JOE SHMO This is the best description I've heard for this place.
This and Earthquake both get bad wraps for being a waste of time, but we enjoyed doing both. They are old school attractions and are still awesome. Same as Jurassic boat ride in PF. They all remind me of visiting the area with my folks when I was young. I hope they never go away.
Fox we just went back in September. We must have a good day because everything was working. There were s couple we thought were broke at first, however they just were very slow to be triggered. If ya gave it a few minutes the “illusion” did work.
Unfortunately World Of Illusions is now closed.
Closed? Too many visitors shocked by the fantastic illusions?

I love it when the outside/line area is as exciting as the actual ride/attraction is !!

It was the highlight of the now closed attracttion...
I used to think this place was so awesome when I was a kid! Made my parents go through it at least once per trip to Gatlinburg. I'm torn between thinking they should update a good portion of it to keep business afloat or keep it exactly the same in all its eighties glory, which is the conflict I feel about pretty much all of downtown Gatlinburg. I can't see most kids appreciating this kind of thing nowadays.
I love how entirely random this place is. I went with my family years ago and it was our favorite just for how...unique? It was. Lol
My favorite vampire is Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
As run down and as tacky as it may be, this is my favorite attraction in Gatlinburg. So many bizarre and creepy vibes and has literally sat unchanged since the mid 80s
But now it is closed...
I didn't see Frankenstein in the window, just Frankenstein's monster...

I seem to recall that those lightning disk were a thing in the late 80's or early 90's. You might still find them on Spencer Gifts site. If I'm not mistaken, one of those disk was also inside the Delorian in Back to the Future.

I remember going through this back in the 80s. Not too much has changed in there over the last 30+ years. I do remember when the genie in the bottle illusion was outside by the entrance and they'd have an actor in there dressed as a genie talking to passersby, trying to lure them to visit the attraction.

Could swear that the werewolf illusion was part of the old ' world of the unexplained ' museum in Gatlinburg. I remember it being a bit scarier though... scarier than even Corey Feldman 😂 plus I can remember behind it and up the stairs was a wax museum . Very nostalgic 😀

Glad to see they have fixed the illusions so they all seem to work. I went through it couple years ago and about half the illusions were broken.

Wow,They really need some maintenance on some of the peeling paint / surface rust on a few places..& some updating on printed display signs. Maybe seeing this video,i They will address the issues. Example: 1800ad......... Love the video and Illusion Meusem ..

I honestly don't know if I want to do this or not. Every time I'm there, I keep threatening to do it. I guess sometimes I just have to throw money away. Especially on terrible things that exist. I want my mind to be blasted with illusions!
