i really REALLY loved the broadway cast recording of the soundtrack, i really did, the cast is SUPER strong and talented and the new songs/new dialogue/new everything is SO GOOD, i really wanted to do animatics for it when it first came out but h a h a s c h o o l i s a n i g h t m a r e

ah i have so many conflicting feelings about the broadway additions and tunes
on one hand i think it’s great that they evolved on characters and give people more personality but
on the other i feel like some of it just disrupts the flow that the original had
i feel like the broadway and off broadway shows are so separate and different and i don’t know how i feel about it lmao
at first i wasnt really feelin the broadway version but it grew on me! and generally i think its just really cool to see that a fandom revived a musical and got it ON BROADWAY, just cause they,,, liked it a lot :,D

I've always loved how Michael isn't in the background of "I'm tired of being the person that everyone thinks that I am". He's just a blip in high school; he's got it better than Jeremy, since he isn't bullied, but he's still got it worse than Rich or Jake. He's never had to lie about who he is, because in the end, the only person he had to turn to was Jeremy.
Your art style fits this musical so well I can’t-
They way you captured Brooke when she said "you looked at me", it made me appreciate her more. To everyone, shes seen as the side chick, the one that everyone looks over because everyone likes Chloe. She seemed genuinely happy when she said it, and when you showed it. So for once, she felt like she wasnt the person everyone thought she was, because someone noticed her /first/.
if you listen closely when jake first says "thinks that i am" he pronounces the s with a lisp and thats quirky amirite

I love how the screen starts turning purple. It helps establish a crowded sort of vibe? Where everyone is spiralling and you realize how weighed down everyone feels. It’s a stroke of creative genius. Lovely work as always, ohitscosmo :))

OH MY GOSH, WHEN BROOKE WAS VENTING TO JEREMY I STARTED TO GET REALLY EMOTIONAL BECAUSE I LOVE HER SO MUCH, AND AAA THIS IS REALLY GOOD.
I love that "I'm tired of being the person that everyone thinks that I am" part cause in the performance, the squip gets up on the bleachers and looks around at everyone as they say that. and you can fucking see the gear turning in his head (pun not intended) of just like "oh shit dude I just had the greatest idea ever"

Can I just say that I absolutely love the fact that rich is turned away from the camera when he’s singing? The way I’ve interpreted it is that he *was* tired of being the person everyone though he was. And so he got a squip. But now, he hates who he is. He doesn’t wanna be the way he’s become but he feels stuck because that’s what people expect of him. And he doesn’t feel like he can tell anyone because part of who is is not being vulnerable. GOsH sorry I didn’t explain that well but I hope y’all get what I mean

Upgrade was my favorite song from the original cast and I think they made a lot of unnessesary changes, especially removing the Micheal interlude from the album. But just like seeing it on Broadway (which none of us will get to do), you get to see all the characters and that makes up for it. Also nice job with the characters they look awesome!!

I loved the way Jeremy started to be surrounded by everyone with the same feeling, like he was suddenly being exposed to this HUGE thing that he never bothered to see before. I loved the way you drew the characters because it’s such a charming style and your art is just TREZ MAGNIFEEK. I loved how the final beat was like “OH HEY MICHAEL” and then it just ENDED and went STRAIGHT into the Amino stories announcement. Just,,,, SUCH GOOD WORK I AM IN LOVE.

This is so good! I’m sad that BMC is closing on Broadway. I have got the chance to see it but through all of these wonderful animatics that people make plus the epic soundtracks, I can feel like I’m there. And I can definitely relate to this song:) Awesome job!

I honestly love the broadway version more than the original. Some of the changes I feel aren't really necessary, but on the other hand I feel like Will Roland shows a lot more emotion than Will Connoly did. Another reason I prefer the broadway version is that there's so much more detail and character development than there was in the original. This is honestly one of my favorite scenes as well, all of them sound so good togethEr! Everybody has their own opinions, but that's just mine lmao
