Since I didn’t include it in the highlight, my thoughts on RUIN are… It’s such a long ‘game’ (barely feels like a DLC) with so much enjoyable story content that I am shocked it was free! I hope steel wool see a good return on their hard work somehow. That said, I do miss the open sandbox of security breach, the linear design doesn’t hit the same. Ideally I’d love a game structured like Security Breach with the presentation and vibe of RUIN. But who knows if that’s even possible! Overall RUIN seems like a great example of what they can do, and for the price tag of “free” it’s an easy recommendation. Also it’s not THAT buggy, it can break if you’re a stinker like me but otherwise it’s held together fairly well and feels way more polished in general. The mask is busted, but I’m glad it is.
There’s a certain irony that Ruin is less ruined, has less glitches even though half the plot centres around a glitching AR, and has more security breaching than Security Breach
Yeah Ruin is really well put together. However I did encounter one glitch on my second playthrough unintentionally where I clipped through the daycare just by putting on the mask and then taking it off. I fell through the floor.
Watching Markiplier sturggle for a week before failing to find the Glamrock Bonnie easter egg, while looking for it and replaying the game over and over, and reulting to noclip, while baskseat finds it 6 hours after the game's release using a glitch is absolutely hilarious to me

Since deactivating every single the caution bot is what gets you to Glamrock Bonnie and the fact that he had the same color glowing eyes as the bots, the current theory is that Bonnie was using the caution bots as a last minute distress signal to whatever staff might be available to find his corpse, and deactivating the last 4 bots in the room shut down the signal and his eyes stopped glowing.
Wasn't there a memo in security breach about finding him in Bonnie Bowl though? So I think the staff knew he was decommissioned. So did somebody move his body? Vanessa?
@@coops9597 I can't really remember, but what I do remember is that in the base game, we theorized that Monty killed Bonnie because there is a memo that suggests that Bonnie was lured into Monty Golf and Monty destroyed him. This was finally confirmed when we see his smashed up body as we can see huge claw marks on his chest, exactly resembling Monty's, a spot on the wall that looks like something smashed Bonnie's head into it, and then BROKE a bowling ball on him. The staff tried to cover it up as seen on the Monty ride in RUIN, they have a whole story of how Monty got in the band by saying that Bonnie GAVE Monty his guitar and that's why we don't see Bonnie anymore. So perhaps the signal was for someone who had no clue about this in order to reveal the Pizza Plex's true colors to them. Their animatronics are violent and corrupt and they know it. I have no idea how his body got back into Bonnie Bowl if he was attacked in Monty Golf, but perhaps that will be revealed in a future game or DLC. (If there are going to be more for SB.)
@@popgoes6788 Well they did managed to at least specify through the game environment which ending is canon and the DLC takes place in (the DLC takes place after princess quest ending as it is the only ending that hasn't been shown on the comic page in DLC) but i doubt the rest of the questions will be answered.
what sucks is you need to deactivate all of them to enter, but four of those bots you need to deactivate are in the very area you unlock by deactivating them all. i think Backseat found the unintentional true way to unlock Bonnie's room.
@@AuthenticKale Actually, if you deactivate all of the bots found anywhere OUTSIDE of the room, one more will spawn right outside of the room to deactivate and in doing so, will lift that blind right next to it so you can crawl through, find Bonnie, and deactivate the remaining 4. At 17:05 I think Backseat had the game confused by glitching and deactivating those 4 bots. Perhaps the game recognized that something had happened in a currently unreachable area unless all the caution bots have been deactivated, figured he must have already done that, and then the game may have ACUTALLY deactivated all the other bots around the game in order to spawn the last bot where it should have been so he could deactivate it and find Bonnie.
Gotta love how Steel Wool basically gave us a DLC where main mechanic dunks on us for making jokes about how Vanessa must have phased through a Monty Gate in the beginning of Security Breach
I honestly very much like how the mask can break the game only through a players willingness to break the game, whereas security breach and freddy as a whole could completely and uttely break on any old tuesday
I mean, that's kind of the optimal way to code a game. It should never be broken to a casual player, but for a player who wants and knows how to break it, it should let them do a lot.
Matpat just trying to find lore but accidentally skips a whole section of the game.... (by putting the mask on in a VERY normal spot btw). I'm sure Mat isn't the only one either, but I get that you're trying to compliment the game for not being as difficult to play as security breach and running into less problems in your average playthrough.
To access Bonnie normally, you need to deactivate all 27 of the wet floor bots, some of which are hidden. You’ll know you’ve done this successfully if you see a final wet floor bot standing next to the far right bowling lane whilst wearing the mask. You need to deactivate that bot, and the little panel on the lane will glitch so you can walk through it.
The moment Spiff dropped a video explaining how the mask works I knew Backseat will be somewhere he isnt supposed to be less than 5 minutes after getting the mask
Y'know how "The Blob" was on the bingo sheet? The Blob is actually in the game. It appears around the very start in a crack in the wall whilst going downstairs. It's only for a second though.
When you got Monty stuck in the part where you electrified him, when you said "Such a tense moment" that reminded me of when I first beat Burntrap. The blob just didn't spawn, and I joked, saying "such a hard fight"
Dude when I was watching let’s players I was like “wow this game has like next to no bugs at all” steel wool really stepped up. And then backseat completely destroyed that feeling.
For a casual experience the game has almost no bugs at all, you really need to seek them this time and i don't think you can blame Steel Wool for this.
All they need to do to stop the mask from breaking things so easily is set triggers inside blockades that prevents it being equipped or unequipped when inside one. It doesn't make it flawless, but it makes things MUCH harder to break.
I like to call the whole mask teleporting "quantum masking" where since there is 2 maps one for ar and real world I like to believe what is happening is while you are in a place that it can't directly teleport you to on the other map it just picks a general location to try and prevent you from getting stuck in objects which causes you to teleport to the other side of objects or slightly different locations or rotations you were in before
@@higueraft571 Ive seen it at points move the player to the side or even completely rotate the character around so while yes it does teleport you upward I think it also has checks that attempts to keep you from getting stuck
The blob was actually in the game, after the kitchen full of trash in the start of the game. When you went down some stairs, the blob was staring at you in a hole in the wall
While ruin is no masterpiece by any means, it’s nice to see that they can take criticism and understand most of it well enough to grow from it. Like some parts still feel a bit off even as only a viewer but I hope they take the time they need to make proper games now that they better understand what their priorities have to be. The story has lost any point of being logical and I don’t care for book lore being required given the booms are meant to be just fun goosebumps stuff, but I do like the decision to make the mimic and glitchtrap separate entities. Hopefully it doesn’t fall into stupidity again
Honestly this DLC wouldn't be nearly as scary if it werent for security breach being so insanely broken, so the fact you found ways to break it is impressive
So the way you're SUPPOSED to get to Bonnie is you have to deactivate EVERY bot from Chapter one, and one is supposed to appear next ti that area in Bonnie Bowl, bit it's bugged if you go through the Chapter Select, so when you went back there was literally no way to get to Bonnie from there.
It's pretty easy to miss and is only there to tell the observant "hey tangle is still alive" Quick edit: If you don't know, the Blob in the game files is named Tangle. I think it's a good name for the character, with relations to Mangle and how stupidly complicated the lore has become over the series' development.
I haven’t seen anyone else see the Bonnie out of bounds glitch, not even one video yet about how to get it, so thats really cool that your the first one :)

What the hell, 2 minutes in and he's already glitched the game, and what's worse is you're not even supposed to be able to take off the mask when in collision! The fact that he was even able to TRY was the broken part!
It was mimic speaking in the elevator but halfway through. In the middle of Gregory speaking, there's a static sound which is when the mimic cuts him off and speaks in his voice, so Greg didn't actually betray cassie
@@sandspada Gregory does bring up his "friend" who has the schematics of the area, of which is Vanessa, but I don't see how she would be able to disable the elevator, let alone Gregory, so yeah, I'd say there's a high chance that it was just mimic that disabled the elevator
I actually uncovered a glitch while redoing the daycare for the second time, looking for any bots and/or collectables. I just got "banned" from daycare, i sprinted over to the place where the sundrop plush is, the door opened, and i fell right through the map and onto the celing of the ar world, which is always loaded below the real world. Also while at the gater catwalks, while using the vanny mask to travel faster, i got the ability to take it off in an area i shouldn't be allowed to, and when i did, i found myself floating above the water of the golf course.
The last wet floor bot to enter where Bonnie is is bugged and don't appear in a "normal" playthrough. By glitching here and there you somehow managed to make the bot appears.
I feel like ALOT of the ideas they had for SB originally went into RUIN. The story is far better told (and it exists to begin with), the gameplay ideas are better, the atmosphere practically nails "FNAF in 3D", etc.

2:02 this was the PERFECT moment for youtube to glitch the way it did for me. In another tab, I have a small queue of videos that I've been watching on loop for the past few days. Instead of looping the video it was on once it finished, however, it jumped ahead to a video that started with a voice line from one Casey Jones Jr of RotTMNT Movie fame. For context, most Caseys in the various versions of TMNT wear a full-face mask, and Jr is no exception. The extra post-apocalyptic touch on Jr's is nice, too, especially when I'm watching my first RUIN video lmao
If you didn’t know, the wet floor bots were the only thing keeping Bonnie alive, you can see that his eyes are still lit up, but if you deactivate the wet floor bots surrounding him, then his eyes would turn off.
I caught the VOD and it was very fun. I am so curious if getting into Bonnie's room legitimately unlocks any sort of dialogue with him since his eyes were lit up.
The DLC no doubt gave Security Breach the chance it deserves, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here. Especially with Help Wanted 2 coming out at some point.

Just from the introduction, I feel like you have found the MOST amount of glitches as most people only get the between maps glitch where they end up in the middle of the maps and fall to the to the bottom one by putting on the V.A.N.N.I. mask and immediately put it off.
I love that the audio near the end is suspected to be half the mimic. there's an audio glitch when on the elevator right before "gregory" says he can't let you leave.
Also the greg that drops you down the elevator is definitely the real one. The game has different triggers for when mimic and greg are talking and mimic isn't talking there. So...yeah. Greg was like "sorry, buddy. not your fault but I can't let you leave" Now try for the scooper ending.
best part is the way intended to find bonnie(deactivating all cleaning bots) is bugged (game spawns last bot that opens the way after you killed all bots including the ones inside) so you cant find him with the "intended" way but who needs that when you have bugs
man with backseat's proclivity for breaking games, id LOVE to see him try to break hollow knight, that game is polished to a SHINE and its incredibly rare to run into glitches, which is deeply impressive for a three-man team in such a huge game
To get into Bonnie’s area legitimately, all you have to do if to find ALL the wet floor bots and deactivate them. You know you got them all when you go back to bonnie bowl and see a wet floor bot under the vent near where Bonnie is, then deactivate it, and then the thing lifts up and you can enter his room. But clipping through works too.
@@Owen01 not everything will get spotted by beta testing, it's pretty hard to test every combination of actions and which exact coordinate your at when putting on the mask, people don't expect you to take your mask off inside solid matter, 1 single ACTUALLY accidental glitch out of the 5 playthroughs I've seen that weren't trying to break the game is really good, you go to any other youtubers comment section you'll see people talking about how it doesn't glitch anymore, besides moving someone from one map to another in an instant isn't exactly easy.
the comic strips are events gregory came up with and drew during the events of security breach, the only canon ending is the one where freddy looses his head and vanny become vanessa.

So the way you're SUPPOSED to get to Bonnie is you have to deactivate EVERY bot from Chapter one, and one is supposed to appear next ti that area in Bonnie Bowl, bit it's bugged if you go through the Chapter Select, so when you went back there was literally no way to get to Bonnie from there.
You forgot about the blob. He appears at the end of the stairwell. He slips his way back into the walls.

Quick edit: If you don't know, the Blob in the game files is named Tangle. I think it's a good name for the character, with relations to Mangle and how stupidly complicated the lore has become over the series' development.

What the hell, 2 minutes in and he's already glitched the game, and what's worse is you're not even supposed to be able to take off the mask when in collision! The fact that he was even able to TRY was the broken part!
It was mimic speaking in the elevator but halfway through. In the middle of Gregory speaking, there's a static sound which is when the mimic cuts him off and speaks in his voice, so Greg didn't actually betray cassie
Plus, there's the question of how Gregory could have even dropped the elevator if he wasn't at the Pizzaplex
@@sandspada Gregory does bring up his "friend" who has the schematics of the area, of which is Vanessa, but I don't see how she would be able to disable the elevator, let alone Gregory, so yeah, I'd say there's a high chance that it was just mimic that disabled the elevator

I actually uncovered a glitch while redoing the daycare for the second time, looking for any bots and/or collectables. I just got "banned" from daycare, i sprinted over to the place where the sundrop plush is, the door opened, and i fell right through the map and onto the celing of the ar world, which is always loaded below the real world. Also while at the gater catwalks, while using the vanny mask to travel faster, i got the ability to take it off in an area i shouldn't be allowed to, and when i did, i found myself floating above the water of the golf course.
Bingo Card says both "Bonnie is in the game" and "Bonnie is not in the game"

The last wet floor bot to enter where Bonnie is is bugged and don't appear in a "normal" playthrough. By glitching here and there you somehow managed to make the bot appears.

I feel like ALOT of the ideas they had for SB originally went into RUIN. The story is far better told (and it exists to begin with), the gameplay ideas are better, the atmosphere practically nails "FNAF in 3D", etc.

Instead of looping the video it was on once it finished, however, it jumped ahead to a video that started with a voice line from one Casey Jones Jr of RotTMNT Movie fame. For context, most Caseys in the various versions of TMNT wear a full-face mask, and Jr is no exception. The extra post-apocalyptic touch on Jr's is nice, too, especially when I'm watching my first RUIN video lmao

If you didn’t know, the wet floor bots were the only thing keeping Bonnie alive, you can see that his eyes are still lit up, but if you deactivate the wet floor bots surrounding him, then his eyes would turn off.
I caught the VOD and it was very fun. I am so curious if getting into Bonnie's room legitimately unlocks any sort of dialogue with him since his eyes were lit up.

Just from the introduction, I feel like you have found the MOST amount of glitches as most people only get the between maps glitch where they end up in the middle of the maps and fall to the to the bottom one by putting on the V.A.N.N.I. mask and immediately put it off.

To get into Bonnie’s area legitimately, all you have to do if to find ALL the wet floor bots and deactivate them. You know you got them all when you go back to bonnie bowl and see a wet floor bot under the vent near where Bonnie is, then deactivate it, and then the thing lifts up and you can enter his room. But clipping through works too.
The only way too legitimately find bonnie is to turn off the wet floor signs
And I thought this would have been like a perfect glitchless patch of the base game, apparently Backseat as always proved me wrong 💀

@@Owen01 not everything will get spotted by beta testing, it's pretty hard to test every combination of actions and which exact coordinate your at when putting on the mask, people don't expect you to take your mask off inside solid matter, 1 single ACTUALLY accidental glitch out of the 5 playthroughs I've seen that weren't trying to break the game is really good, you go to any other youtubers comment section you'll see people talking about how it doesn't glitch anymore, besides moving someone from one map to another in an instant isn't exactly easy.
