio, goggles, and a tinyhawk ii and it was definitely one of the best purchases I could have done. A little more setup, but its perfect for flying indoors and getting my family into flying! edit: I also tried out the 5 blade prop that you mentioned on your last video in a flywoo chasers frame and honestly it doesn't have that much of an improvement. It might be interesting to see a video comparison on as many cinewhoo props that you can get your hands on, and seeing which one performs the quietest? I absolutely can't use racing 3" props indoors because I would have to give actors noise cancelling headphones for them not to have actual hearing damage lol. My best experience so far has been with lower pitch HQ cinewhoop props.
SO if I buy a tiny hawk 2 I can bind it to the beta FPV controller? sorry for the noob question im looking to get into FPV and the tiny hawk looks like my best bet but the trasmitter isnt the best i read and ppl prefer the eta FPV controller
I'm the nerd that was amazed by FPV quad copters and being a retired Aerospace Tech I needed to build one, then 2 then 3 ----------- Couldn't fly at the beginning but I have learned.
It's a hard choice to make, invest a bit more, get better quad. If you don't like fpv flying after all, being out less money is better. But if you do like it, you'll wish you got something better. I learned on a tinyhawk2, love the quad, but not the gogs and radio. You can use the goggles as loaners though so that's ok, but the radio will never be used again once you upgrade which seems like a shame. Dunno where I was trying to go with this except choosing is hard
I bought the starting kit, Nice review thanks. But what is Acro - s I know it, but Hor - s and Level - s, what do they do?? Please help. I am new in FPV 😁😊👍
Would it be better to get the advanced version? Or just get the controller, start out on liftoff and get better goggles and a better quad later? Thinking of starting because I’d like to fly cinewhoops and get other cinematic fav stuff and possibly drag my son along for freestyle flying...
What model would you suggest for a beginner who has flown fixed wing for 30 years and FPV fixedwing? I have never flown a quad but I have nice goggles.
i had/have a beta fpv radio. used it for around 6 hours of simulation before the first wire inside snapped. soldered it, and 3 hours later another wire snapped, this time it was too short to resolder. i cannot recommend this radio. (this was the version with the internal charging). also tried to contect beta fpv, who 9 days later havent returned to me. and when a gimbal breaks you have to buy an entirely new controller it seems.
The beta65 lite is hands down the best brushed whoop on the market, bar none. It's right out of the bat one of the cheapest 65mm brushed whoops. The build quality is excellent, and it has the powerful 7mm motors which really haul butt. The frame is also unbreakable. I flew my beta65 lite for two hours a day, four days a week, for a year before the motors finally wore out. And by then, I had crashed it a few thousand times... with nothing worse to show for it other than a cracked canopy. ... The bayang protocol is really a wonderful protocol. It's lower latency than frsky, so a whoop racer would really benefit. The silverware flight control software is in my opinion vastly superior to even a tuned version of betaflight. And when you add NotFastEnuff silverware, this thing really screams. The camera is great too. I really think the beta65 lite is the pinnacle of brushed whoops. I would get one, and a jumper t12 or t16 to control it. Trust me you won't regret it! EDITEDITEDIT You are incorrect JB, you can and absolutely should plug it into your computer.
I mean I realize you can flash Silverware but for a typical user I don't think they're going to compile Silverware and flash it with a proprietary adapter.
Hi, joshua I'm thinking about building tyro 79 and replacing its camera with runcam split 3mini, do i have to buy receiver for the runcam or the included one will manage? I'm thinking i will buy that light radio 2 from beta fpv since i'm on a tight budget. What do you think about this configuration?
Hey Bart, I'd not recommend putting in a split if you're not experienced, because there isn't really any space for it in the tyro 79. Also personally I don't like split cameras as the fpv feed is worse and has more latency than a normal fpv camera.
It sounds like failure after failure. Firmware has no access. No angle limits and brushed setup (is it still 2016?). My 9 year old couldn't help herself but using full sticks all the time before she started to gain control. Latency. Radio binds only to this exact quad. Honestly most boys or girls receiving this will be heading into a wall as soon as they build their real first quad. Emax has way more to offer as the gate into FPV. What was BetaFPV thinking? $80 or less maybe for this. $129 and after the first month or so they will need to start spending when they realize they should have had an Emax bundle.
I think, from my personal experience with brushed tiny whoops like that, the durability is lacking. It's a short matter of time until the motors wear out etc. Plus, flying acro on that looks near impossible. Other that basic controls I feel like basic skills such as beta flight usage, acro etc. Wouldn't be developed. I'd recommend the tinyhawk over this myself.
@@madebymarcin look in the tinyhawk group on facebook, there are already hundreds of people having replaced the FC, i already replaced the one on mine 2 times (freestyle)
@justvoorfun I have a dead fc board too, but not to any manufacturing it design defect - one got ESC burned after trying to fly with debris b stuck in a prop and other was bitten though by my dog :) I have other tree drones based on the same board (TH2, TH2 Race and TH2 Freestyle) which fly fine for quite some time now. I do agree it is a pain to replace an entire $60 integrated board after single busted ESC, but this is true for every tinywhoop style drone. This is the price we pay for miniaturization.
@@alextkd2003 dont feel bad tho i bought one and then fried the FC 2 days later. I just started flying and did a few loops but then I smash it into a ground... Thats what you get trying to be cool
Is the pro version of this kit not much better 178$ BRUSH-LESS, and binding controller, and nicer quad? They should send you the Advance kit, turtle mode, wattage adjustment, nicer camera, and i would love to see you run that one, (brush-less motors). you need that.
i started with the literadio 2, been loving it for sure. I feel like your analysis of whether or not to buy it seperately was pretty bad; you seemed to forget there was a regular version, not the bayoung or w/e, which you can use with many quads.
The fact that the FrSky version of the radio exists doesn't matter since it's not a part of the kit that is being reviewed in the video. If I were doing a separate review of the literadio then it'd be different.
Tell ya what. This woulda been a good starter for me back in the day. I did the cell phone FPV thing with the 2.4 Ghz live camera feed from the toy grade camera multirotor for learning FPV Spatial awareness. In hindsight that was a BIG mistake because of the video feed latency was up to 1 second, and I trained my reflexes to that. Well over a year or two later to this day flying the realtime FPV hobby grades I am having to consciously retrain my muscle memory reflexes because of those "first days" learning experiences over compensating obstacle avoidances. I'm still having fun though but I believe for the price of this product as thoughtfully considered (compared to what I started with) in this video I would recommend this to my friends whom would wish to occasionally dabble in the Epicness that is FreeStyle MultiRotor FPV ..... Just saying.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thanks. I'll see if someone i know also has a different set of FPV goggles as I'd love to see that menu you showcased at 15:35. Odd that the main goggles it comes with does not showcase this menu.

Always the starter drone. But what is the next step up from this. There is never a class between beginner or super drone. Like i have a larva x. Love the size but what's next like a simple build. The step from bnf to building your own build.
Bought the Advanced Kit V2 to play with whilst your Xilo Kit comes back into stock at Getfpv (The wait is killing me) It's alright, the brushless version seems better, along with the Lite2 being more compatible for future ventures. However the ONLY gripe I have with the goggles is the range - it's shocking! My Eachines perform so much better (almost 3x further)
Hi! I'm really curious about this set VS the Emax Tinyhawk 2. Maybe you could make a nice comparison video? Would be nice! Of course with the new set. Cheers from the Netherlands!
@SnackDestroyer You're right I found one: ua-cam.com/video/NNUEh-uaZ10/v-deo.html And it looks incredible! This is a way better option for a first time FPV build. The average phone's OLED screen has a higher pixel density and a higher contrast than any goggle under $500. And the latency looks minimal and shouldn't bother a first time flyer.
Hey joshua i only have one question does the controller on the starter kit supports bayang as well as frsky? Im confused cause on their webpage you can choose which protocol you want to buy the controller.... and the advanced kit has the frsky controller which ultimately is better, which means that if the starter kit controller only supports bayang is future garbage.

Sorry for the off-topic, but Joshua what is up with your rapidfire module? In most reviews you can hear it loosing lock, even at close range. I don't think that's normal, is it?
Depends a lot on what I'm flying. Unify or Rush at 800 mW no problem.
WHO HAS A video of the settings for the drone you have to use controller on the goggles to do it all idk how to do it please link me
saw this and thought, yep, I'll give it a go. so I ordered one through JB's link from BetaFPV. that was a week ago now. So far nothing from BetaFPV except an order confirmation. No ship date, no reply to emails, entered a support ticket this morning so I'll see what happens next. I Hope JB get's his cut from the $200 because so, far I've got nothing to show for it. Not even an email.
Did you get it yet?
I picked up the Betafpv Transmitter as a small alternative to my Qx7 when I don't want to pack a lot and I really like the BetaFPV Transmitter.
Silverware has multiple ways to link to a PC. An st link is the go to option, but the betafpv boards include a USB port that is useable with silverware after a quick firmware update.
Silverware has a huge community behind it.
Whats a good goggle for near sighted people?
Hi.
The tail of the Meteor 75 lite drone was cut during the flight.
How this part is called?
And how can I set a new one?
Thanks
JB the one to get, which I think tops the choice is the "Advanced Racing Kit 2" with the Meteor75 Lite included. Sure it's $199USD... The "Starter Kit" is more designed to undercut the Emax kit for the noob with absolutely no exposure.. I'd buy the Starter kit for a child at Christmas, wouldn't necessarily buy the Advanced kit.
can you plug it on Betaflight ?
I know I'm pretty late putting up a comment, and hopefully you look and answer, but I'll ask anyways...New pilot, no FPV flight time yet. I got the emax TH2FS RTF kit. I absolutely do not care for the controller at all. My question is: would you recommend the Betapvf literadio 2? or the Radiomaster TS16S SE? The SE version, not the full blown version. Yes i realize the Radiomaster is 2x the cost. Just looking for your feedback.
Between the two, I like the Radiomaster because the game-controller form factor is not my favorite. But that's a personal choice.
I just ordered my 6yr old daughter the NewBeeDrone AcroBee Lite RTF Bundle Kit today. Any experience with it?
So I won a EMAX ex pilot giveaway and the drone just came in today. This is my first fpv drone. I was a little bummed out cus it doesn't have acro mode but I love it eitherway as a begginer drone. Probably a better audience for anybody under 15, but it is still an awesome drone.
Which emax? Tinyhawk 2 has acro mode
@@PBoogerwood EMAX ez pilot. It's not a tinyhawk.

So I fly DJI stuff, cinewhoops and 5", but I recently picked up the lite radio, goggles, and a tinyhawk ii and it was definitely one of the best purchases I could have done. A little more setup, but its perfect for flying indoors and getting my family into flying!
edit:
I also tried out the 5 blade prop that you mentioned on your last video in a flywoo chasers frame and honestly it doesn't have that much of an improvement.
GPS drone flyer here what’s a good controller to start with simulator
And can you use a simulator on IPAD 12.9
It's a hard choice to make, invest a bit more, get better quad. If you don't like fpv flying after all, being out less money is better. But if you do like it, you'll wish you got something better.
I learned on a tinyhawk2, love the quad, but not the gogs and radio. You can use the goggles as loaners though so that's ok, but the radio will never be used again once you upgrade which seems like a shame. Dunno where I was trying to go with this except choosing is hard
I bought the starting kit, Nice review thanks. But what is Acro - s I know it,
but Hor - s and Level - s, what do they do?? Please help. I am new in FPV 😁😊👍
Would it be better to get the advanced version? Or just get the controller, start out on liftoff and get better goggles and a better quad later? Thinking of starting because I’d like to fly cinewhoops and get other cinematic fav stuff and possibly drag my son along for freestyle flying...
What model would you suggest for a beginner who has flown fixed wing for 30 years and FPV fixedwing? I have never flown a quad but I have nice goggles.
What do you recommend for a Micro SD card for these googles ?
i had/have a beta fpv radio. used it for around 6 hours of simulation before the first wire inside snapped. soldered it, and 3 hours later another wire snapped, this time it was too short to resolder.
i cannot recommend this radio. (this was the version with the internal charging). also tried to contect beta fpv, who 9 days later havent returned to me. and when a gimbal breaks you have to buy an entirely new controller it seems.
Emax tinyhawk 2 freestyle kit??
Hello from Paraguay
Can we change the antennas on that goggle?
what would be the best choice?
can you do a review for Geprc Tinygo RTF 4K sir, i'm still don't know what to choose for my first fpv drone
Great review! After you get proficient with this fpv what kit would you recommend for under 1k?
Makes me wonder if you can swap the brushed motors out & use brushless ones. Excellent review Joshua!!
No you can't. Those motors have different type of powering and controlling therefore different flight controllers are used.
@@alekseybay6394so technically you can if you just replace the FC and build your own drone
9:44 Same with my face, but if I put it on like that I can't breathe well.
EDITEDITEDIT
You are incorrect JB, you can and absolutely should plug it into your computer.
I mean I realize you can flash Silverware but for a typical user I don't think they're going to compile Silverware and flash it with a proprietary adapter.
My meteor 75 runs away when I apply throttle, any suggestions. Thanks
Can this bind to the Radiomaster TX16s?
Hi, joshua I'm thinking about building tyro 79 and replacing its camera with runcam split 3mini, do i have to buy receiver for the runcam or the included one will manage? I'm thinking i will buy that light radio 2 from beta fpv since i'm on a tight budget. What do you think about this configuration?
Hey Bart, I'd not recommend putting in a split if you're not experienced, because there isn't really any space for it in the tyro 79. Also personally I don't like split cameras as the fpv feed is worse and has more latency than a normal fpv camera.
how does this compare to the cetus starter kit?
Emax tinyhawk series are trash too, the fc from that thing can't take any hit, many peopel alreay broke 2-4 of them (freaking 200euro on FC, 55€ each)
@@justvoorfun I have been flying TinyHawk 2 for over 2 months quite intensively without any problems.
The funny thing is that I bought the meteor65 acro version 20 days ago for the same price :'(
Bummer.
Ouch Raceday quads has had it on sale the last few weeks for alittle under 80dollars

So can you use the controller from this kit with a simulator on your computer, after all, or not?
What kind of Google’s are you using?
Mine just arrived today thanks for the recommendation
Is the pro version of this kit not much better 178$ BRUSH-LESS, and binding controller, and nicer quad? They should send you the Advance kit, turtle mode, wattage adjustment, nicer camera, and i would love to see you run that one, (brush-less motors). you need that.
What is the maximum range you can achieve in the field?
i started with the literadio 2, been loving it for sure.
Brushed motors can't handle freestyle. They're too freaking weak.
What values would you use to reduce rates for a beginner?
Shoot for about 400 degrees per second max rate.
@@JoshuaBardwell Thanks. I'll see if someone i know also has a different set of FPV goggles as I'd love to see that menu you showcased at 15:35. Odd that the main goggles it comes with does not showcase this menu.
@@ChrisParayno The goggles it comes with does show that menu (it should show up on any goggles since its transmitted from the quad) , you have to access it by holding the right stick up and the left stick to the left.
Can you just charge it by putting the usb into a computer or do you need an actual charger?
Hi bud. I bought the advanced kit. I CAN'T record at all. I changed my mini SD card and nothing. I hear like static and black screen. Any idea plz i can use the help. Thx
Always the starter drone. But what is the next step up from this.
There is never a class between beginner or super drone. Like i have a larva x. Love the size but what's next like a simple build.
The step from bnf to building your own build.
Great and honest review, Joshua! 😊
Thanks a lot!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I got a problem where the motor won't spin how to fix it ??
Can we dismantle this and use it for another quad???
Is the case of it available seperately? I have a literadio 2 and their vr01 goggles and it really sucks to transport them in the boxes they came in.
Can you mod the 6dbi antenna for the Qx7?
I wish there was a way to use a smartphone as an fpv goggle for analog cameras. Google cardboard looks amazing with a DJI quad.
@SnackDestroyer Ooo I found a newer model: ua-cam.com/video/yWnN4AwtHcg/v-deo.html
There are two versions of the LiteRadio -- one with Bayang and one with FrSky. The $129 starter kit is Bayang radio.
Best goddamned intro in 2020. Also The Big Lebowski is an amazing movie.
Thinking of picking one up for my fathers birthday
nooooooo it will just b put in a landfill not long after!!
Let's not encourage Betafpv to try and sell crap like this kit.
Buy him a NewBeeDrone Starter kit instead. I started with this BETAFPV kit ant it almost turned me against the hobby...NewBeeDrone to the rescue!
i just got this kit and went to the configuration and didn't see all the options shown in your video. anyone know why?

I have a question for you I wone the ready to fly Eachine wizard x220s and Idk any thing about Fpv drones but I have no goggles yet would I damage it if I tryed it with out goggles???? And do I need to do anything special to get started??
It won't be damaged if you don't have goggles. You can fly it line of sight.
@@JoshuaBardwell cool thankvyou I thought it would be fine thanks for getting back to me !! Do I have anything special before half chrome told me to check with bnb you about set up and things I won't on Jacks channel

They won't fit in the battery holder and the weight would affect handling. But it would fly if you don't mind those things.
thanks to you i bought the Advanced kit, thanks
I did the same mistake with Lightradio from Betafpv.. I hoped that I was buying FRSKY while in fact I bought Bayang protocol. Now I can use it only with simulator.
made_by_marcin hey how do you connect this to a simulator? My steam doesn’t register it as a controller
@@viciousavacado4941 Yes it works with Velocidrone and DRL. Check if Windows recognizes it properly first. I don't think steam does anything to this - windows rather yes.

Weird that is was not bind, the one I had my hands on was bond already and it was like some time ago
How you change the rates??? I can not reach this menu O.o

can this work with spektrum?
No. It's the wrong protocol.

outside i get a lot of noise on the video . a better antenna will improve that ? can i use a good CP omni antenna with this whoop? or i must use linear polarized one?
That's ludicrous that they didnt bind it to the radio. What's the point of a ready to fly kit?
Happy with the tinyhawk kits you recommend 👍.very durable compared to my beta fpv quads wich seem to not handle crashes as well IMO. but all these cheap goggles are a terrible fit . ✌ kinda a shame if they fit better more people would use them for something other than bench work 👍
