Two-Handed yoyoing, or 2A, is one of the more difficult styles of yoyoing to get into, but once you master the basic tricks it is a great style both for performance and competition.

We debated this, and what we concluded is that, to do anything at all interesting in 2A (like two handed loops) takes much longer to learn and perfect than basic 3A tricks (like Velvet Rolls). It is debatable of course, and once you get into the more advanced tricks of any style they are all very challenging. That being said, it does seem like the amount of time needed to master even the most basic 2A tricks is significantly greater than the other styles.

+Skyle It totally depends on you. I prefer 2a myself. While there may not be as much creativity in the tricks, as far as making new tricks, the way the tricks can be put together in a routine to music takes a lot of creativity, which I think makes 2a more fun.

Any advice on consistent throwing. I can loop pretty well (for a beginner) with both hands. Pretty much limited to my strings tightening or loosening to the point of not being playable. But, my throws are terribly inconsistent. I have Yomega Raider EXs. Both are different colors on each side so I can tell if the yoyos are flipping like they should be... It's only about 70 percent of the time though. I also can't keep my throw consistently vertical or at the angle Adam suggested in another video.
Wich yoyo is best for looping tricks the unleashd yoyo or the loop 360
They are both great options. I learned most of my tricks on the Dominator, but lately I have been using the Loop 360s to work on some of the more challenging tricks. We have a two-handed kit for each on YoTricks.com, and in the kit they are nearly the same price. You really can't go wrong with either option.
If you are using a slip knot (which you should be) make sure the double strings of the slip know are on the outside of your finger (to the left side) when the palm of your left hand is facing down.
1 of my loop 1080's makes a squeaking sound every time I loop it, the other one doesn't. I have both of the turned all the way left. Is that normal? or do I need to lube that one again?

Arvind Nair Personally I use the Oracle yoyos, and Connor uses the Unleashed. We both prefer these over the 1080s because they are no so high-maintenance. I would say the Unleashed is a better overall 2a yoyo.

Matt Lim Actually, that shouldn't really be a big problem. Just change the string and lube the bearing and it should work just fine. If worse comes to worse you can always replace the bearing.

I know 2a isn't all about long sleep times, but out of curiosity, how long should a well-setup 2a yoyo sleep?
If you can get 10 Around the Worlds that is enough to learn most tricks.

I've had the oracles for about 3 months now, and they have been perfect for me to get the basis of looping. It seems now that there not working as well as they used to. I'm thinking about getting the loop 1080, its a bit more expensive than I'm used to, how long should I expect it to last?
If they Oracles are not working as well most likely you just need to change the response pads.
Typically Loop 1080s crack before they wear out, so it just depends on how often you hit them together.

I'm using loop 1080s and i'm wondering if theres any reccomended setting for the adjustable bearing? Right now i'm trying to learn 2 handed around the worlds.
For 2 handed around the world you just want to make sure that the gap isn't so tight that the bearing can't spin.
We will be releasing a video for that trick soon, but we call it Kink Pops.
so i'm a newer 1a player (i bought a grind machine, should have gotten protostar) and i'm thinking about delving into 2a. would it be a good idea to buy the oracle 2 hand pack, learn 1 handed loops, then move to 2 hands?

Ive been using a Brain for looping. Is the Brain good for looping and how does it compare to the Oracle.
You can use the brain to get down basic loops and hop the fence. However, once you get beyond that it will not do any of the tricks as well as a dedicated looping yoyo like the Oracle.

how often should the response pads be replaced on the loop 360 and the oracle?
If you feel like the yoyo just isn't playing as responsive as you like even when you lube the bearing then it is portably time to change the response pads. When I am practicing two-handed yo-yoing every day I change the response pads every 4 weeks or so.
I got two questions.
I heard that there's a way to mod fireball or raider by adjusting the plastic spacer. Would you recommend doing this mod? If so would you have plan making video of it?
Since Jake has been added to the crew, would you plan on doing more 5A? I've seen his Five A May and I loved it but I would really appreciate if you could do it again here in yotricks.
yuta inoue You can mod a fireball the way you describe. We will not be making a video about this, because we do not recommend Raiders for learning 2a.

It sounds like you are progressing as you should. Unfortunately, I have no additional advice that can help. Practice will work out the problems you are experiencing over time. It sounds like you are doing very well, though!
I have to wait to get my oracles. all I have now is one annoying fixed axle yo-yo. But I'm still pretty consistent at looping even though I use a yo-yo the not the great so when I get my oracles I think all take off flying, hopefully, or at least that's what happened when I got my sage
With the loop 1080, what 2 colors do you think go well together?
That is really up to you, I like the red and blue ones myself.

I have a Duncan Imperial at home, but I want to get a Duncan Speed Beetle so I can get better at looping. Is it good for beginners?
That is a fine yoyo for looping, but it has response pads that wear out very quickly that will need to be replaced often. Only get a Speed Beetle if you can also get lots of replacement response pads.

What length of string is best? I have loops 1080 and I don't know what is best length. Answer me please.
BerserQ All two handed players use different length string. Personally I keep my string for 2a at around 85-90cm. This is longer than a lot of players, but it is shorter than Connor uses his (he is the guy in this video).

Yoyoman52 You can try to sand down the metal spacers, but it is quite difficult to get them right. I would recommend going with loop 1080s instead.

When I do the around the world trick with the Oracle, sometimes on the second around the world it stops spinning and hits me in the head. Also when I try to see spin time, the yoyo tilts to the side which is annoying. Please could you help me fix this problem? (I already use lube) But I think it's still a great yoyo.
datcakegamer The Oracle is not designed for long sleepers, and it will probably sleep longer doing around the Worlds than it will doing a regular sleeper.Have you watched our video where we teach around the world?

every time I try to sleep my yoyo it comes right back up, even though i'm not throwing it that hard. I need to throw it really soft for it not to. How do I fix that? I have the oracle

I changed my yoyo to loop 1080 and I still have things to get used to. I was wondering how do I adjust and what are the effects in the adjust.
yuta inoue You adjust it by using the tool that came with the yoyo. Tightening the yoyo will make it loop higher and will make it more responsive. Loosening it will do the opposite.

Yoyoman52 I would not mod a fireball for looping... but if you want to, you would need to get Raider Parts and mod it the same way you would a Raider.

How often am i suppose to lube my looping yoyos and change the breakpads?
Firo Prochainezo Only as often as you need to. By that I mean that you should only lube the yoyo when you want it to play more responsive, and only change the pads when they don't seem to be working well. I lube my looping yoyos every time I change the string, and I change the pads about once every 3-4 weeks.

They each have their good points. The Oracle is much easier to get a new 2a player started, the Unleashed are lower maintenance, and the Loop 1080 are arguably the most competitive of the three. I personally use the Oracles when I practice, Connor uses the Unleashed.

How is one able to make a 2A yoyo sleep and loop? Is it how strong you throw the yoyo?
yuta inoue Any 2a yoyo I know of can do both. If you are not sure if yours can sleep you can just drop it from your hand and if it cannot sleep it won't. The key to getting a 2a yoyo to sleep (assuming it can) is to make sure you do not allow any slack in the string when you are trying to get it to sleep.

On youtube there is a little bell icon when you are logged in that shows me all the recent comments. As long as I keep up with what is coming in it will tell me every new comment that comes in.

Help please, I was using my oracle yoyo for a while and then the response pads started peeling off, I changed them now it doesn't work right. Is there anyway I can fix this?
What is not working right?
As soon as I started throwing it, it wouldn't come up or down properly. I would like to tell you in more detail but when it started happening I thought it might be the string so I threw it out. Now I ordered a bunch more strings and when they arrive I'll try it out again and tell you in greater detail. Thanks

I got my string and the problem I'm having is that my yoyo seems like its really responsive now, when I wind it up, it seems to get stuck at the response pads for a moment so i need to pull it a little for the string to go down and start winding to the axle. If I through the yoyo down hard it will sleep for a little while then bounce back up.
Usually when I put a new string on the Oracle I pull on it to stretch it out, that seems to help get everything in place.

They do sleep. If yours is not sleeping it may mean that the string has gotten caught between the bearing and the yoyo, or that the response pads have started to come out.
You can try the Unleashed whenever you like, of course. Personally, I (Adam) am still learning all my tricks on the Oracle (360).

If that is the case then try removing the string and putting on a new string after the yoyo is screwed together, and see if that helps.
I can argue that 3a is WAAAAY harder than 2a.
