This is Bill Hader's first appearance. Who would have known that 8 years later, on Bill's last show, Seth would be fighting Anderson Cooper over a character played by Bill?
He's jealous and needed to whine about it !
Well the sketch before was his first appearance technically. (Jet Blue)
WOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH thats AMAZING. I love bill
He almost passed out when he walked off set- the set director caught him and put him in a chair.
Nigerian Prince How do you know this?
Bill Hader's first sketch and everybody was clapping for him! What a legend!
It's uncanny. I remember only Kate McKinnon nailing her first apperance that well (Pantene commercial).
aw
For real :-O
Awww
He was destined to become an SNL Legend from the very start
I remember when this first came out, everyone went crazy for bill's impersonation of al pacino. It blew my mind
667 likes hahaha
You can hear and feel the gasps of awe when he started speaking as Pacino. It is eerie how absolutely spot on it is. He didn't impersonal Al Pacino. He channeled and became Al Pacino.
Hader’s Pacino is epic!! 🌟
This is in 2005 and Keenan is still on the show in 2019. Also still looks the same as he did in 2005.
He looks the same as 1995
He definitely looks younger, in here to me. Now he has some wrinkles and grey hair
it's 2021 and Kenan is still in the show and looks the same
and it's official you are blind as fuck
Blacks don’t crack.
Bill Hader - Pacino - nailed it.
Seth nailing Anderson’s lip pout.
it’s gotten to the point where i know all of the cast members, but none of the people they’re impersonating
i am a child
same here
Dang I'm also a child...
You really don't know Tony Danza or Al Pacino??? I am so sorry :(
Man I can totally relate. I am a child too
Ik both lol
So as time passes, you age backwards toward childhood and some kind of reverse dementia, where you no longer recognize who you haven't yet seen become famous?
Also, that Ray Romano hair and manner was perfect. Steve Carell may have a future in showbiz. But you will eventually start to remember that.
Came here for Horatio Sanz., who's always hilariously self aware of being ridiculous
fun fact! after this sketch, when hader walked off, he proceeded to immediately collapse offstage due to his anxiety. he could hardly remember anything he had done on stage, and was out for a few seconds
Source?
Wait really?? Is there a video where he says that happened?
@@koala201211 He's known to have severe anxiety, and there may not be an official source if one of the SNL crew members witnessed it and mentioned it to friends.
"Fun fact" is a horrible cliche!
it ain't a fun fact
Bill Hader is a truly talented actor. Even in this very first episode, he mocks Al so accurate and funny. God, this guy is great.
It's called impersonation, not mocking. Mocking is what people in San Francisco do about the Chinese, like: "EGGROR TWO DOLLA".
Morpheus I think they were using the term as a synonym of copy
@@morpheus6749 😂
He wasn't mocking Al Pacino it's an impersonation. 😂
Horatio's Aaron Neville impression is one of the most underrated impressions in SNL history.
They wouldn’t even let him do this impression in 2021.
Agreed
Black face ok on snl.
@@jeffreybensley5790 yeah.. I was thinking the same thing
@@jeffreybensley5790 It was when they were actually funny & relevant! Now all Saturday Night Live is ...a Fooken Demon Cult Pedo Ring! 👀 The 🍊 Orange Man was right yet again!
can we talk about how seth is playing his future husband's almost-husband here
What? Can you explain?
@@reesecup3ify stefon’s last appearance w/seth before he left the show was stefon about to get married to anderson cooper, but seth runs in and confesses his love for stefon and they get married instead. so in the SNL Cinematic Universe stefon is seth’s husband lol
“I got too much cocoa butter on my hands”
lol
👏 😂
That was the best part of the whole video.
Script was brilliant as was his performance! Bravo!😂
I came for Bill, but Seth got me off guard😳 He looks really handsome in this
Never thought id see an Aaron neville impression. That was perfect
this was bill hater's first episode as cast member
not gonna lie, that was the reason why I revisited season 31
Its *Hader
Wow, he was solid from day 1
Hader's gonna hade!
Well done. Classic.
Bill Haders Al Pacino and Horatio Sanz Aaron Neville were freaking incredible.
Lord, Seth with that wig is making feel the certain ways...he has no business being that fineeee.
This is one of those sketches where every cast member is just on their game. SNL in the 2000s was definitely about ensemble comedy. All equally funny 🤣🤣🤣
first sketch to feature bill hader
Actually, it's the sketch where Steve Carell and Amy Poehler play passengers on a flight that's in the news about an emergency landing. Both that sketch and this one showed that Bill Hader was going to go far on this show with his crazy characters and startingly accurate celebrity impressions. Meanwhile, it took Andy Samberg a few episodes before he became popular (the Jack Black episode with "Lazy Sunday") and Jason Sudeikis and Kristen Wiig didn't really hit their strides until the season after this.
@@canaisyoung3601 I thought kristen joined the cast in season 32? And bill, andy and jason in season 31
@@dimitravasileiadou9771 No, Kristen joined 5 episodes later, on season 31.
@@helenabegum8395 yeah you're right, I looked it up after I commented that :)
That Al Pacino and Aaron Neville impression was awesome
That Aaron Neville impersonation has stayed with me for years. XD
That's probably because you don't know much, HA !
Hader's debut alone makes this one a classic, but every character and impersonation is a winner pretty much
"Some how I still manage to look good". Hahahahaha 😂
the way the crowd cheered after Bill appeared as Al was a the first sign of his stardom:((
Love Horatio’s Aaron Neville impersonation lolol
is it bad that I saw the shadow at 0:30 and knew that it was Bill Hader?
LOLOL!! great eye!!
You too? Oh my god
It's the schnoz
The man was not inside the frame, still maintained his character. What an amazing actor
same
Man just witnessed the birth of a legend. Way to go Bill!
I honestly remember watching the original live airing of this and seeing Bill for the first time and just getting this charge of energy and excitement at his talent like, ‘Oh shit, this guys gonna be good!’
Got the same impression the first time Norm MacDonald was on SNL. There are a few cast members who come out the gate rock stars
Me too 1,000,000%. I love that you can hear the audience just being blown away, knowing that....oh yeah....there's a new kid in town and he's got mad mad skills.
The Aaron Neville impersonation is severely underrated in these comments🖒
Like, it really is and Idky
Who plays Neville?
PAULETTE MARIE Yearout Horatio Sanz
You are so right!
He absolutely nailed it!
I came here strictly for this impersonation! Horatio Kills me.
Steve Carell's version of Ray Romano is very impressive. What talent 😄
Bill Hader's Al Pacino.... the boss.
Awesome, no..?
Yes!!👏
I love that Seth Meyers plays Anderson Cooper, and then later steals Stefon from his wedding to Anderson Cooper 😂
Never thought Seth could be this hot. His cheekbones are on point!
Maybe he's Anderson, maybe it's Maybelline. 😂
Maybe you're funny and clever😉!!!
-_-
I'm gonna cry. I actually remember watching this as a 15 year old in my parents basement. I was watching a legend be born. I LOVE YOU BILL
My baby
Sanz just kills me here
Sanz is amazing.
Hilarious
I saw Aaron Neville live in concert and Horatio Sanz is spot on here haha
Daniel Delayne
😭🎵😭🎵
9/9/19
Bill Hadler is another fantastic comedian and impressionist. Thank God for SNL for bringing us so many incredible people over the years.
The Geraldo Rivera part was hilarious. Well done in Darrell Hammond
Damn nobody going to talk about that Tony Danza
for real tho
That Aaron Neville impression is GOLD!! PURE GOLD!!
Seth and Bill too funny - everyone soo awesome in this skit
😂😂😂😂 these were all great but bless that Aaron Neville impersonation that was spot-on hahahahahaha I miss Horatio Sanz
i watch this at least once a year. just for that cocoa butter bit
same. horatio crushes it.
Logan May
I love me some Horatio sanz
OMG @4:07 Horatio Sanz steals the entire skit lol
Agreed
Jesus H, he's awesomely talented. You are exactly right. If Hader looked more like Pacino, he'd have been the best, but Sans is incredible.
That Geraldo impression was amazing too.
Seth looks like Ben Stiller's younger skinny, n silver blonde bro
That Geraldo exit was P r i c e le s s!!!!!!
That Aaron Neville shit had me cryin!!!
Horatio was spot on. Love him!
at 2:50 a legend was born and been flying high since then
If Aaron Neville saw this he would have to be crackn up. What in the world made them do Aaron Neville
I Kno he saying"Why the cocoa butter tho?🤣🤣🤣🤣
Imagine Aaron Neville laughing, just a chuckle.
Damon Richardson
He's a New Orleans native.
9/9/19
Sanz impression of Aaron Neville is what made the skit for me, it’s so spot on lmaooo
He's from NOLA
Kenan: Why do I gotta be Spongebob?
Because you and him are the ones still on your networks even after more than 15 years
andy doing a wonderful job as camera man
Horatio has a godly singing voice.
Horatio Sanz!!!!❤💛💚💙
I couldn't figure who played Geraldo. It was Darrell Hammond. Well done.
Seth is really damn handsome
Bill is amazing but also Seth looks so good with bleached hair
This is one of the best sketch I've watched.
The Aaron Neville was spot on.
More than being spot on it was very funny. I hope that Aaron got a laugh or three out of it.
These impersonations are spot on!🤣
I came here solely for the Aaron Neville impression. And stayed for the Ray Ramono.
Aaron is my favorite too.
Tony Danza cracked me up the most.
Al Pacino and Aaron Neville killed it lol
Watching this sketch from 2005 in 2021 is like going back and watching old videos from high school.
I quote "there's a shih-tzu stuck in a Spanish oak tree" at every given opportunity.
Damn Horatio killed that Aaron Neville impression 🤣 Had me laughing my ass off in the break room.
Omg! Hilarious. Every imitation was spot on LOL
It's 2022 and I'm still watching Bill Hader and Seth Meyers!
Al Pacino was spot on D:
Damn he looks like Draco Malfoy!
I always thought Horatio Sanz was one of the funniest dudes on that show I wish they put him in more skits!
He would always crack me up when he broke character during skits. 😂🤣
Yeah. He’s really funny
damn, seth looks pretty in this sketch. that hair suits him surprisingly well. pout more baby!
Off topic but seth looks amazing bleach blonde
Is Steve Carell playing Ray Romano?
Yes It Is!
Funk O'Matic
Likewise 😭
9/9/19
He looks so young!!
no
@@okkcomputer then who ?
Haha Stone in the back, smiling like an idiot :P
Damn, Bill’s first ever sketch and he gets applauded mid scene. That says it all.
I've always had a soft spot for Horatio Sanz.
I am so glad Lorne discovered Bill Hader. The two or three seasons before he got hired were a dark period for SNL. With Hader, my generation had its own Phil Hartman where we had one cast member who could absolutely blow us away with the depth of their talent and carry the show week in and week out. To date, he's the last cast member you could argue for the GOAT title.
The irony that Bill’s first sketch was with Seth being Anderson Cooper, the man that Stefan almost married, is a SERIOUS head trip
the bill part cracked me up
plus the ray romano impression was amazing
oh my god seeing bills back just waiting in anticipation for him to turn around and make history
Maya Rydolph is the shit. And so is Horatio Sanz
Steve Carell Ray impression?
amazingly good!
Of course Bill's first sketch is him impersonating Al Pacino. XD
Is that Andy Samberg with the camera for Fox News?
Darrell Hammond
The camera man, yep.
Kinda ironic how he used to be a camera man for a station that cancelled his show 9 years later
@@TheKat018 he wasn't a real camera man, just for the sketch 😂
kath keane That’s also not what irony means
4:23 Is the best lmao
Aaron Neville is the cocobutter guy
Aaron Neville’s impression is awesome.
Horatio S one of the best. Hilarious! #underrated
So underrated I'm mad how he was overlooked always took control
Love how fox news just stole the cnn camera and the fox news cameraman just took Rivera's back shots. 😆
I've watched three SNL clips on UA-cam so far and heard the VERY LOUD music at the end for a total of 12 minutes. It's a really good idea to have that on every......single......clip. So what if it's a 50/50 split between comedy and VERY LOUD exit music.
literally watched this to stare at Seth
Suprised that they didn't put Anderson Cooper in a creek like he was when he was trying to show a place had flooded. It wasn't flooded, he was just standing in a creek, when you see the photo showing the wide view, the camera man is on the side of the road and dry, so funny.
And thus, the legend of Bill Hader was born.
Huh I guess Stefon ended up with Meyers AND Cooper lol
Am I the only one that thinks Seth kinda looks like Ryan from the office in this skit 😂 😂
5:54 said the whole dictionary 😂😂
That's hilarious, I'm friends with Aaron back in Los Angeles. He's a really good dude. Never knew they played him on SNL lol 🤣😅 🤣
I hope he had a laugh if he saw it, it was a very funny impression of him, ridiculous but very funny.
Horatio had me dying.
I mistakenly thought 4:15 was suppose to be Neil Degrasse Tyson 😂
I know I comment this on every SNL skit, but Bill is so talented❤️
From the thumbnail alone, I can't be the only one who initially thought Horatio Sanz was Danny McBride...
