As I've previously mentioned before even before he became my Ginebra's head coach, Tim Cone is a master at in-game adjusment. I can confidently say he's better than some NBA HCs. While NZ is cooking us don sa drop defense ni Junemar sa pick and roll, he freaking switched Junemar to Newnew. Thats some big balls decision making. Maybe NZ watched the tape of Ginebra-SMB on how CTC gameplanned against Abay and flourished it with fantastic Webster going off the screen switch. And that Scottie to Newnew dagger three, just soo sweet seeing them celebrate together after tearing each other apart over the years. Kai has grown to be that unicorn he was projected to be, given the right coach to unlock his potential. This is the GILAS PUSO with UTAK that were clamoring about. Just hoping to have that showdown with Japan. Eversince their recent success to olympics, dami na nila natalong malalakas pero di pa sila nagbabangga ng Gilas. Would love to see that fight.
I'm so glad we finally beat the All Blacks! It kinda bothered me that a basketball crazy nation loses to a country that doesn't even have basketball in their top 3 sport every time. But this is a step in the right direction. Now if we can beat the Aussies, OMG, I think we are a legit elite team.
Malaki ang kompyansa ng team despite of the threat na dala Tall Blacks when it comes to the game. Even with the new team kaya nilang manalo talaga. The thing that really seperate the 2014 gilas to the 2024 gilas is their execution on the cluth. The old gilas can't finish game again great teams, they may have great runs at the end they still lacked on executing on both ends on the floor. But this new Gilas, they will have small burst of runs but late on the game even if its a back and fort game, Gilas is actually hitting their shots, getting fouls, and playing elite defense. We dictated the phase of the game amd that's just enough to beat a great team like New Zealand.
Great win and congratulations Gilas Pilipinas. I know there are better basketball minds out there, but just my thoughts - 1) JMF represents the apex of what we could do with a traditional big man. His main issues really have to do with his limitations in speed. Recruiting a big who plays big will be important for future competition. For now the college FSA pipeline looks promising, though QMB should be a natural candidate. 2) Patience pays off for Kai. Maybe he won't reach his dream of making it to the NBA, but looking at the next competitive window until 2028, we have to lean in on his unique physical gifts. He has learned how to read the game better, and as he gets more game reps, he'll even be better. My two cents, he should stay in Japan if he can't get to the NBA. In Europe he will be benched in favor of either overstaying star vets or whichever young phenom they have. 3) We need more multi-tool players, guys who can defend and shoot, and are comfortable being low-usage in terms of getting the shots. But at the same time I hope we feature more plays for our guys, we can't lean on naturalized players forever. Never mind "sulitin ang bayad" mentality. Bless Jordan Clarkson, but that's a reason he is a hired gun instead of a key building block. We need to think beyond both Brownlee and Boatwright. 4) "Malayo na pero malayo pa" - Until we become a regular fixture within the top five of Asia, we still need to continue our development path. There are lessons we can learn from China. Sometimes it's harder to stay on top than to get there.
The Philippine team played like a well-oiled 90s to early 2000s NBA team--midrange shots, plenty of inside plays, and pure grit. New Zealand played straight-up modern NBA--relying heavily on three-point shooting but offering little else.
bro nico, i think u miss the point of junmar & kai playing at the same time...nakita mo lang ung ung how NZ attack the defense of jumar but still it can be improve like playing the zone kaya lang d nila nagamit dahil grabe percentage ni NZ sa 3 points...nag adjust nmn c tim cone pag screen kay junmar naka drop pa rin cya pero my kukuhang ibang player sa naka ball on hand...ang isang importante na d mo napansin is on how junmar & kai play at offense, the high and low was on point...pag nag improve pa perimeter ni kai mas deadly na ung high and low nilang dalwa....sa defense marami pang pwedeng improve at magka variety...then in game adjustment na lang if d nag wowork...bsta importante nagkaka amuyan na cna jumanr at kai sa loob and thats deadly.😂😂😂
I think this the beginning of Kai s domination in region and I'm hoping he can bring this to the NBA .and one more picies that we need a legit shooter like heading Alvin tolentino .coz ctc have amos that I think ctc is molding him in a future line up .but the thing is sbp need to have another twelve man line for next gilas this is the time we have a lot of bugs now in pba and collegiate .
With a healthy Aj Edu, it would've been a much easier game for us
On a good day, Taipei can beat New Zealand. They now have the naturalized player that they need. Sympre lyamado tlga ang Kiwis pero I don't think they can afford to be complacent
i never thought i'd see the day the Ph would field a team that would literally stand head and shoulders above the tall blacks. btw, akala ko utol ni jai reyes iyong guest
aim afraid of the goat justine brown lee hes not getting younger siguro napansin nyo ang kanyang pagbagal nawala yung kanyang quick first step kayat hindi nya maiwan iwan ang kanyang bantay tyaka yung elevation ng kanyang talon nawala narin although yung shooting nya nandoon parin but still nag aalala ako maybe mga 2years pa mukhang kailangan nang magpahinga kahit si couch tim cone napansin din nya yan sa game 6 nang pba finals
NZ is in the placed where gilas was before, nung nagsstart maghanap ng tamang player to play for WC,and daHil sa daming liga at kainitan ni kai sa nba dream with Jordan conflict late padin sila nabuo..but right now they are on the right track we can see we're reaching our potential na,edu and malonzo nlng ang kulang and gilas is almost 95% na...and newzealand still experimenting, you didn't say the age ng NZ n pwede bumalik.if 32 pwede p prep for olympics or WC.older than that nonsense na..now we didn't see ung inside game ng NZ puro outside lang.they chose low percentage shot..are they not really willing to win by that or tintago pa homecourt nila play nila..or trying have that identity outside shooting team...the question is sino malaki upside?with 4pt lead..did we see just 60% of potential of NZ?or the timing was on Ctc side?starting from asian games all team b to starting from scratch NZ,,we wish gilas would add more player,we need to stop those shooters, and we need to shoot the ball well from the outside
Coach Chot is already a "goner." Why continue with this brand of hatred? Do you plan on hating him until you grow old & weary? Move-on now, he's old news! Focus on the present times, CTC is our guy now!
nah i dont believe in Puso.. parang "salute" lang din yan ni darvin ham... mai game plan si tim cone.. nag gumawa sya ng adjustments along the way, sinasabi nya sa mga players ano kelangan gawin nila.. hindi yun puso.. it was just playing the game to win.

bro nico, i think u miss the point of junmar & kai playing at the same time...nakita mo lang ung ung how NZ attack the defense of jumar but still it can be improve like playing the zone kaya lang d nila nagamit dahil grabe percentage ni NZ sa 3 points...nag adjust nmn c tim cone pag screen kay junmar naka drop pa rin cya pero my kukuhang ibang player sa naka ball on hand...ang isang importante na d mo napansin is on how junmar & kai play at offense, the high and low was on point...pag nag improve pa perimeter ni kai mas deadly na ung high and low nilang dalwa....sa defense marami pang pwedeng improve at magka variety...then in game adjustment na lang if d nag wowork...bsta importante nagkaka amuyan na cna jumanr at kai sa loob and thats deadly.😂😂😂
Imagine natalo naten nz
Ng hinde tyamba
Woow
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tim cone is the key.All these wins will not happen without Tim cone.
Grabe ung laro...
Oo boss!
Galing talaga ni Scottie last game!
Wala pa s prime s kai.
Hintayin natin ang prime nya mas malakas p yan..
Sa Pagpasa pp lng yung court vision IQ ninkai mataas
I think this the beginning of Kai s domination in region and I'm hoping he can bring this to the NBA .and one more picies that we need a legit shooter like heading Alvin tolentino .coz ctc have amos that I think ctc is molding him in a future line up .but the thing is sbp need to have another twelve man line for next gilas this is the time we have a lot of bugs now in pba and collegiate .
Hopefully bro!
With a healthy Aj Edu, it would've been a much easier game for us
🔥🔥🔥
what do you think about the webster luto situation?
Smc/cone ftw!
Yessir
If we beat NZ on their home game then we can say that we really beat them. Pero good job sa glias
Yes good job at least for this game! More battles to come vs NZ
Kapag panalo daming nakikisawsaw . At nag co comments na kung sinong kadunungan.... Nakakasuka kayo!!!!
Galing ng channel mo...
2nd to view🇵🇭❤️👌👍👏
Hello po!
On a good day, Taipei can beat New Zealand. They now have the naturalized player that they need. Sympre lyamado tlga ang Kiwis pero I don't think they can afford to be complacent
Their local players also need to play better
True here! Ako lang complacent hahahaha.
Laki ng tiwala ko sa Kiwis to get the job done
Gilas is now reaping the learning experience from Chot Reyes...
Goal natin mag Top 15 sa World Rankings eventually!
OT boss, why PBA teams can't abuse Junmar glaring weakness?
They do not have the capable personnel to do so 😅
i never thought i'd see the day the Ph would field a team that would literally stand head and shoulders above the tall blacks.
aim afraid of the goat justine brown lee hes not getting younger siguro napansin nyo ang kanyang pagbagal nawala yung kanyang quick first step kayat hindi nya maiwan iwan ang kanyang bantay tyaka yung elevation ng kanyang talon nawala narin although yung shooting nya nandoon parin but still nag aalala ako maybe mga 2years pa mukhang kailangan nang magpahinga kahit si couch tim cone napansin din nya yan sa game 6 nang pba finals
Chot Reyes Curse is Broken ! 👍😂
(bloggers and Comments) 😂
Tim Gilas
Focus on the present times, CTC is our guy now!
si boy kumpara
Chot is living in your head rent free.... Move on

Hello po thanks for watching!
nah i dont believe in Puso.. parang "salute" lang din yan ni darvin ham... mai game plan si tim cone.. nag gumawa sya ng adjustments along the way, sinasabi nya sa mga players ano kelangan gawin nila.. hindi yun puso.. it was just playing the game to win.
Always cracks me up!
