Would you buy a Kryptonite lock?
I have a Kryptonite Standard New York Lock MSRP $100
I'm still trying to find info on the other lock, but I believe it is an older New York Lock.
My key works on BOTH. This is a total stranger's bike. This should not be happening for the exorbitant price and reputation of Kryptonite. - Навчання та стиль
oh thats how my 400$ bike was stolen yesterday! I also had a kryptonite lock.
pretty much I bought this lock for a false sense of security...how useful.

Pad locks are the same, if you buy enough of the exact lock you will be bound to get matching keys. Having a limited number of keys keeps production costs down for the company, but puts bikes at risk of being ripped off. I have seen lots of other videos like yours, so I wonder just how many different key combinations they use? That's why I always back up my u-lock with a separate cable lock.
i posted your video 2 times on Kryptonite official facebook page, asking if this was possible, and they replied:
"absolutely should not happen... when videos such as this are posted we usually reach out to the customer and get those locks and key(s) back so our engineers can take a look and see what is going on.

I got my lock in 2012. The lock I opened was ostensibly older.
I guess the next question is can an old kryptonite key open a new lock, and can a new key open other NEW locks.
