    I've done it both ways before - I was actually a subagent for an agency during my summer breaks back in college, so I'm pretty familiar with what I'm looking for. One thing I always want to see before committing to a policy either way is a copy of the declarations page. There are certain coverages (liability, UI, etc.) where I absolutely do not want to fall below a certain level. I have seen offers that looked great initially, but then when you dig into the dec page you're not getting the coverage you want. I think you've mentioned that on a few other videos.

      Yes, you're smart to review the quote before purchasing. It never hurts to make sure you have the coverage you are thinking you have.

    Do all ins. co. charge more for one vehicle then they do for two?

    I've been watching so many of your videos and they are so helpful-- thanks! I am looking for advice on how to insure my 2015 Kia. I live in Seattle, 27 y/o, a teacher, and have never been in an accident that was my fault. I used to have State Farm insurance, but I was so frustrated after they didn't fight for me after an uber driver damaged my car. My car was also stolen and recovered, and insurance did not cover any of that either. So I want to switch. I'm happy to call agents, but I'm not sure where to start-- do you have a company you can suggest? Any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!

      Thanks for watching. I’m glad they’ve been helpful 😊. Pemco and Grange and two companies I would look into. Oregon Mutual as a backup

    Can you expand a bit on the Multi-Vehicle discount for people in the same household? I am currently listed as a driver on my partners policy, but he owns both cars. We are looking to transfer the title and registration of one of the cars to me solely. Would I be able to stay on his policy and be covered, or will I need to get my own? We live in the same house. Also- any particular insurance companies you recommend for this? I know you mentioned a kid being on their parents policy, so I assume what im asking is possible, but what to confirm. Given my research, I get mixed answers. Some say certain insurance companies allow it, others say the car MUST be registered to the same person who holds the policy.

      It’s conflicting because it’s a grey area. If you live in the same household and your parent is your legal guardian, aka, you’re under 25yrs old, then most companies will allow you to be under your parents policy.
      Technically if you have a car registered to you, you need to be a primary ok the policy because you’re parents wouldn’t have any insurable interest in the vehicle. You could always co-register it to both of you if you wanted.
      The multi-vehicle discount is whenever you have 2 or more vehicles on the same policy.

    Hello I recently added my car to my sisters policy but the agent said he couldn’t add me as a driver but says I will be covered. And the insurance card does not consist my name. And I want to refinance my car will bank approve my refinance and also will it affect my premium in future.thank you ❤ your videos are awesome

      She needs to be registered or co-registered on the car to insure it.
      I’m not sure what the other agent is trying to do but it doesn’t add up that they can’t add you as a driver. If your sister doesn’t have insurable interest, then she can’t insure it.
      Also, If the car is registered to you only, it’s highly likely the bank will require you to get a separate policy.

      It’s been two months and I can see my car and her name in the insurance card. Does that mean I will have a insurance lapse if I get a separate policy and my premium will increase again.?

    • @ThinkInsurance
      @ThinkInsurance  3 місяці тому +1

      @rohitniraula2797 If you’re not a listed driver in the policy then yes, you have a lapse.
      If you get into an accident with your car, even though it shows it’s insured under your sister, if the registration is in your name only and you’re not a listed driver, there is a likely chance they’ll deny any claim you try to file.

      @@ThinkInsurance thank you so much also will I get suspended for having a lapse in a car Insurance ? This is the last question thank you

      @rohitniraula2797 Each state is different.
      You’ll have to research your state if you are caught without insurance. Most states will suspend your license if you are caught driving without insurance.

    Get a trustworthy, local independent agent. That'll solve a lot of questions and problems.
