- My grease gun holds 3 oz grease cartirdges. When I lube up my RV morothome's mechanical parts, I have to change the grease cartridge at least once. Here's how to change your grease gun's cartridge.

I like it that you stick to what it takes to load a grease gun and not some long winded story about how you acquired the gun. Great video.
Pippi, I watched several videos on UA-cam before finding yours- yours was the only one that GOT TO THE POINT (thank you!), and showed me how to load my new grease gun that I had never used before. Got that tire back on my lawn tractor and ready to roll! Thanks a million for the assist! :)
Yay, high five Joy. Good job!
You know she comes from a working class family with great work ethics. Great to see in people as young as she is. BTW, Thanks for the tip on releasing the air pressure. Wondered what I was doing 'wrong' all this time.
good for you! I'm a 64 year old woman who has been doing everything from auto to building a house for myself!! Keep it up!
+jbteehee Yes, I love to hear that! Keep it up. Happy trails! :D
thank you!!!! I went through three cartridges and watched lots of videos and still couldn't load it properly until I saw yours and finally got it to work, thank you for sharing
SAME! :)
Pippi!
Hello again from Georgia! Love how independent you are! I see you're not afraid to get a little dirty when maintaining your RV. KUDOS! Love your attitude and videos! Have a wonderful day!
EVCarGuy Thank you! Great day to you as well :)
Pippi? Do you ever come through the state of Georgia? If so, please look us up!
I got a tell ya, I have a lot of respect for folks who get out there and figure things out on their own. Two thumbs up on this one Pippi.
Vic Weston Thanks so much Vic :)
I just cross these video, lookingbto grease my joint upper ball,
And I love how calm you explaint,
You have a new subscriber,
Since My dream is get a RV
Is hard, but I have faith in myself,
Now Im ready to follow all yours videos, about RV ,
I'm sitting here eating a couple Angus burgers I just pulled off the grill and put on buns. It's interesting watching a woman do something I normally pay my mechanic to do. You are definitely a rare woman and I salute you. I could buy a grease gun and do all that, but I choose not to mostly because of time restraints. So it's good you have the time on your hands to do that sort of thing and I think it's good for people who have time available that they learn how to do that as well. Best of luck in all you do.
Oh, incidentally, D&L hand cleaner works great for cleaning that grease off your arms. I started learning about that stuff when I was about 7yrs old, knee high to a grass hopper. My dad worked at a garage and because my step mom got up late, she made his lunch after he actually left for work and asked me to take it to him which was about a mile away. He taught me a few thangz back then but because I chose not to become a mechanic I don't usually have the stuff around here.
Camper Hollow Mechanic's Glove works great too, You put it on your hands before you get your hands dirty, and after work, the grease and grime comes right off with water!
Camper Hollow Cool story, thanks for sharing!
I never knew this about a grease gun...I have leaned a lot watching this...!
Thanks Pipi, I have had one of these 3oz grease guns for years. They are super handy because you can pump grease with one hand and hold the grease nozzle properly on the fitting with the other hand (no grease squirting out and not going in your fitting). But, I hadn't used mine in quite a while and had grease all over the place when replacing the cartridge. Your video is an excellent reminder on how to do this properly!
You even make changing a grease gun Intresting. Keep the videos comming!
Jeff Stein Stay tuned for more! :)
Thanks there Pip! That was a stellar presentation providing enough detail to keep a patience challenged individual such as myself away from such a wretched little contraption.I took the hammer to two caulking guns before finally learning it's nuances. It ain't easy being me.
My wife and I have been watching these videos to stay inspired to go full time in an RV. I like how you show the fun parts of RV'ing and the not so fun parts. Reminds us that doing this won't be all gumdrops and sunshine. :) Keep up the great work!
Derrick Thomas Definitely not all gumdrops and lollypops. Good luck and happy trails :D
Pippi, your video was really helpful, as dude that purchased a 3oz grease gun for my boat trailer, just didnt know how the tube went in. Your video was perfectly executed and explantion hit the nail on the head!! thanks.
Actually, you gave a couple of useful tips that I really appreciate. Nice video!
That's the kind of friend I need to grease my lawn equipment!
Very helpful .. just bought my own grease gun and had no idea how to use it .. lol .. I'm also learning lots of DIY projects watching you .. thanks for sharing!
Michele-Mike Bradley Fantastic! Best of luck! :)
Very good I've had those grease guns for many years and I always. Make a mess your video was very informative and I think I can do it now without getting the majority of eye grease on me or the ground. Thanks,
Keep posting we learn a lot and it's great to watch you
Annette
mtbriderrusty Thanks Annette!
You are so nice to watch and hear .Makes my night.Thanks.
Tom Kemble Thank you Tom :)
Good job Pippi. These You Tube video's are very informative. Thanks a lot. I'm always at a loss when it comes time to change grease cartridges. This should put me on the right path.
Good to hear, thanks for watching!
LOL,..why one dislike? People never cease to amaze me. Thanks for taking the time to make this video Pippi! :)
I know, right?!! I never understood thumbs down. Especially for ANY of Pippi's videos!!
matt4270 It's like the old song....I'm all right now, I have learned my lesson well! you can't please everyone, so, you got to please yourself!
matt4270 It's probably hipsters who are jealous that Pippi is more mechanically competent.
matt4270 Thanks for taking the time to watch it! :D
Andrew Gems Yes, all you can do is maintain your own happiness! :D
I really struggled with refilling my mini grease gun just yesterday after replacing a mower spindle asembly that had shipped with no grease. It would have been SO much easier if I had seen your video FIRST. Now I will know for next time. Thank you for sharing this info!
Good video straight forward and to the point, better than most men's how to video's.
the 61 people who disliked this were probably women jealous of your good looks and charming personality. great job!!!
Thanks Pippi. When I changed the cartridge on my inherited grease gun, the plunger handle was stuck in the 'in' position. I reviewed many videos looking for a solution. Even though my exact problem wasn't addressed, the videos gave me enough understanding to work through my problem; thanks! (A previous owner of my gun had reversed the ends on the tube body. The plunger had gone beyond the cartridge making it impossible to retract. I cut the cardboard with a razor knife and the metal rim with a diagonal wire cutter to remove the old cartridge. With the old cartridge removed and the ends on their correct end of the body, it then behaved as expected.) Thanks again!
+Mike Baker Ah ha! Fabulous work Mike :D Happy trails!
Nice simple and clear instructional vid. I've never had an easy time with the gun until I've watched this. (and I'm quite handy). The gloves we're a great idea. My lawn tractor thanks you.
+paul brailey Cool :)
Thank you so much!! My instructions were not so great. I understand now with your comprehensive demo ;)
Wow, 100 pounds and 30 years ago, I would have loved to have met you. Still would, but guess I'll just enjoy your videos at this stage of life.
You looked so adorable doing that Pippi, I am really proud of you.
Scott Smith i wonder if she puts on the makeup etc etc to look just purdy !
I had to watch the video several times....
Thank you, this was of great help, very appreciative.
Thank you for posting this helpful video
Thank You young lady! Finally I understand how to load my grease gun. I used to leave the peal on and it would not brake. Any way, Thank You, for the complete video. Put on some Slovenian music, it is easy to work hard like you do.
Thank you. I had a brain spasm and forgot to turn back the top unit and release air pressure, and your explanation on that allowed me to get the shaft back into teh grease gun cartridge. AND reminded me to retighten the top again. Muchas Gracias..
+Michael Joseph 👍
Charm, Beauty, Skill, Talent and a Strong Sense of Adventure. What's Not to Love. Good Job, PP ! VERY Useful, Grease Gun Debunked ! Finally ! Thanks CR
Thanks for this helpful video. My grease gun is back in business
Well done. Reminded me of learning how not to fill a grease gun. Some of them have, rather than the slots in the hole, a oval keyhole shaped hole in the end. You pull the rod out and slide an undercut in the rod to the side into the key slot.
Works pretty good as long as you are careful to not bump the rod.
Before cartridges were everywhere we filled the guns by putting the end into a bucket of grease and pulling the rod. The barrel filled up like a hypodermic needle and then you screwed the cap on. I bumped the rod and a big old gob of grease flew over and stuck to the side of the garage.
The stain is probably still there after 50 years. 😊
I used these a lot growing up on the farm. You have to be careful not to let the rod/plunger go back in until you have the top on or you lose all your grease! Good job!
Steve Peterson Thanks! :)
Pippi rocks on. Nice video. You r truly an inspiration.
Eclipsed Thank you :)
I love a beautiful woman who can get grease on her arms and not freak out. The best video so far on this.
Excellent video! Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
I need to get my wife to hang out with you.
Another good "How To", Pippi!
Greasing your joints is cheep and easy. You just have to get under there and Do It!
Happy Camping!
Allen Hare Thanks, take care :)
Pippi Peterson nice to see a lady with mechanical skills I'm a man and never ashamed to learn from a woman I've known many ladies who taught me all kinds of "male" skills good job thanks for the advice
Very informative video, thanks ! Keep up the great work.
I love the way you handle it
Great video Pippi ,
Never knew someone can make handy work so adorable
Thanx! Helped me get ready for a job...
+Joe Veal Awesome, thanks for tuning in!
Cool! Sounds like there was at least one bird in the background that was interested in what you were doing Pippi! :)
Don Humphreys Yes, I heard them!
ah the grease gun.. gloves check. new cartridge check. cardboard for clean area check. half a roll of paper towel check. grease up to but not limited to elbows and cheek check. lol. i gladly take this routine maintenance item on as a challenge.. every time. It's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it. i'm just not going to pay someone else to do something that you make look easy. Good job on the tutorial.
Thanks I should have known how to do this but I didn't. Thanks for the great video.
There's no stopping you my friend, your RV must be ready to roll anywhere. Lol good job.
Wilson Reyes Thanks Wilson!
Thanks for the video, old me forgot what young me knew. Go figure. I'm also so glad that you add to thr number of women that can do cool things for themselves. Hope that didn't come out bad, so meant as refreshing and a compliment. Jessi Combs was a hero of mine, fell in love with that tough girl a little 💘
Awesome really useful, thanks 👍.
Who else noticed the hungry bird nest in the background noise. Sounds like Pippi got a family of birds or one vocal finch. Not once did it stop chirping past 1:10, lol.
MindinsideMine Everybody's got to get a word in! :)
Another great vid. You are too cool Pipi, so awesome you do this :-)
Cheers
craig aroni Thank you, Craig!
Thank you best explained Video....
Thank you, Pippi. Now I understand my mistakes I was making.
Glad to hear it!
Did anyone else have to watch this video at least 3 times due to the fact that the 1st few times you could only watch her beautiful eyes. Yeah me neither lol. Great video keep up the educational vids.

Noel Garza Thanks, yes it is!

The Ramblin CamperVan Thanks Ramblin :)
My Grand Father and Father both had grease guns but I never bought one and until I bought my Class A Motor Home I did not need one but now I guess I will have to go buy one since I know my MH probably does need to be greased. Another good video and how to so I will have to roll up my sleeves and get busy.
David Smith Thanks, good luck David! :)
Well done, great explanation. Really made sense and it is easy...Joe Blow
+Joe blow Thanks Joe!
Καλή είσαι! Μόνο για το χαμόγελο πάρε ένα like.
Another good video! Thumbs up!~John
+WORRO01 Thanks John :)
You make me feel bad ! You're half my age and know how to setup the grease gun and I've been working on autos since age of 16. I'll be 46 soon . Love the video. Btw! Cheers from Australia 😊
Thank you sooooooooooooo much - you saved me grief :-)
OMG. Thank you so much. I've been doing it wrong all this time.
?? lmao
Hi, miss pippi good job!!
first of all thanks for the relaxed presentation of the short video, 2 important things you mentioned are, unscrew the top end of gun before you pull the lever back ,as it lets air in.,that will make it easier. and also very important is to put the parts in a clean place otherwise the tip of the gun can get blocked ,by the way how did you get your arms so greased/oiled up , did you just the motor in your camper?
No matter how neat you try to be it's always messy. With all the tractors I have, I could sure use your help with there maintenance.
BUDDY LIGHT Yes, hard to not get greasy when maneuvering all up under there!
Great video as usual, Pippi! We are all awaiting your next "how to clean the grease off" video! Haha
chip leach Haha, great one! :D
You amaze me! I think I'm in love.
terry3193 Get in line.
azimuth361 lol
Use Lucas Red N Tacky. That's what I've used on my RV, boat, tractors, and vehicles for 10+ years and haven't looked back. It's waterproof and stays where you put it.
She's working that SHAFT
Thanks for a other great video 😊
Wally Bermudez Thanks Wally! :)
wow you are the cutest little grease monkey I ever saw. nice video.
I'll second that one.
Great video. Have you ever thought about getting a pneumatic grease gun? It uses a compressor and a hose. Harbor freight sells them for pretty cheap. If you want to go the cordless route, Milwaukee has a m12 one. These are a lot faster than an old fashioned one. Greasing isn't the most fun task there ever was. Lol.
good videol, I alway wonder how to do it correctly and now I know, thanks.
Good to hear :D
Thanks for the info. Been fixing cars trucks and anything with a motor since 96 but I cant figure out a grease gun.
You are such a cool Lady .
Hi Pippi sent me a kiss. Nice video!!. Thanks for sharing this.
so cute, looks like the grease may be winning 😂
Hi Pippi! Have you found any limitations using the 3 oz vs a 14 oz size? I know the larger ones can deliver higher psi, but I am wondering if you have found any applications where the 3 oz just couldn't deliver. The clear advantage of the 3 oz is space savings... especially when travelling by RV =)
Thank you for the very informative video!
good explanation now I know how to do, but before I try to understand but I had failed to understand, maybe because I have a Spanish cow stuck in my head , thnak U Pippi , nice video and U too , U are very pretty .
thanks for the video.
You bet, thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing
linda vannatta Thanks for watching :D
Thank You
Great video, thanks!
+Tony Unica You bet, thanks for watching!
thank you
It is awesome seeing a girl not only do this, but do it right. How it works in real life is after you load the tube of grease, the catch slips and launches you new tube of grease into the gravel driveway at mach 76.
lol
lol
😂
Thanks Pippi, you might want a long sleeve shirt... LOL
I like to throw a vise grip on the rod after its locked, especially for the guns where they lock to the side. I've seen more than a few people bump the rod and launch a new tube of grease into the dirt.
You are unbelievable . You were the grease well.
