It would be a bit of self care for me I spend more time braiding and styling my daughters hair and mine is done in 5 mins or less . Plus, if you were already in the relationship & your S.O. didn’t like a haircut you got it’s not like it’s going to affect the relationship (considering it’s a stable, mutually caring relationship)

My mom didn’t want me cutting my hair short cuz her ideal look for me was traditional long asian black hair. I kept my hair long for years because of that. At the beginning of last year I cut it from chest length to a Ruby Rose style short short hair from John Wick 2. A bit after that I went for a Ruby Rose Orange is the New Black look. I’ve been so much more happy and way more confident since getting my hair cut really short. I’m actually starting to like myself and it feels great. I’ve learned to ignore the comments from others too.
lol, same. used to live with my grandma and she looooves my hair so much she touches it more than I do. So when I moved in with my mom, I wanted to cut my hair like... really really short. Then we visited them for summer break and when she saw my hair she was like 😊☺️🤨😮😲😤😡😠😩. I felt bad but I did not regret it. Short hair just feels so good and refreshing.

Faleth Hmm that’s a tough situation to be in. Well try showing them pictures of female celebrities who have pixies. I did that, as well as I waited till I had my own money before getting my haircut. If my mom had anything to say about it I told her that hair grows back and I spent my own money on this so she can’t say anything about it. My mom gave me a death glare the first day I came home with really short hair lol, but after a while she got used to it and isn’t really surprised anymore when I go shorter. Have to share after watching this. First of all I'm not a youngster like you all seem to be (I'm 68) but came to listen to the video because my hair is growing out after chemo so I'm hoping to get to the point where my hair is LONG enough to have a pixie. My husband loves me even though I now have only one breast and then I lost my hair. The doctor told me before my mastectomy that she knew of men that actually left their wife after she had to have a mastectomy so you have to really appreciate a man who still loves you for you and not what you have or don't have, such as big boobs and long flowing hair.....

I know some people still have old fashioned ideas, but I haven't been harassed yet, I have had a few stares, but most don't seem to care although it's only been a day tho. My teacher did ask where all my hair had gone and someone in my family joked, tho not in a mean way that I looked like a lesbian. I like it and have been complimented on it, although it is certainly a big change as my hair used to go to my mid-back. But I think people always will judge, whatever you do. Although this may be the London effect and the schools I go to in the sixth form consortium are pretty liberal, at least parli is and wouldn't have a problem with that. I think with confidence you can rock almost anything. Also, I think it depends on what suits you. that's interesting, I'm sure it looked great, Shorthair seems to have the opposite effect on me as a teen. I went to have calamari and a drink at the restaurant with my dad and at the end, they gave us both a shot glass of amaretto on the house, since it was a little glass and not too strong I was allowed to drink it. But they still don't know I was 16, not 18, the legal drinking age. LMAO Edit: I should say I think I looked like I was in year 9 or year 8 (basically 13 or 14) rather than 16 when had long hair, although I did love my long hair as well. some people used to not believe at first that I was in sixthform and thought I was in the younger years doing GCSEs instead of ALevles lol. I’ve never had a pixie but I like my hair pretty short. I rock an a-line bob that’s always colored something new. Right now it’s variations of mint greens and ocean blues, and someone always has something to say about my color because it’s not a natural one. I really don’t care what people think or have to say, I’ve definitely gotten some weird looks and negative comments here and there, but I’m a stylist myself, and when I’m at work I always get compliments. I like being who I am and I’m grateful to be working in an industry that’s not only excepting of it, but encouraging. I do though have a soft spot for my grandma who’s always wanting me to grow out my dark brown hair, but it is what it is.🤷🏼♀️
I've never been afraid to cut my hair. In middleschool I tought it would look super cool to have short spikey hair so I chopped it off. My mom and dad didnt expect it, but the thouhgt it looked adorable. I am so blessed to have them. and my siblings supported me in it and still do support me in my life today.

My mom didn’t want me cutting my hair short cuz her ideal look for me was traditional long asian black hair. I kept my hair long for years because of that. At the beginning of last year I cut it from chest length to a Ruby Rose style short short hair from John Wick 2. A bit after that I went for a Ruby Rose Orange is the New Black look.
I’ve been so much more happy and way more confident since getting my hair cut really short. I’m actually starting to like myself and it feels great. I’ve learned to ignore the comments from others too.

Faleth Hmm that’s a tough situation to be in. Well try showing them pictures of female celebrities who have pixies. I did that, as well as I waited till I had my own money before getting my haircut. If my mom had anything to say about it I told her that hair grows back and I spent my own money on this so she can’t say anything about it. My mom gave me a death glare the first day I came home with really short hair lol, but after a while she got used to it and isn’t really surprised anymore when I go shorter.

First of all I'm not a youngster like you all seem to be (I'm 68) but came to listen to the video because my hair is growing out after chemo so I'm hoping to get to the point where my hair is LONG enough to have a pixie. My husband loves me even though I now have only one breast and then I lost my hair. The doctor told me before my mastectomy that she knew of men that actually left their wife after she had to have a mastectomy so you have to really appreciate a man who still loves you for you and not what you have or don't have, such as big boobs and long flowing hair.....

I know some people still have old fashioned ideas, but I haven't been harassed yet, I have had a few stares, but most don't seem to care although it's only been a day tho. My teacher did ask where all my hair had gone and someone in my family joked, tho not in a mean way that I looked like a lesbian. I like it and have been complimented on it, although it is certainly a big change as my hair used to go to my mid-back. But I think people always will judge, whatever you do. Although this may be the London effect and the schools I go to in the sixth form consortium are pretty liberal, at least parli is and wouldn't have a problem with that.
I think with confidence you can rock almost anything. Also, I think it depends on what suits you. But it will grow back, even if it can take time and has an awkward stage.

I just got my hair cut two weeks ago 😅 the first person told me last night he thought it looked bad, I wasn’t hurt but it was interesting! My ex step father would make me have my hair short through middle school, he was very controlling.. I got to grow it out in 9th grade. My mom left him so that’s great haha years later she has cancer.. again & is losing her hair, I didn’t want her to be alone but she was like don’t go bald 😂 so we got pixies! I went to have calamari and a drink at the restaurant with my dad and at the end, they gave us both a shot glass of amaretto on the house, since it was a little glass and not too strong I was allowed to drink it. I’ve never had a pixie but I like my hair pretty short. I rock an a-line bob that’s always colored something new. Right now it’s variations of mint greens and ocean blues, and someone always has something to say about my color because it’s not a natural one. I really don’t care what people think or have to say, I’ve definitely gotten some weird looks and negative comments here and there, but I’m a stylist myself, and when I’m at work I always get compliments. I like being who I am and I’m grateful to be working in an industry that’s not only excepting of it, but encouraging. I do though have a soft spot for my grandma who’s always wanting me to grow out my dark brown hair, but it is what it is.🤷🏼♀️

I've never been afraid to cut my hair. In middleschool I tought it would look super cool to have short spikey hair so I chopped it off. My mom and dad didnt expect it, but the thouhgt it looked adorable. I am so blessed to have them. and my siblings supported me in it and still do support me in my life today.

I am going to cut my really long to a pixie tomorrow, right now I am the student with the longest hair in my class and I like, almost always had long hair and I am just so sick of it. I was never allowed to cut it but now that I am old enough, I can cut it now. Everyone keeps saying “omG nOoOoOO, your hair is so beautiful” I am just like f*ck off it’s my hair and my decision
