run to border resttown. hire Oxride. pick up the biggest armor guy. put him in cart. put the second biggest armor guy (a girl guy this time). spend 20min shuffling guy and girlguy. now I have the full ox cart possy my party. and two guys.

i love how most of the ppl how plays (mostly the woman!) creating pretty characters and dressing them well.. kind skimpily XD despite what all the bigheads preach in gaming industry such as xbox.. its such a relieve to see most of the gamers doesnt give an f about what they trying to force on us!

Lore answer - There are creatures called the Brine in deep water that devour basically anything.
Practical answer - 13 years ago when DD1 was in development coding water in open world games with a limited budget was a legitimate hassle not worth the cost.
Cynical answer - Because Itsuno couldn't be assed to make genuine improvements to this game and instead reverted several improvements Dark Arisen made to DD1.

In the original tale, she was beheaded by Perseus who didn't look at her but used a reflective shield given to him by Athena to locate her. But that trope of Medusa killing herself by looking into a mirror (and later on while using a directed laser beam) has become an internet meme.

I still remember in the first game that if you are a guy and you wear women's clothes then fight an ogre. When the ogre picks you up and tries to lick / eat you, they'll gag 😂

The in game lore reason is because of an entity known as the Brine that inhabits all bodies of water (the red tendrils that drag things under). Anything that falls into water that shouldn't be there gets swallowed up by it. For everything but the player, it's instant death. Even boss monsters. If a Drake falls into a body of water, the Brine gets it. As for why the player doesn't die, well as sadistic as the game devs can be, they throw you a bone every now and then. So instead you just get back sent to nearest point of where you fell so it's just a minor inconvenience.
Basically they didn't want to bother with swimming or underwater content as the game already has enough going on and is barely holding together as is. So the Brine was an excuse to just not implement it lol.

So be extra careful when fighting Golems cause they seem to able to disable Gravity on a whim, Griffons break reality when you are an expert marksman with a ballista, and no matter what this game hates you and will kill you with wolfs minators cyclopses and children.
I just wish that the boys franchise never existed. It’s just so dark and too traumatic and emotionally scarring to exist
I was fighting a Medusa and she smacked me with her tail my arisen went flying like an anime character hit the vertical wall and stuck there from the momentum shit legit looked out of anime how they be sending mfs 500 ft away into a wall
I was playing the first one, saw a pot i wanted to i went to grab it, accidentally grabbed a fkkin rabbit. It took me a sec to realize what it was but when it started moving i got an idea. I went over to the edge of the clif and fkking yeeted that rabbit. Got 10 xp and some food😂😂
