Literally every Samsung flagship has had a firmware update in the first 60 days to improve the camera since the s6. People reviewing the camera before that update are all going to tell you the camera isn't good. This happens every Samsung generation. The update that made the s10 and note 10 cameras good came on day 56.

I already knew Note 10 and S10 have brighter images but overexpose highlights. S20 is a bit darker in shadows but highlights are better. S20 have more contrast and a bit more sharpening. It depends on personal preference. I have both phones and think S20+ is a bit better.

This type of comparison should be done from the very beginning. People that has last year or previous years model would like to know is worth the upgrade. It is hard to get anyone to switch platform. That's why I don't understand all these Iphone comparison.
Because people like to see how it stacks up to some of the best rn and the 11 promax is the latest from one of the top companies. These arent just for ppl that want to upgrade.
@@userhatesyou7484 Well the note 10, one plus and huawei were some of the best out there too. Of course the iphone is the biggest name out there. But as an Android user, the iphone comparison is not going to persuade me to switch platform. Even if Iphone is better in a lot of category, I still wouldn't jump over to IOS. I had the note 10 plus and s10 plus. When they first released the s20, my first request was to compare to last year S-series. Before I do any pre order, I wanted to know if it is worth it. Never buy a phone for what it "might" do in the future...... While I don't doubt Samsung could fix some of the issues, we've heard promises from other manufacturers who've underdelivered on camera improvements before. Then there is indeed the price, and the fact their cheaper options currently perform better in a lot of cases
@King Marco Louis III then they should have tested it on a "A" series. The s20/s20+ are better than the ultra. The note 10+ is no chump at all. If I want a night time shot of the stars then I'm going into "pro mode" on my note 10+. I don't care to take pictures of random things at night. The note 20 ultra will come with the software fixes and probably a different lens for the camera to help produce the shots the s20 ultra should be taking. Big fail for Samsung on this over marketed "new" camera on the ultra. This is the first year I'm skipping the new note series phone. Note 10+ 5g cost too much just to sell for $600. Depreciation is a biych for Samsung devices.
since this review they patched with software. The S20 Ultra is still a superior phone.. I can say this because I own both the S20 Ultra and the Note 10+ and I switch between them every few days. And have been for the past while. I do like the note 10 plus spen tho. The s pen is sick. I have real-world constant experience. And the s20 Ultra camera is still better. It is newer. With a bigger lense. And it is apparent when you put them side-by-side. I'm not bashing either device because I love them both. The S20 ultra has a 108MP sensor. They did not have the correct settings set on the S20 or S20 Ultra. In order to get the best pictures you have to go to the best lense array. And you can switch between them. NVM! these guys are good. basically they're saying the results vary depending on the settings. Which they are changing up. because there is instances where the s20 Ultra was way better. Every phone does something better differently
ive watched a few videos, i think i'll change my mind getting an ultra, and go for the plus, mainly as theres a LOT of issues involving the camera and focus. lol
Yeah, but this is what an average consumer wouldn't do. Most people would just point and shoot. So they don't do pro mode. In pro mode the images would be sooo much better
Damn man, Samsung really need to work out some big camera updates for the S20 series especially for that ultrawide which has noticeable worse dynamic range
@W J Pro mode is good but it doesn't have HDR, even the raw photos have a ton of chromal noise and the details you can pull out of the shadows and highlights aren't any better than a regular jpeg, so there is no point except if you want to capture low ISO shots or long exposures
@W J look, that shitty excuse only works for fanboys.... A person buying 1400$ phone won't accept a phone which can't auto focus ot have bad exposure, and not every moment last long enough to use pro mode so shut up, that's a no excuse.... It requires software updates and you can't change that

Well done guys. As always, an excellent review and the most successful format. I, like all owners of the Samsung s20 ultra, are very upset by the current camera capabilities. Maybe you are testing a synchronizer that will help control large flash pulses and in the studio? Is it time to put your SLR camera in a box and start using the phone as a professional tool? Thanks! Don’t worry. This comparison doesn’t match up to most others. Idk if they just couldn’t keep their hand still or they don’t know how to use all the ultras features, but the ultras camera is WAY better than this video showed. Btw, have you got the ultra yet?
I've been using the Ultra now for nearly a month, the camera's (& Video) are excellent. I went to London last night actually & got to use the Night Mode, fantastic pics where captured!, the detail is excellent. I'm VERY happy with the Ultra despite it's score. 👍

Hi there. I just ordered a new Note 10+. Yes, it's actually March 2021 by now, but the price is great and I guess that the value in total remains somewhat future proof and reliable. 😁👌Wanted to get the S21 Ultra, but the camera has major problems in Europe (Exynos Chip)... So the Note 10+ actually is the best alternative right now, when it comes to samsung as a brand and the big display size.
Note 10+ is cut from a different cloth 🔥, Note 10+ is a certified beast ,confirmed GOAT 🐐, only upgrade worth upgrading to from that is the S21 ULTRA , the fact that it took the release of the S21 ULTRA to dethrone the Note 10+ just proves what a beast of a phone the Note is , even the design is elite🔥🔥
Those with the Note10+ better not update their phone hahaha Samsung might degrade its camera quality if they realized that the S20 cannot produce as good of a quality

Bro this guy is a apple fan I've seen lot's of vids and s20 ultra and 20 plus looks way im pretty sure he is faking that those good pictures are from note 10 plus
As a Note 10+ owner I'm very happy with the camera performance on auto, but even just learning to adjust the exposure for different shots can make the shots on the 10+ even better, and on pro mode you can have exposures up to 30 seconds.
You guys are doing the best camera reviews on the ultra. Amazing how the note stacks up. Do you think it's software or hardware for the ultra? You think an update will fix it?
I think the brand new hardware, as in new Samsung sensor instead of Sony on the main lens, and telephoto lens with very dark aperture. This type of hardware makes it really tough to fix with software. 8K video can just barely run, at only 24fps and without decent autofocus. I think they can slowly improve it over time but it won’t be enough to make it great. The more traditional S20+ will most likely perform better in terms of the camera even after weeks of software updates. -Vadim
Imo that phone is compromised from a hardware perspective and this is why the results are far from perfect even after updates. Massive overkill just to compete with the Chinese brands on the specs front but the product is not ready for market with unpolished hardware. I was going to swap my P30 pro for the S20 Ultra at launch as I was falling for their marketing but decided to wait which was a very good decision because this phone is just an abosulute rip off. The P40 pro, on the camera front, is going to kick its arse even with pre-release software, it's going to be unbarrassing for Samsung. No GMS = Not for me unfortunately which is a big big shame.
As a note 9 user, it's so interesting how the more expensive and hyped ULTRA didn't do as well compared to the formers. Sometimes newer isn't always better.
Software wont help if the lenses are the main problem. Software updatr is just to add remove or fix preset algorithms that process the photo inside the cam apk file.
Great comparison!! Honestly, I'm shocked at how poorly the Ultra performed. I've been going back and forth between the S20+ and the Note 10+ for weeks now, trying to decide which to get, and this didn't help. I think I'm still going for the Note 10+. I have not been impressed with the camera updates on my S20 Ultra up until this latest one. Auto focus finally works without having to manually touch where to focus, and macro mode looks AMAZING. Worth a 2nd look for sure, finally.
Love my S20 Plus, Works for me and I don't regret the purchase. The pics I've taken with it has been stunning.
Ditto Im impressed plus id be pissed if I bought the ultra and then I cant even record videos without focus going in and out and the pics on the s20 plus tend to look better... Sure software updates will fix issues and improve it but it will also improve the s20 plus as well. Im happy with what I got thats for sure.
it reminds me of pixel's camera. sharp and contrasty kinda look..
Going for the Note 10+ I feel more allround quality there in the whole phone.

I already knew Note 10 and S10 have brighter images but overexpose highlights. S20 is a bit darker in shadows but highlights are better.
S20 have more contrast and a bit more sharpening. It depends on personal preference.
I have both phones and think S20+ is a bit better.
Agreed. The S20+ is the perfect middle ground (imo).
I’d like to see s10+ vs s20+ just to see how different they really are
the s20 plus and ultra just came out so the camera might be a little wonky but just like the note 10 the camera should get better with software improvements
I just got my 10+ today but WAS contemplating returning it for the Ultra. Mmm no, y'all saved me 400$ I'm keeping it! 💪
But every you tubers put up this Iphone comparison in their first video.
@@hienho15 this is a bad review straight up, the positions and lighting of ALL the photos were different, some at visibly different times of the day, then they would make the decision based on the light/shadow quality. @@santioliva then what is your opinion of the phone
4:56 this is where Note 10 plus did extremely well
the HDR and autofocus issues will be fix in software updates.
A $1400 dollar phone shouldn't have any problems
King Marco Louis III they do use different lenses periodically that produce same megapixel. I’m not talking about the sensor itself.
@King Marco Louis III really?
since this review they patched with software. Every phone does something better differently
ive watched a few videos, i think i'll change my mind getting an ultra, and go for the plus, mainly as theres a LOT of issues involving the camera and focus. lol
The Pro mode of note 10+ can go to 30 seconds.
Yeah, but this is what an average consumer wouldn't do. Most people would just point and shoot. So they don't do pro mode. In pro mode the images would be sooo much better
@ Twodollar King indeed they are..
Average consumer wouldn't go around carrying a tripod either
@@twodollarking8009 its even better than pixel when shooting in Pro with raw enabled
@ Kee Law you are right Neither would ANY human be able to hand hold an 8 second photo so what are you trying to say?
Damn man, Samsung really need to work out some big camera updates for the S20 series especially for that ultrawide which has noticeable worse dynamic range
And the auto focus
@W J Pro mode is good but it doesn't have HDR, even the raw photos have a ton of chromal noise and the details you can pull out of the shadows and highlights aren't any better than a regular jpeg, so there is no point except if you want to capture low ISO shots or long exposures
@W J look, that shitty excuse only works for fanboys.... A person buying 1400$ phone won't accept a phone which can't auto focus ot have bad exposure, and not every moment last long enough to use pro mode so shut up, that's a no excuse.... It requires software updates and you can't change that
@@sagardahiya6138 The update for improved autofocus has been released for the Exynos variants, the S20 and S20 + have great autofocus but the ultra due to a normal pdaf and not a dual pixel type paired with that big sensor with narrow focussing range still seems to have trouble

Well done guys. As always, an excellent review and the most successful format. I, like all owners of the Samsung s20 ultra, are very upset by the current camera capabilities. The phone is already officially sold, but I still have no firmware camera errors. This is very strange and a blow to Samsung's image. I do not want to be a tester of a non-finished product for my money. Thank you again for the excellent format and unbiased overview and comparison of the cameras of these phones. I have a request, please do a review and comparison of the capabilities of cameras for studio shooting of female portraits. It is very important to detail and transfer the texture of the skin. Which phone does this better? Is it possible to shoot fashion photos and stylish portraits in a studio with a constant source of light from lamps, or from a window? Maybe you are testing a synchronizer that will help control large flash pulses and in the studio? Is it time to put your SLR camera in a box and start using the phone as a professional tool? Thanks! With friendly greetings from Russia from Moscow, Ilya.

I also love that you‘re open minded for other flagships than Apple‘s iPhones. It‘s always good to know and see what companies offer, though I am more than happy with my iPhone 11 Pro. The software, eco system and camera are everything I could ask for. When it comes to pure design though, I‘d prefer the current Samsung flagships, I guess. Always happy to watch your channel.

4:30 would go with S20+ not the Ultra, imagine how he preferred Ultra, I like the colors more on S20+, the boy looks alive. And the first video also looks better IMO on the left one, it has worse stabilization and HDR is flat but you see way more details, though the dynamic range is better
Also at 12:32 I would pick the S20+ pic over the S20 Ultra.
the white balance is off on the s20+
It would be nice to make a new video comparing PRO RAW photography/videography between the same phones!!!

Definitely a Samsung move. S9 and S10 have same lens, but S9 photography is so degraded.

As a Note 10+ owner I'm very happy with the camera performance on auto, but even just learning to adjust the exposure for different shots can make the shots on the 10+ even better, and on pro mode you can have exposures up to 30 seconds.
Is it still relevant
This is a masterpiece, you guys.. Great concept, amazing execution, mindblowing result!
