I love your patience! I KNOW that is why your items turn out soooo much “cleaner” than mine! You take the time to set seams and to make such precision seams! I LOVE this video!!! Thanks you… Even tho I’m a yr behind!!😂❤️
You are so welcome! 🥰 Thank you so much for the love! Pressing makes a lot of difference. I am not sure about having precision seams. 😆 I struggle with that, but I am great at both pressing and changing my thread color.
Being able to cut with left or right hands is your super power! 😂😂 Love this block, and love that it was inspired by a vintage quilt, next one on my ever growing to do list.
Thanks for the tutorial of this scrappy quilt block design. I cannot tell you how many cut off triangles I have collected through the years; they could be used perfectly in this block. Thanks for the tip of flipping your clapper over so absorbed heat can escape before it’s next 😮use.
Hi Kris, This block looks great and I love your fabrics, too❣️ For months I have wanted to mention how lucky you are to be ambidextrous when cutting!!! I cannot do that. Always good to see you. I have a new iPad so I’ve discovered it gave me a new name. 😅. Have a good week, 🥰 Chris Littebrant
I agree, gorgeous colors! The Lord blessed you to be ambidextrous with cutting, so don't apologize for using that gift. I don't have the wooden clapper yet, but will remember that tip should I buy one. "Respect the bias." So true! Thanks so much for this pattern. Blessings!
Hi, thanks for sharing, and the shout out! It’s Mrs. “Cool”, just like that, a German name way back when. The blue under the quilt was a block exchange about 20 years ago. It was my first quilt I quilted on my domestic sewing machine. It fits our queen size bed. I bit off a lot with that! I will take some pictures of a quilt my great grandmother made. Looking forward to learning more!
Love this scrappy block. Great use of left over pieces. Often my scrap are not that big, but I will keep this in mind for those scrap that are. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! You could make a smaller version of this block, if you want. Just make sure to reduce the sizes evenly (all by a quarter, a half, etc.). ❤️ Thank you for watching!
I just love your videos and made one of your scrappy blocks…one you called your favourite. I also love how you recuse those old quilts and give your spin on them. Why buy patterns? Love that all the people I follow give us free patterns. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Glad you love them! I find with patterns that a lot of them are just new color ways put into old patterns, but I have to say, I am still guilty of buying patterns nonetheless. 😬😂 Thank you for watching and for your kind words. ❤️❤️❤️
What a fanastic block. I love it. At one of the retreats I went to we had a stall where people could bring fabric to sell and I bought this really lovely piece of fabric. It's blues and greens but I don't have a pattern yet that I want to use it with. I just might go through all your quilt blocks that you have put up and see if something suits this fabric that I love.
Love it! How wonderful! I hope you find something. I am thinking about doing a sampler quilt with some of my samples that I made for these videos. I have so many orphan blocks because of it. Not that I am complaining! Love figuring out these patterns. Thank you so much for sharing! ❤️
I knew you would make a great tutorial out of this block! I have the seam tape on my machine, but honestly I find that I usually end up going with the marking when I'm making HST's. Don't know why - I guess I'm a creature of habit.
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed this tutorial! I get confused with the seam tape by itself, but it is like an insurance policy after I mark them. LOL! I don't know why either. Maybe we are both creatures of habit! ❤️
Hi Kris. Sew glad to have come across your channel. I love my clapper also. Could you tell me what cutting mat you have that doesn’t have lines. I absolutely don’t like the lines. I use my rulers.
I am sew glad you found me, too! ❤️ I use Olfa mats and just turn them over. I haven't purchased one in a long time, but I think they are still blank on one side. Hope this helps!
Maybe husband could make built ins but leave a certain amount open at bottom for heat distribution???? Draw out a design on graph paper, then u can move things around til u find a design u like and works for you. Good luck.
That's a great idea! Thank you! I need to do just that. He is ready to build whatever I need. I am definitely the one holding production up, that's for sure! 😂

Great Tutorial🤩
It is just that extra insurance, isn't it? LOL!
I am going to make my youngest sister a table runner from this pattern! Fall colors!

Love all of your tutorials. By the way, I am left handed, however, I also cut with both hands. 😊
Thank you so much! I am left handed, too! Great “club” to be in. 😎
I have one of those Fons and Porter rulers. I prefer that method. Thanks for scrappy idea Kris! Happy Quilting everyone!
Thank you! You are so welcome! ❤️

Glad you enjoyed! Thank you for watching!
Looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! Glad you like it! ❤️
It’s great! Thank you for the tutorial.
You're very welcome! Glad you are enjoying it!
I open seams when I can - Blok Lok works best if you don’t. Works wonderfully for squaring up easily. And use a charcuterie board as a clapper.
I’m totally using a cutting board now!
Do you really? I love it! I can't bring myself to open those seams. I get too much satisfaction from nesting them. LOL! 😎
I love it! What a great idea!
I never thought to press my hst before i cut it!! I like this block a lot!
It really helps them lay flat, especially when you are trimming them up. Glad it is a helpful tip for. you!
I love this block! I think I need help with color for sure. But so hoping to start this block. You are so talented.
Thank you so much! Try to stay within the same color families. That helps a lot!
Wow !! So nice - they turned out great !
Thanks so much 😊

So if you turn the corners like the centres, you will have all over pin-Wheels, and confuse any onlookers completely?
Yes! True! But to get pinwheels in the corners, you have to really plan which way which corners will turn, but YES! That would be amazing!
How is it that I did not know you had a FB page?!?
LOL! I am not sure! I do. :)
You'd think I would have mentioned it at some point during our chats!
