What did you do about the BCM(body control module)? I'm doing the exact same thing you are except I won't care about using the speedometer air conditioning or radio. How did you get all the sensors to work and take care of the VATS?
Bcm stuff just leave the factory fuse box and ecu plugged in and powered up I relocated mine down behind passenger headlight for stock Ls Ecu u need to it tuned to turn vats off or I highly recommend a Holley terminator x system

The s197 Ecu and the LS Ecu have nothing to do with each other now u will only need to get the vats removed on the LS Ecu the ford stuff u just leave it no since u are going stock LS Ecu I recommend getting a standalone LS swap harness it will have all the wiring deleted u don’t need and will have everything labeled for easy wiring I had that setup before my Holley with no issues
There plenty of places to cut weight it just comes down to what u want to loose or could live without I wanted a street car have my dash door panel and center console that’s all I have in the car plus having radio and working heat

They cost twice as much minimum to build sounds like a great investment. I have a fully built coyote 525 rwhp all motor and id much rather swap and ls in with a big dick cam. Last Ford ill ever buy as well. Interior is absolutely garbage and basic as fuck. If it weren't for the coyote sound I'd hate my car all the way.

I would get the tubular front end kit and make it easy and lighter wish I did when I had an accident u can run the exhaust out the back and have no issue with line or anything and you can go manual transmission or really anything u went there a good amount of room just now a lot for let’s say a 4l80/4l60 but Watson racing I believe sell the t56 swap crossover for a manual setup

Let's see, 8-10k for a stock coyote swap or $4-5k for a ls swap and with the other $4-5k you'd spend for the coyote swap you could use for upgrades, turbo, or whatever and make way more power.

There stock manifold flipped forward with v bands welded on them the hotside came off an Ls swapped foxbody

Any Ls u want depends on your budget but when it comes to manual it gets expensive t56 is the way for most Ls setups tho
So what about driveshaft and Trans mount with the 4l60?
U need to make a custom trans mount for that trans and get a custom driveshaft made as-well

U can make your own an lines and run adaptor fitting to the rack to keep power steering

Use the stock Ls ones it came with and run that coolant/vent hose to the mustang coolant tank

Custom made 3inch steel with th400 yoke from autozone and factory pinion flange with 1340 u joints
