I still get chills seeing Luffy hang from Crocs hook like a dead fish.. Never forget: Luffy keeps his promises and he can withstand way more than other people - oftentimes through the help of others. His ability to convince people to help him is kind of a second super power - the power of the masses.

Oda replied: 'Just crashing their dreams by defeating them and ruining their plans is enough for Luffy, It's a reasonable answer, especially in the Asian mentality, where its proven throughout the ages they better die than get humiliated.
Something funny about Mr. 3 at 8:29, in the manga, he was just floating on top of the water, and someone in an SBS pointed out that devil fruit eaters cant float/swim, so Oda said he was floating on wood debris that just happened to be shaped like Mr. 3 💀💀

Then I grew up and my tastes did a 180 as an adult when I started watching anime. Still, I've watched up to half-way through Wano before I stopped and I still peg crocodile as the best Villain.
What do you mean get humbled? Luffy is literally the most humble guy there is. Luffy would rather die then let people he cares about get killed. He just loves being free and adventuring. He wouldn't even fight at all if he wasn't forced to.

Super spoiler for Sanji being a duck. It's possibly a reference to him being the ugly duckling, being shunned by his own family before evolving to become a swan. Either that or it's a reference to Zeff. Zeff's original ship has a duck figurehead.
Yeah, Crocodile's "who do think I am" is really impactful. Luffy and the audience have gotten used to far less serious and deadly villains, from butlers to a literal clowns. Crocodile is letting everyone know that he has no time or nerve for a silly rubber boy. 😏

But then he trained first in the afterlife before he finally came back to life because of a request from his crew to the dragon god after his crew collected 7 mystical balls. After that, Luffy, who became stronger after training in the afterlife, defeated Crocodile.
I hate the slow pace of events. One Piece is made with one chapter per episode. If One Piece was in another studio, Alabasta would have only been 15 episodes. That's if they adapted two chapters per episode.
Alabasta aint even that bad. Around 1.7 chapters per episode i think. Still slow but nowhere near the horrible pacing during WCI and wano...so if you think alabasta already sucks you better buckle up
rant warning (spoiler) What i don't understand is why didn't Oda give Crocodile armament/observation haki ability? i mean luffy beat him with just gear 1 and a drum of water right?😂
Spoiler (my theories, I can´t remember if that was answered later) - - - - - - - Well, he uses haki later, so I see 2 options: 1 - He was complacent and lazy. He was in the weakest (weaker?) part of the Grand Line, and on an island where he was completely in his element as a logia. (Literally.) 2 - We see later that there can be a massive difference in the Warlords´ powers, so maybe he was always on the weaker side, and "hit the gym", so to speak, after his defeat.

Haki is based on willpower. Croc lost all his willpower when he got defeated by Whitebeard in the New World.
