I saw this game in a Sheldon shirt (From the the big bang theory) and recited how much fun I had playing it, that's why I came to watch the video. thanks for uploading it.
Back in the very early 1980's I had an Intellivision console and numerous game cartriges. Out of all the different cartriges this one Astrosmash was the one everyone in my family wanted to play more than any other game.
Man ... I remembered waking up in the middle of the night but couldn't get back to bed. So I popped this game into my intellivision (probably wasn't conducive to sleep) and played this game for a loooong time. With the lights off, the changing background color from the game, bounce & reflected off the walls in my room. Where had all the time gone? It didn't seemed like it was long ago.
What a blast, I recall all these games after all these years. The sound effects in this game are epic. The explosions and fragments were non stop fun. Those were the days, what memories.
I remember playing this one evening and my score was heading to be a record breaker with so many lives and points......then the electric meter ran out of cash and I lost it all. Thanks Mum for not topping up the meter lol
My high score was around 1.3 million with 255 players saved up. I just had to stop the game out of sheer exhaustion and everybody was getting mad at me for hogging the TV. Lol
You can download Astrosmash LEGALLY and play it on your mac or windows pc by going to intellivisionlives dot com and then clicking on the "download" tab.
It's like watching a 23 minute video of my childhood!
Me too.

Can't believe you couldn't get to the black sky again! Thanks for the video. Brings me back to my childhood...
Astrosmash was my favorite game for Intellivision.
I used to play this game so much in the early 80s.
