- The long term goal for Elon Musk and brain to computer interfaces (brain chips) is to merge our minds with artificial intelligence. While the short term goal for Neuralink and other companies is to help people with medical issues.
This short documentary video takes a look at connecting our brains to computers, and how this works is explained. We also take a look at the downsides of people connecting their brains, the technology being used today, and Elon Musk's thoughts.

@Vik Divine when you think it creates a flow of electrons through your brain synapses. Anytime there's a flow of electrons it creates magnetic waves which are transmitted through space. If the headphones are equipped with coils to pick up the transmitted signals and they have designed equipment to interpret them they should be able to read your thoughts. Hopefully that's some time away but I have little doubt that it's coming at some point.

I am honestly not sure how much of a stepping stone it really is though. After watching their presentation I'm thoroughly confused why anyone would take them seriously in the BMI space.

So much wrong with this sentiment. Firstly, it sounds like you're saying Neuralink will be able to do a tenth of the things he's promising it will. It won't. Secondly, Neuralink has like 8 other founders all of whom are experts in Neuroscience and BMI technology. Musk is the least qualified of any of them yet is given the most attention and credit when talking about Neuralink. Musk is just a capitalist at the end of the day. He is chasing profit, not the betterment of humanity.

It's like once the neuralink is installed to our brains, everything we think comes to existence, like to turn on light, to play the type of music we want to listen etc.. which is all good, but it is also scary too. Cause most of the times human thoughts are negative. Linking our brains to Neuralink might help people with medical issues but also merges our brains to A.I, which could turn us into less of a human, which is scarier.

What does this have to do with a device made to give you instant access to knowledge?
Mind-up/downloading among various computers and biological/mechanical bodies will be the ultimate artificial evolution.
Unexpectedly, I found even BMI such as Neuralink will be the candidate of epoch-making technology for the coming space age.
The reason is that connective technologies among people & artifacts can vastly improve full-scale space development.

Don't forget, when you're wired to computers and technology, a memory that is undesirable can be permanently deleted, the choice to try and work through and process the memory or to just get rid of it will be up to the person and possibly any therapist that is helping them, in some cases it might be better to process traumatic or painful memories, but if they feel like your mind just gets stuck because of them, then maybe deleting the memories might be better. The downfall of that is if you don't leave yourself a message explaining what the memory was from and why you got rid of it, then you naturally will want to know what you forgot, the human brain already can do this in a way, but it usually leaves people with fractured minds or other people in your head so that you don't remember, it usually happens at a young age also. It's also possible that if you have a lot of control of things in your brain, it is possible to biologically erase the memories, all you have to do is trace the synaptic patterns that are formed by that memory and focus on changing or breaking the pattern, but it takes a lot of knowledge about how your brain works.

Then again, I have memories that I don’t like remembering but on a normal day, I like working with a clean mind. So just like a RAM, my brain functions well without having to remember everything at once.
The issue now is unnaturally changing how my brain functions can cause irreversible effects I can’t risk.

Anyone who has been through traumatic things knows dreams are a way to process and forget those things in a way that allows us to instinctually react if similar circumstances happen again.
It wouldn't be healthy to remember all these dreams, forgetting is what makes instincts possible and faster.
