I almost lost my right leg in a motorcycle wreck 20 years ago. My lower knee knuckle was shattered into about twenty pieces and my tibia and fibula were both sticking through my Levis. I was a mess and they were going to amputate until one of the trauma surgeons suggested flying down to Denver General Hospital My surgeon was Dr. Wade Smith who ended up installing a device called an Ilizerov. It's an external fixator that basically held my leg together for about 6 months. My bones all healed and I have even done a 10K run, albeit slowly. The man is a genius!!! I owe him a lot for his fantastic work! When I was still in the hospital, he used to bring his students in to see me, or at least my leg because he'd never worked on a leg as badly messed up as mine! Thank you Wade!!!
This is actually very pessimistic because what's going to happen this is the government's going to keep printing these fake brains or whatever you're going to get a prosthetic of and manipulate it like a robot for control however the side effects of making Prosthetics is that we can heal people that have issues with their parts that originally lost them its kind of like a universal income

Well, I don’t think anyone in their right mind would want to get rid of their natural blood supply, aka their long bones... I think bioengineering is a better investment on the long run, as you can maintain the complicated and efficient parts of an organic system while simultaneously upgrading it when needed. Also, maybe mechanics and biotech will just continue to inspire each other in every area instead of one taking over the other over time.
The partial brain or almost complete 3d printed brain, may be used in uplifting animals. Prosthetics or implanting brain tissues in animals to enhance them or make them more intelligent will follow these sciences. It has its pros/cons too.
Abosulety love your videos, the amount of effort and work you put into it is awesome, and the information regarding this video is similar to the topic I recently used for my bionics essay(did pretty good). At about the one minute mark, the narrator said, "may be able to p3D print parts to make someone super strong or super fast". You may be able to increase strength, but, except for STRONGER leg muscles, you will not get super speed. To have that, you would need to enhance vision and other senses to be able to use that speed. To run really fast, you must be able to see what is ahead of you quickly enough to plan your route around stationary and very slow-moving objects. Think of "The Flash" in comic books or films. He has to see not only what is in front of him now, but what will be in front of him by the time he makes it to the next corner, and the next, etc. I might see what's around me and can see TO the next corner, but not beyond that. Even his sense of touch would need to be changed so that it would not fry at the temperatures to be encountered by skin friction and such.
kids have been doing that for about 10 years so they can feel what its like to be 'disabled' only its not so fun when they found out the world hates disabled people.

1:99 apwith atom formers, both the materials and electronics abd brainmatter all printed at once in each 3d printed product(also via neural helmet , phone app, controls whatever) and af allows 3d print of any materials beyond plastics abd metal!
As someone who took 3D prints a ton, i see where things are going, entry point to 3D printing is much less than 25% of current flagship phones. The patent for metal 3D printing expired and is public domain, price drops every year due to competition and cheaper means of production of the printers. The price of a metal 3D printer went from infinity to roughly the price of a car, in a year it will be a fraction of that and so on. However a regular person can make a 3D printed arm limb straight out of Science Fiction with the issue being the censors. 3D printing body parts even if they aren't organic requires other fields to catch up, 3D printing is ready as is and Columbia University created a heart from stem cells. Things are getting fun You need a high bandwidth direct to the brain connection otherwise all you have is a pretty hook like a pirate and some motors. I'm convinced that we will be able to 3D print organs within a decade or less *TAKE EVERYTHING I SAID AS MY OPINION!*
Growing organs and missing limbs is also something in the future which is possible and extending human lifespans also or putting your 🧠 in a cybernetic or artificial body and etc… is all possible future technologies. Just imagine in the future no need for donors since we can just grow you new heart or etc..
Yep that the terrifying/thrilling question that we all wanna know, is there a way for humans to achieve immortality? Not the religious interpretation we are taught in church, but through science, an absolute concrete case of evidence. And if so, how do we continue this million ppl born everyday not exact on the numbers but we never die and keep increasing the population. I robot was a great movie to show how artificial intelligence could possibly end mankind altogether. Jus movies? Or a terrifying true foresight that they are slowly painting.
