The Talking Heads were a favorite of the artsy crowd in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. It's so cool that about 40 years later, people are still trying to figure out their creative genius... their stuff really is timeless.

A lot like Jon Anderson of Yes. He wrote lyrics that would sound good with the music but not necessarily to make sense. Although if you were to ask Jon, he would tell you that his lyrics do tell a story but one that only he could decipher.
1:55 - Yes that was the dad from _Roseanne,_ aka John Goodman. This video is taken from a weird funny movie David Byrne made that starred Goodman, called _True Stories._
Several of the people in the video are supposed to be imitations of other famous musicians. I'll leave you to work out who is supposed to be who.
Well there was one real famous musician in it, who followed John Goodman and that was Meatloaf.

That first line to me always sounded like, "I'm wearin' filthy drawers!" This whole True Stories album is worth a listen; several great songs on it!

It's a niche song. It's a parody of musicians and artists that were well-known at that time in pop culture. You probably don't recognize any of them.
