I think it's not realized that by giving voice to the people that disagree with wokeness/DEI ideology, these guys are actually doing a real public good. Like this is a genuinely moral act. You are providing the capacity for debate, when one side of the debate was socially illegal even 5 years ago. Like so many things in history - segregation, Vietnam war, anti-trust stuff - one side tries to create a reality where the other side is too socially costly to ever voice out loud. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Peter Thiel, Chamath, Elon, etc. Thank you so much. I genuinely respect and appreciate this, and admire the capacity to voice a real standpoint on a stage like this. Thank you!

    1. Australia
    • Absentee Ballots: Australia allows absentee voting for those who cannot make it to their designated polling location.
    • Extended Voting: In some cases, pre-poll (early) voting is available for up to three weeks before the election day. Postal voting is also available for those who qualify.
    2. Canada
    • Absentee Ballots: Canadians can vote by mail if they cannot vote in person.
    • Extended Voting: Advanced voting is available, and it typically runs for a few days before the official election day.
    3. United Kingdom
    • Absentee Ballots: Postal voting is available to those who cannot attend polling stations.
    • Extended Voting: Early voting is not generally practiced, but postal ballots can be requested well in advance.
    4. Germany
    • Absentee Ballots: Germans can vote by mail without needing to provide a reason.
    • Extended Voting: Absentee voting is possible several weeks before election day.
    5. France
    • Absentee Ballots: Voters may appoint a proxy if they cannot vote in person.
    6. Sweden
    • Absentee Ballots: Sweden allows both postal voting and voting at embassies.
    • Extended Voting: Advanced voting can begin up to 18 days before the election.

Exactly… also in Switzerland, one of the most democratic countries in the world, people get their voting papers per post (everyone). Peter Thiel is incorrect that bankruptcy law changed under Bush, Jr. where you can't file on student loans. I've been a bankruptcy attorney for 25 years, and that has been the law since at least way back into the 90's. Thank you for facilitating important and very relevant questions, great format, being fair and balanced, not just stopping at the simple answers but the well articulated WHY reasons behind their answers.
We only wish to hear from Biden/Harris/Waltz on these important questions so the truth will be told but they choose to avoid and hide from the press and public in these type of interviews which tells me they either:
    Can’t articulate their views.
    Hiding their views.
Afraid of their views being exposed going on record.
Don’t know what their views are.

Thiel probably supports both parties financially. His companies all earn contracts from USA governmental agencies. He's obviously a vital supporter of Trump even if he slightly downplays it. He of course does not want to have too negative a public reputation.
In regards to Jason's questions about whether it is worth it to go to war with China over Taiwan's democracy- -- the only reason USA elites care about democracy in Taiwan is the semiconductor industry. Neither Saudia Arabia nor UAE are democracies. Why would Jason pretend or delude himself that the issue is saving Taiwan's democracy.

@@mattpen7966 I couldn’t agree more you’re so correct. Without making it a holiday and actually spending the proper funding to provide enough voting booths for same-day voting, moving an election to a 1-day vote would be a nightmare. Take into account Peter Thiel is one of the biggest GOP donors and Republicans have been obsessed with the strategy of voter suppression and gerrymandering the vote to their base since their policies have failed to win over the American people time and time again

I refuse to believe that in a candid conversation he wouldn't admit that it is the US that is hungry for a war, with Taiwan in a role similar to Ukraine. In peaceful competition US consistently loses ground to the Chinese. To preserve hegemony, a war is a good bet, and American hubris lets them believe they would come out unscathed.
He frames the Chinese as hostile (unprovoked, of course), and the US as so naively peaceful and trusting it did not even acknowledge there is a competition ongoing. He's not a stupid man, so what else could this be but dishonesty? Meanwhile the Chinese insist this planet has room enough for both countries, while US expands sanctions.

    • @lynnelee4390

He sure did mention the competition. He said it's essentially a thuycididis trap. Not sure I spelled that right.
If china is the benevolent country u seem to think it is, why are they laying claim to the entire South china sea?
They will be no different tan any other empire when they become the superpower.
      And they could be worse.

I appreciate that Peter acknowledges the level of uncertainty that exists with all of these issues. He provides thoughtful answers while also pointing out how he could be wrong.
This is the polar opposite of Sacks. He is supremely confident that he has every answer to every question. And that the opposition is not only wrong, but is actively destroying the country.
Food for thought for the all in crew. It is a shame what the pod has turned into.

It is also concerning that China is not a democracy - there is only one political party with its own politics. Look up who make the white paper protests.
