  • This center channel speaker is ideal for a small to medium sized lounge with one couch in front of the TV or screen. You can also use two of these in a vertical position as left and right speakers in your home theater, and then one in horizontal position as the center channel. This will provide a seamless integration and flow between the speakers.

I didn't realise Arylic made speaker drivers, as well as their amplifiers and streaming stuff.

Nice project. But why don't you just order a PCB via JLC or so? In a time where a pcb that size can be had for less than 5€, this just feel a bit meh.
Sure, it will work, but having proper connectors or both sides and better connections just would be worth it for me.

    Love your work!
I have so much to learn to get there. I noticed you built another center channel speaker about 5 years ago. I am interested in building one myself using your design and specs. My system avr is anthem 1120. Would you recommend one over the other for voice clarity and smoothness?
    Cheers

Both are good, however I would probably go for the previous design due to better off-axis response.

It looked as if you connected the two 4 ohm woofers in parallel, which would make for a 2 ohm load and not an 8 ohm load?

Good morning i am based in Bloemfontein and i'm a big fan of your channel and i have been watching your videos and your greatest works so in 2022 i purchased a set of Acoustic Research arvp26 speakers which are a center and 2 bookshelf and one book shelf speaker it doesn't sound so i thought it was the drivers and i decided ro swap them only to find that the problem might be the crossover so i woild like to know how to go about upgrading the crossover since i have a less Knowledge on electronics
    Kind regards

Is it possible to make a home cimea setup one by one with different set of drivers and enclosures? Eg the driver will be different in the center then in the side channels. I do t want to splurge for a full setup so starting with a 2.0 or 2.1 diy approach seems to be reasobale to me.

Hi, great video. Really enjoyed it. I'm hoping you can give a little advice on a project i want to do......just because I have the parts lying around.
I have some spare electronic parts and I want to build a small portable speaker box out of them. I have two (2) pioneer TS-1342R (4ohm) speakers which were from a car door and one 6 inch woofer (8 ohm) from an old set of computer speakers . I plant to use a Class D mini amplifier and as fate would have it, the amp is designed to power two 4 Ohm speaker and one 8 ohm. My challenge is I don't know what should be the appropriate volume of the enclosure. I have a limited amount of scrap 3/4 inch MDF so I don't want to waste it. I'm not asking for free plans, I'm just asking in your view what should be the minimum enclosure volume?? Hope you can help.

      Answer from chatgpt
When designing an enclosure for speakers, the volume of the enclosure plays a significant role in determining sound quality. Let's break down your situation:
      ### 1. Specifications of the Speakers
Your Pioneer TS-1342R speakers have the following specs:
      - Size: 5.25 inches (13 cm)
      - Impedance: 4 ohms
Your 6-inch woofer has the following specs:
      - Size: 6 inches (15 cm)
      - Impedance: 8 ohms
      ### 2. Choosing the Enclosure Type
For your mixed speaker setup, a sealed or ported enclosure would work well. Since you have a woofer, a ported enclosure would enhance the bass response.
      ### 3. Determining the Enclosure Volume
To determine the approximate volume for the enclosure, consider the following rough guidelines:
      1. **For the Pioneer TS-1342R speakers**:
      - Typically, a volume of 0.2 to 0.4 cubic feet (5.6 to 11.3 liters) per speaker is sufficient.
      - For both speakers, a combined volume of 0.4 to 0.8 cubic feet (11.3 to 22.7 liters) would be ideal.
      2. **For the 6-inch woofer**:
      - Typically, a volume of 0.5 to 1 cubic foot (14.2 to 28.3 liters) is suitable for a 6-inch woofer.
      ### 4. Total Enclosure Volume
To accommodate all three speakers, you should aim for an enclosure volume of around 1 to 1.5 cubic feet (28.3 to 42.5 liters). This should give you enough volume to fit both the TS-1342R speakers and the 6-inch woofer comfortably.
      ### 5. Constructing the Enclosure
Given your 3/4-inch MDF, ensure the internal dimensions of the box match the desired volume. The thickness of the material will slightly reduce the internal volume, so factor that in during your calculations.
      **For example**:
      - An enclosure with internal dimensions of 12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches (1 cubic foot) would be a reasonable starting point. Adjust accordingly to meet your available material.
      ### Conclusion
Aiming for an enclosure volume between 1 and 1.5 cubic feet would be a suitable starting point for your speakers. Additionally, this volume allows some flexibility in the final tuning and design.

bro , just a curious question , why you don't use CNC for engraving and all the work , it would be amazing and very easy to do also with current technology 😃😃

    • @avocadochoe
      @avocadochoe 6 місяців тому +2

CNC is great for scaling production but for one offs, it’s actually far easier to do these steps by hand once you get comfortable enough.

@@avocadochoe i also make and sell speakers bro , and i do CNC. infact i never used router for engraving and i only use router for round over edges or trim edges.
😀 , infact i don't have my own CNC machine. i go to wood working market and get it done. even they cut single 96" x 48" sheet if you have the drawing and CNC drawing is very simple to make , it's just 2D .dxf drawing made in coral draw. i always find it way better option.

    • @avocadochoe
      @avocadochoe 6 місяців тому

@@manjulwalia1995 your method is far more viable for projects that require curves that cannot be cut on a tablesaw. for a design like this can be built in just a few hours (excluding glue curing time) without leaving the shop. and router jigs are in fact in principle the same thing as the cnc machine. if you are mounting circular drivers, a simple circle routing jig gets the job done faster without the need to get the third party contractor.

not to mention added cost for the contractor and time spent to get it done outside your workspace and getting them brought back…
