This is so awesome man. I'm in Canada as well and like most people I dont have alot of extra room for a permanent setup. This will be perfect for my garage! Thanks!
update after 2 hours: I had some material laying around and just built it :D I would have never believed it could be so simple! I used regular (aluminum) curtain hooks nothing fancy but i used a lot of them (12), and as net I used a 'fruit' net (the one you use to protect fruit trees), the rest of the material is quite similar to that in the video. 15 min of planning, 20 min of measuring and cutting, 1 hour setting it all up. THANKS!
Have you hit any worm burners? How did the netting react? Thinking of doing something like this and worried that a low mis-hit is going to go underneath the netting and hit whatever is behind.
12 feet at least, less the length of the turnbuckle, so that tension can be created on the wire. So, like 11 ft, assuming at least a 12 inch turnbuckle, and also less any other hangers you have in place on either end
Great video. How is the net next to the walls working out? My concern is shanking one and with the net so close to the wall the ball will likely still reach the wall and ricochet around and damage the wall board. Other than that you have sweet setup!
This is awesome! Can you explain the purpose of the nylon mesh? Couldn't this golf net work by itself? And also, when you said you have clamps to hold cable, what are those?
Thanks for posting, I am going to build a similar setup in my garage. Question for you. Did you do anything to protect the ceiling in case you sky one or want to hit wedges? Or has this really been a non-issue?
Hey Ryan, great video. I take it you got the aircraft cable/turnbuckle, eye hook from HomeDepot or Lowe’s in Canada? Would you be able to post the links to the hardware you bought? I am in Canada and looking to build a sim as well in my garage.
Thanks for watching - I got all the hardware from my local Home Hardware. The cable was bought by the foot and everything else was in the same part of the hardware section.
@@ryanbarath1916 solid. Before your reply I went out yesterday and got a sheet of it. Double layered and hung on my net. Works awsome man, nicer and lighter than my fleece blanket I had before. Thanks for the tips it's perfect
1. Is your mat pretty sturdy on the ground? Unlike yours, I’m thinking of getting one that I wouldn’t be standing on. Any advice on how to stabilize it? 2. What’s your advice on noise reduction?
Kidding man! I think i will try this idea, I might not also since its a two car garage and probably will require more tension. Did you use toggle bolts to secure to the stud?

I have the perfect space for this we have a bi level, and we never finished the storage area. Setting up the layout now. Thank you Ryan..
AWESOME! Now i know how to build mine!

Wished you would have hit some shots to see how the net works.
Can you tell me what the name of the net is - I don’t see it at the bottom of the video
Where did you get the mesh fabric? I’m having a hard time finding anything affordable.

Do you think this might work for hockey pucks?
Im not super handy but I may try this. How long of a cable would I need for a 12 foot wide garage?

Thanks for the video. Did you use 1/8" cable or 1/16" cable?
I’m think about this for the garden, but would want a roof on it. Any ideas?
Please let us know where you bought the net and cost. Another post requested same answer. Thanks for the video
The net can be found in the full video description.

Man you collect snow shovels like I collect overstable distance drivers I cant throw properly yet.
never hit the ceiling?

How much was the flightscope xi?
How's that white mesh holding up. Thinking about getting same material
Still holding up great after a year. Its showing a small amount of wear but nothing that would cause me to replace it.

@@timm5514 Is there a name or other specific identifier for the nylon mesh? Seems like great idea.
@@andrewbanas3036 I am wondering the same thing!! I can’t find anything under nylon mesh

Mat is plenty sturdy and as for noise the net really helps reduce echo.
I'm not sure what to do with my hands...

You should have shown things s little closer, a picture is worth a thousand words.
