Thank you for posting this, I just finished my playthrough a couple of days ago, and i was so heavily emotionally invested in the game that the ending left me feelings emotionally exhausted...and when I went to play the Final Draft I realized the game just repeats itself and I just wasn't ready to replay it just yet...but I had to know what happened to Logan, to Alice, to Alan...goodness. I might replay it soon on Final Draft, especially now that I know the Final Draft ending is so much more fulfilling and satisfying than the original! What an intense but amazing game!
I couldn’t help but smile finally hearing Logan answer. But I can’t help but feel this just isn’t even close to being over. Scratch might be gone but that was just The Dark Presence creating something to mess with Alan. That resonance is still out there creating noise. It’s not just as simple as getting rid of the stage one boss when the mastermind is still out there. The Dark Place still exists and there’s no way it’s completely shut off. We have seen what happens when it combines with The Hiss with Heartmans story…it’s still connected to at least The Oceanview motel in many thresholds if not by other means like Cauldron Lake or minor Overlaps we used in AW2 or worst the projector in Control with a slide that may just yet be discovered. We have won the battle and this is a great calm but the war isn’t over and the true storm hasn’t even started. That scares me. What happens when The Hiss gets out of The Oldest House, spreads like wildfire with The Darkness still being able to cross realities? What if Northmore breaks out or worse gets infected by The Hiss and The Dark Presence?! Some writer struggling to control his own stories, Jessie and Polaris are not equipped to fight such things. What is Alex Casey going to detective his way into slow mode shooting at it while the FBC is trying to do damage control not even knowing what Mr. Door is even trying to do outside of all this mess? Dr. Darling…we need you back buddy. You are one of our only hopes. The trilogy has been finished, however that was only the first few chapters of this Space Oddity Odyssey.
I was a drunk and a drug addict for years.. I've been clean for a while now.. This game, in part, seems an allegory for fighting addiction.. The revelation at the end, that it is not a loop, it is in fact a spiral, is a revelation that many cured addicts can attest to.. Along with the strange, dark and ominous journey that Alan has gone through, this too is very much juxtaposed with fighting demons within.. A more poetic display of this war, I have not seen in this medium.. Bravo...
Differently hits different when you tie it to mental illness/addictions allegory. When I think about that I even prefer the original ending more. The “it’s a spiral” totally felt very hopeful giving us clarity that we can make it out of whatever darkness that hold us
Good to hear that you overcame addiction and are well. I also think that the Dark Place is an allegory that refers to our within demons. I was looking for people's interpretation of the Dark Place and it is interesting to see how it varies base on people's own experiences. I related the Dark Place to depression, something that I was diagnosed some years ago.
You know what is neat here... the fact that you get NEW stuff from NEW game + Another loop, or better yet after another trip down the spiral. A bit of meta thrown in. Love the detail :D
The detail in these games is absolutely insane. All of the connections to every other game, even one that is technically not in universe, but definitely connected. When I realized Tim Breaker meant "Time Breaker" I lost it. Don't know how I didn't realize that before. Most of all I just love how everyone who is a part of this project seems to genuinely love it. They seem so proud of what they have done and they should be. It's brilliant and ridiculous and all of the things I love. I grew up on Evil Dead and every other Bruce Campbell comedy horror. These games balance the comedy and horror so well. I'll admit, Control is still my favorite game in the series. It's the most fun because you just get to fling giant boulders at people possessed and mutated by an inter dimensional resonance, I just wish they added a NG+. Have played that game up and down, there is always something new to find, though, so I keep replaying. Literally cannot think of a single playthrough I didn't find some new file connected to Alan Wake, or find a new hidden room. It's a great game and awesome connections to Alan Wake that shed a lot of light on things, but also still leaves new questions. It's fantastic. This game is a very close second, it was everything I was hoping for. 13 years we waited. I am so excited for the new DLC coming out in October. This series deserves all of the awards. I really hope they continue with Control 2 and maybe just have it completing the Alan Wake story. Possibly having Jesse help Alan somehow. Either way, I will consume any content they put out. Even if they gave us a little crumb sized game like Alan Wake's American Nightmare to keep us satisfied. Lol
not gonna lie, that ending with the phone ringing was a 10/10, but still glad "almost" everything is over now, i cannot wait for the sequel, this was easily one of my fav games of the past year
"The master of many worlds". I have a feeling he meant all Remedy's games's worlds by that cuz we know they're connected. But...what about Alice? Did she stuck in the Dark Place...AGAIN? Or did she die? I hope they give answers in the DLCs.
Bro if Alan died there is he woke up in dark place ? I mean Alan was in real world and saga shoot him right and if Alan really died ,can he woke up in dark place ?@@ozfroggirl9221
This gives me thoughts about how the Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake will be done. I’m guessing Sam Lake is not just remaking Max Payne, but bringing Max to the Remedy Universe. Alan is rewriting Mona Sax in 2, in that she doesn’t die.
I just finished the game and I wasn't expecting this ending to be in the new game plus. I'm happy, and here I though I won't get to see a good ending for Saga. I started crying when I heard Logan's voice.
There was something that just felt so, fulfilling about the ending. Waiting the weeks to get ng+. Seeing all the new clues and messages. Watching Alan realise sooner than he did the first time around. To finally getting a good ending to alans story. I cannot wait to see what control 2 has in store
god this is amazing.. one thing worries me though, does this mean alice is now the one stuck in the dark place? also i feel like this quite ends well alan wake 2, not sure how else this could continue in alan wake 3 like we all thought from the first ending (maybe saving alice or something like that? trying to get rid of the dark place completely?), but also there's many questions still, with tom zane for example

They need to rework the combat mechanics but overall I was really engaged playing this. Melanie Liburd (Saga) did a wonderful job fleshing out Saga. I wish they would come out with a dlc that acts as a precursor to the Max Payne remake and I would like to see saga in control 2.
Just finished the game, and wasn't really happy with the ending. Found out there's a true ending, but I'm not gonna replay it again for another 20 hours. Ain't nobody got for that lol. This ending is much better.
I understand the symbolism behind alan working with saga to finish the story in the end but it felt so cheap that saga capable of so many things Alan needed a dacade to do
The way this sets up as a possible trilogy is practically brilliant. The third game could potentially serve as both a prequel to the first game and a sequel to 2 all at the same time and loop everything back together.
I am happy with this ending for Saga. Alan isn't done yet. The biggest mystery in this series still hasn't been resolved, and that would be the connection between Thomas Zane and Alan Wake. This game addressed A LOT of the lingering threads from this first one but the Zane plotline is even more unclear now. Especially considering Zane got in touch with Dr. Darling, and that has HORRIFIC implications.
Okay also if Remedy makes a third game, I think it would be amazing to see Alan and Alice working together/apart to escape a dark place. I love the idea of Alice’s photography capturing moments of time and things. I had this idea, which might be inspired by that Blairewitch game (I think), where Alice takes photos from a certain angle, and if someone where to find that correct angle and raise the printed photo to it, it could reset that scene. Maybe Alice and Alan are like two ships in the night, passing by in overlap-like instances, but kept apart in two separate realities. Maybe, Alan has written something but doesn’t know why or can’t remember, and Alice keeps finding pages on her side. She takes pictures to capture them, then hides the picture and leaves clues for him to find it on his side of things. Just a game where it’s them trying to reach each other but kept at arms length, once in a while maybe breaking through to the other side for a boss fight before getting separated. I love the idea of them being a power couple, cause they got it in them😂
Very rarely have I desired to play a game all the way through right after I finished it. But narratively this made perfect sense. There were even subtle differences throughout the final draft. When Saga said she wanted this story to be written to save everyone, I believe that it did, even though you didn’t get to see everyone like Jaakko and Alice and Cynthia. But this ending was worth it, just to know Logan was alive and well.
Thank you for this, I don’t have the will for an entire play through just for this but it’s nice to see it. Still what happened to the sherif guy? and the old rockers?
Breaker remains as lost as ever. But there is another conversation with the Old Gods near the end. They're staying in the lake, but they implied that they're in on it, that Zane/Alan let them know about the role they were going to play.
Giving some much needed closure but just enough room for questions with no answers. Anticipation man! I was lucky to have discovered the first game by finding stuff about the second, and it’s been a huge spiral (hehe) from there on out. The Alan Wake games have become one of my top favoirte games of all time. Right up there with Twilight Princess and Red Dead Redemption2! I do wish we saw a scene after the Final Draft credits of Alan and Alice reuniting, or just confirmation that he’s on his way back to her, or maybe she’ll meet him along the way. Either way, I’m a writer myself. I’ll make those scene in my head for now lol
Oh dope so Alan became a threshold by completing his narrative arc. Very good ending, great game, didnt even know about this until now though. I will not replay this game lol
So I am left with 3 questions: - Can Alan get Alice back? - Who the F is Mr. Door? - What's going to happen to Tor and Odin who dove after Saga when she went to the Dark Place?
Mr. Door in short is basically a character from game, Quantum Break (Martin Hatch). He can just move through realities like some other dimensional being and is the father of Saga Rest i've no clue!!
Tor and Odin were in the fountain plaza where Saga enters to find Wake and when you talk to them theyll say something like "we have no more bussines up there, Tom didn't wanted us to tell you, but you'll see us again soon" 🥹
I hated the cliffhanger original ending but this the complete ending is so good! Casey, Saga, and especially Alan have suffered and sacrificed so much throughout the events of the game. They all deserved to come out of it safe and with hope for the future. So yeah, even the "happy" ending is true to the rules of the story i.e. a hero sacrificing something. Dying isn't the only sacrifice you can make
Nah mr door is actually Martin hatch but they didn’t include his actual name because they don’t have the quantum break’s IP and it’s an Xbox one exclusive too same thing with jack joyce and tim breaker they are the same person ( and actor too apparently ) it’s just the universe is different between them
Ok the light bullet part makes perfect sense now to me just beat the game just like 5 mins ago and was really pissed about the base ending glad i looked this up
The only thing I don't undersand is what happened to Alice. Was she a literal missing part of Alan the whole time? Is she still alive in the dark place somewhere? Can Alan zap betweem the Dark Place and reality whenever he likes now?
Alan is not a god, he can foresee future events but not like this. About Alice, if she talked to Saga in the Dark Place, then she jumped inside Cauldron Lake again.
It seems like this series isn't coming to an end... yet. There are still many other Alan Wakes that is still going through that spiral. One finally escapes, the other has to repeat the loop. I understand now, Alice intentionally mislead Alan to thinking that she was dead, when all this time she decided to be trapped in the Dark Place so that she can assist the other Alans in escaping the Dark Place. Alan Wake has split into two when being shot by the Bullet of Light, present Alan is free, while past Alan has to go back to the beginning. The first playthrough ending shows that Alan is revived from the gunshot, with neither Saga nor Casey present in the writer's room, suggesting that he's back in the beginning of the game and has to rewrite everything in the horror story, also having absolutely no memory of what had happened in the future. Besides, he has the power to change the story because he started it, and the reason why the Bullet of Light splits Alan into two was because to make sure that the Dark Presence that appeared when past counterpart Alan returned to the beginning was to make sure that it won't escape to the real world and to go through this infinite loop with no means to escape, while Alan can find a way. Ahti has hinted this: "A man's a man, but with a tool makes two, Tom." This "tool", supposedly the Bullet of Light, makes (a man) Alan into two. What I've learnt is that this was Alice's doing too, she also seems to have created the Bullet of Light to split Alan into two where she can trap the Dark Presence in the Dark Place, in this loop, infinitely without trying to break out, giving Alan the time he needed to write himself in the story to try and get out.
We still don’t know a lot about doors, plus we leaver breaker alone in the dark place which easily could be it’s own dlc. Alice is still in the dark place too

Not all. Alice is still in the dark place. So Alan will most likely go back there to save her.
@@Dak1624 Don't forget that the Anderson brothers are also there.
Yea, I agree ,but its still a great ending. Alice helping him ascend out of the spiral. He says he is the master of many worlds so im assuming that will help him get Alice out of the dark place.
Anderson brothers will be fine.@@cezzardke732
@@HeLios77716 they still need to address Zane, the Alan that called himself, the Alan that left notes for Rose, etc
Alan goes into the Dark Place to save Alice. Alice does the same back in return for Alan. So now we're back to square one.
At least now Alan have a will to write AND ideas of how to proceed:
1) Write meeting with mr. Door and find a way to get Alice and Himself out.
2) Write Jesse visiting lake in Control 2 to get Alice,Alan and lake power out to real world
3) Ahti always around, Darling also, Asgard bros.
@@Kairax I don't know if we'll ever get Alan Wake 3 but now that AW and Control are directly connected I am very much looking forward to Control 2.

Main difference here is Alan returned as a F God so he could being Alice back with a blink of an eye.

What an intense but amazing game!
my friend said his dead ngl how u feel is how i felt i am so glad he isn't [or is he?] guess nobody knows but ye the game was amazin
" Scratch might be gone but that was just The Dark Presence creating something to mess with Alan" Scratch was made by Zane
Bravo...
Congratulations man
Differently hits different when you tie it to mental illness/addictions allegory.
@@JJose13 Depression and Addiction are kin, so it's very much the same battlefield.. Stay strong and light up the darkness..

Wait, the phrase Master of Many Worlds was on Tim's board! I thought this was supposed to be the title for Mr. Door?
I have a feeling Mr.Door will be the next big bad, either in one of the DLCs or the next game.
@@popump2617 Or maybe in Control 2 💀
You know what is neat here... the fact that you get NEW stuff from NEW game + Another loop, or better yet after another trip down the spiral. A bit of meta thrown in. Love the detail :D

@@luenguzman3212 Microsoft: Did I hear something?
Tim Breaker’s story is probably gonna be explored further in the Night Springs DLC, so you’ve got that to look forward to
The detail in these games is absolutely insane.
Lol
not gonna lie, that ending with the phone ringing was a 10/10, but still glad "almost" everything is over now, i cannot wait for the sequel, this was easily one of my fav games of the past year
Finally my boy Alan gets some closure
"The master of many worlds". I have a feeling he meant all Remedy's games's worlds by that cuz we know they're connected. But...what about Alice? Did she stuck in the Dark Place...AGAIN? Or did she die? I hope they give answers in the DLCs.
She went back to the Dark Place, yes.
Alice and the Anderson brothers are now stuck in the Dark Place fighting the good fight.
She jumped back into the Dark Place to try and help save Alan.
Bro if Alan died there is he woke up in dark place ? I mean Alan was in real world and saga shoot him right and if Alan really died ,can he woke up in dark place ?@@ozfroggirl9221

Master of many worlds! So we are getting Max Payne, Quantum Break, and Control all together under the Remedy Banner, nice!
This gives me thoughts about how the Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake will be done.
I’m guessing Sam Lake is not just remaking Max Payne, but bringing Max to the Remedy Universe. Alan is rewriting Mona Sax in 2, in that she doesn’t die.

There was something that just felt so, fulfilling about the ending. Waiting the weeks to get ng+. Seeing all the new clues and messages. Watching Alan realise sooner than he did the first time around. To finally getting a good ending to alans story. I cannot wait to see what control 2 has in store
This is just such an emotional and sincere ending. I can't stop thinking about it. Sam Lake and Remedy as a whole have something truly special.
god this is amazing.. one thing worries me though, does this mean alice is now the one stuck in the dark place? also i feel like this quite ends well alan wake 2, not sure how else this could continue in alan wake 3 like we all thought from the first ending (maybe saving alice or something like that? trying to get rid of the dark place completely?), but also there's many questions still, with tom zane for example
Keep in mind we're getting two DLC's.

Sam Lake and Remedy team, my friends you bow to no one. ❤
Thanks for this. Not going to go through the spiraling loop because it was tiring.
I love the idea of them being a power couple, cause they got it in them😂
Alan Wake the master of many worlds.
Just finished my 8th playthough, final draft. I am the master of many worlds.
Need more context on this Mr Door guy. Is he Saga's father?
That seems to be the implication.
Every hint points to that conclusion
I would say it's 95% likely that he is lol
@@ozfroggirl9221 It's so heavily implied, it's basically told to us outright.
Not gonna lie i shed some tear, alan is free after so long.
Man this game is so damn good, i love it
Thanks for this. Definitely wasn't planning on playing through the whole fucking game again lol.
I wish I could find the song that plays at the end on Spotify. I love the little synth in it and how beautiful it sounds.

I bet the 2 DLC's will be Alan saving Alice, and Saga saving the Anderson Brothers...
I think one will be about the lost FBC station kiran mentioned.
And dont forget Dr. Darling is in the dark place too and meet Tom Zane.
The DLC's are about Night Springs and the FBC Lake House.
sadly no. they're standalone DLCs
Im glad they made the final draft ending worth the reply. I was worried theyd be stingy with it but its a great great ending to the game.
Thank god for youtube. I dont have to playthrough again to see the good ending
So I am left with 3 questions:
- Can Alan get Alice back?
- Who the F is Mr. Door?
- What's going to happen to Tor and Odin who dove after Saga when she went to the Dark Place?
Mr. Door in short is basically a character from game, Quantum Break (Martin Hatch). He can just move through realities like some other dimensional being and is the father of Saga
Rest i've no clue!!
@@关系-g7v I guess we will see in the DLC or in Alan Wake 3!
Tor and Odin were in the fountain plaza where Saga enters to find Wake and when you talk to them theyll say something like "we have no more bussines up there, Tom didn't wanted us to tell you, but you'll see us again soon" 🥹
I think he is Heimdall, or something like that. Some people said he might be Loki.
Dying isn't the only sacrifice you can make
Alan mentioned he is a "master of many worlds" maybe he has a big role in control 2.
Dr Darling is in the Dark place too, you can see in 2 TV in the Final Draft Update. So that is an option.
The soundtrack bro
now , the master of many worlds
Pretty sure that mr. Door is Saga's dad
Nah mr door is actually Martin hatch but they didn’t include his actual name because they don’t have the quantum break’s IP and it’s an Xbox one exclusive too same thing with jack joyce and tim breaker they are the same person ( and actor too apparently ) it’s just the universe is different between them

I don't understand anything anymore... I'm going crazy. This is kind of crazy. Help :(
There was no way in hell I was playing this game for a 2nd time so here I am 🙃
The only thing I don't undersand is what happened to Alice. Was she a literal missing part of Alan the whole time? Is she still alive in the dark place somewhere? Can Alan zap betweem the Dark Place and reality whenever he likes now?
Alan is not a god, he can foresee future events but not like this. About Alice, if she talked to Saga in the Dark Place, then she jumped inside Cauldron Lake again.
This means he now has control over his powers,in terms of powers between him and jesse,he is more powerful.
I am happy they bring Sam Lake in it
So. Are door and wake gonna have a battle in a future game?
What's the soundtrack that plays in the end? It's so awesome.
I seriously loved this game and the second ending was perfect got the season pass cant wait fot night springs dlc
Alan: "Master of many worlds"
Hatch: "Yeah? I worned you..."
We still don’t know a lot about doors, plus we leaver breaker alone in the dark place which easily could be it’s own dlc. Alice is still in the dark place too
kinda seems like this ending is a conclusion for AW title, what major plot point could they go with after this? besides having him tie into control
it's not a loop, but a spiral
Looking forward to The Lake House DLC. Perhaps that's where Alice gets saved.
