@@dannydeyeeto2822 For me, it's the fact that students are forced to do it. Maybe it's just because we were fustrating teenagers, but I enjoyed drawing all the little connections and thinking about the characters in my own time, but hated doing so in class

No worries at all! It's a hard film to find. I just wanted to help people for 2021 Leaving Cert (like me), or for people who have been struggling to find it, just to watch it on their own terms, its better than the other version on youtube. I hope it helps :)
Hello again everyone. I just released a couple of timestamps to try and help ye all out on where to find key-moments in this film if you are doing this play for you're LC. I was a bit sick when carrying out doing this so some of the time-stamps may be a bit all over the place / some important parts not accounted for, but I hope it makes it easier to get to certain points in this film regardless. Cheers.
I appreciate you uploading this, you're a lifesaver, as I was out sick when we were watching it and then for you to go as far as to give time stamps makes this an incredible resource. Hope you're feeling better now, have a great day
@@name7934 Honestly no worries. I just want to help people. I did my LC not even 2 years ago and I struggled to see the imagery through the words on a page from a book, then my English teacher uploaded the entire movie (Honestly I have no idea where it came from) onto Microsoft Teams. So since I was stuggling, it was fair to say that others may be also, so I downloaded the file and uploaded it here before or after my Christmas Exams in 2020. I'm happy that it's a somewhat reliable resource
Youre an absolute lifesaver!! Have my english paper 2 mock tomoro and cant remember PHIC for the life of me Will be doin this again for the real thing haha Edit: im watching this 5hrs before my actual english paper 2 exam im praying it goes smoothly lmao
Philadelphia, Here I Come! (1970). This film adaptation of Brian Friel's 1964 play was directed by John Quested. Quested also produced the film. It was not released during the 1974-75 season, and was not specifically produced for the American Film Theatre. It had been produced in Ireland in 1971, but only premiered at the 1974 Cork Film Festival.[1][9] It was included in the DVD releases of 2003 and 2008.[5]
Did this for my Leaving Cert Back in 99. I didnt realise how good it was and while this version was good its not the same as a Live version. I seen it in the Druid theatre in Galway with brilliant actors.
At least in this one we actually see him go to philadelphia, instead of ending the story on a cliffhanger when the entire story has been building up to him leaving. Yes I know its meant to be because of all the doubt and second thoughts he's having about going, but I just found it annoying that when reading the book for my leaving cert, the whole story was building up to this moment only to never show it.
My teacher interpreted his final look back as he’s getting on to the plane as him reconsidering, once again leaving it ambiguous as to whether he went through with it
It’s not actually about Philadelphia at all though. It’s about what he’s leaving behind. We don’t need to see Philadelphia, Philadelphia doesn’t need to exist. It’s like the promised land.
@@froggy9822I'm not saying we should see philadelphia, but I do think they should at least have him walking out the door in the original book, to provide a sense that he has a least left for the trip, and can decide whether he wants to go back then
Unfortunately, a couple of months ago someone asked the same question, you might find it if you look through the comments. There is no record of this song anywhere besides the intro in this movie. I have looked everywhere as I also somewhat took a liking to it, nothing was found. Sorry.
Yeah I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you'll be ok during the exam. I would love to help, but unfortunately, when I did my LC in 2021, I had to study Winter's Bone, The Handmaid's Tale, and 1984, alongside Philadelphia Here I come, so I have no knowledge of those 2 texts. I hope everything goes well. Good luck!
I'm unfortunately on the same boat. I have tried almost every commonly used resource. Soundcloud, Spotify, Shazam, UA-cam, IMDB, Google search, Reddit (things got weird there). There is no result. I'm sorry. I'll keep looking, and I'll reply if I ever do find something.
