I've had this realization talking to others and this is why I wanted to share my own experiences. It's so important to talk about to know we aren't alone :) I am so happy to hear that you were able to push past your struggles in life as well! It takes a very strong person to do it!
This has been so interesting to me. I’m a freelance creative and have adopted a child as a single adopter. I prioritise high-quality food, trips and hobbies for my boy over new car, etc, do my own home DIY. I’m glad that this has been a thing in your upbringing also. I don’t use credit card (or pay in full end of month) and have a big emergency fund so that my boy feels safe financially.

I am a mom of 3 little ones and I understand it’s not for everyone to be a parent, but it’s also not true that being a stay at home parent would have you feeling like you’re unproductive, and it’s quite the opposite. You may have it all as a parent, just maybe not all at the same time. The time period of being a stay at home with your little one is only for a season and I’ve personally have chosen to cherish it. My school program was supposed to be 2 years but I got pregnant twice 😂 so after 4 years I’ve finally finished my course.
Aww thank you so much! Congrats on finishing makeup school - that's an amazing accomplishment :) I apologize if that statement about being a stay at home mom came off wrong! I was moreso saying that statement from my own perspective and what would align with my life the best. Almost all of my friends have kids and absolutely love it and stay quite busy! That's great that you've managed to still go for your goals while being a mom :)
I really appreciate your realness, I think your story aligns with so many young gal experiences out there (definitely mine haha), you definitely have rose-coloured glasses on which (idk about you) I spent the next 2 years unpacking in therapy ahhahaha (10 years later). Handling money is such an important thing to learn, same with sexual health (includes the mental side too!) and healthy relationships which i defs did not learn from my family ahahaha (sigh). Proud of your growth & thankful for your advice and stories :)

Omg I cannot even grasp the concept of having to live off of credit cards all the time and having 'credit scores' as a means to measure my 'wealth' or something? I Belgium we don't have this, it isn't even allowed to go as far as people do in the US. Let alone tens of thousands of dollars in student loans... We mostly pay for things in cash or with a checking or savings account. That's unheard of here. Our yearly college costs are at most € 700 dollars maybe... A lot of it is funded by the government of course, that helps too.

If you can afford it getting a financial planner is smart or start putting a small amount of money aside after each paycheck. Some banks even have an auto transfer to help you save money :)
