    Cool video, lots of footage of Charleston SC during Hurricane Hugo used to represent the evacuation of Louisville. I would not have known had I not lived through it and recognized several of the news crew video shots, so many of those scenes got replayed non stop for a good ten years after the hurricane. Makes sense to use that, very similar old southern architecture, scenes of evacuations, gridlock on the streets from all the cars trying to leave. It took my family hours to make it out of just Charleston county during the Evacuation, made to North Carolina, only to end up being in its eye anyways and finding out it was still quite a powerful storm even hundreds of miles inland. We had two separate tornadoes go right by our motel room that nights. Going back to Charleston was surreal, fallen trees everywhere, houses in the middle of streets from floating of their foundations, a huge yacht sitting in the middle of the Hardee's parking lot downtown, and then we got home to find our house still standing, only to then realize that dead fish should not be littered in the yard and street, and then we walk in to find waterlines three feet up the wall and the house and everything in it ruined. I was nine at the time and still remember a lot of it like it yesterday.

    • @bobsnow6242
      @bobsnow6242 Рік тому +15

      That's because the last part is not AI; it's a clip from a 1983 program called "Special Bulletin" that presented fictitious news reports, War Of The Worlds-style, about terrorists smuggling a nuclear device into the harbor of Charleston, SC and the way the government, authorities, and media would deal with it. It had a fairly big production budget and cast which is how they got all those actors dressed as cops and bystanders for their clips.
      From what I can tell the uploader didn't change anything from the original program, he just cut a small segment that didn't mention WHAT the people were fleeing from (a bomb in the original vs. zombies in this video) and used it for his own video. Which is a tad disingenuous since he seems to be passing the whole thing off as AI-generated.

They showed these videos on our local news every anniversary of the storm for a good tens years, and they were showed non stop for the first two years after the storm. Excellent work! Five stars!!! Now do one with just footage on the ground and interviews with citizens of Knox and Lousiville!!! Like an independent exposé from behind the event line.

    Imagine recording it on VHS, burying it and waiting until someone dig it up in a 100-200 years later 😂😂😂

      Strangely enough magnetic tape is far more resilient to the passage of time than any form of digital media. Stored in a Faraday cage and otherwise shielded from cosmic rays and other atmospheric conditions that would degrade the tape itself, moisture, light etc, the humble VHS will outlive any equipment that can play it by hundreds if not thousands of years. Even with some degradation it has the advantage of being analog so there are no bit flips to worry about, the format is inherently redundant, and so is incredibly robust.
      Burying a VHS in an airtight container at least 2 feet down and tossing in some desiccant packets would preserve it quite well.

    Not all of this is AI generated, the segment at the end with "RBS" is pulled from a made-for-TV movie called Special Bulletin. It was about a group of amateur terrorists setting off a nuclear weapon in Charleston, SC.

      Honestly one of my favorite movies, it fits certain PZ events pretty nicely, though I agree it’s pretty misleading, when I’m done uploading a version of this vid with fixed audio I’ll change the title and description a little.
