The Death of Ysera is probably the most heartwrenching part of the entire franchise, especially as a druid main. If anything came from Shadowlands, her return is the greatest thing. Her and Nozdormu are by far the most interesting of the aspects, and I would love to see more of both her and the dream itself.
My heart character is a druid, and Ysera's death was heartwrenching. It was the only time I noped out of the game, and I still don't replay that part whenever I level in the zone.
I always sort of Roleplayed my druid main and I was seriously considering to play Ardeweald just because of her...and to lesser extend Bwomsandi... But I was extremely happy that Winter Qeen saved her, tough my opinion on Shadowlands was more than dubious
@@Daralyndk So much felt iffy and just half-hearted in Shadowlands. I had sort of hopes in the beginning, but it all just vanished while levelling. Now I can't wait to see how the story unfolds, it's so much more fun to play. And I loved seeing the green dragons again!
Personally, Ysera's lore is the most tear jerking stuff in Warcraft. The Legion storyline was the one that brought me to absolute waterfall of tears. It was an amazing experience to play through. She's the best, alongside Alexstrasza off course 💚❤️
Legion seemed like we couldn’t catch a break. Loss after loss. Varian, Tyrion, Vol’Jin. When Ysera died and Elune saved her, it felt like even though we were losing, there was still a glimmer of hope.
There was a bug than made it so the quest where you have the tear of Elune in your inventory doesn't remove the item when you turn it in. I have it to this day. Blizzard can pry it out of my cold dead hands. That bag space belongs to Ysera.
Most characters are chock full of tragedy in warcraft. Ysera's lore is one of the less tragic ones. But yeah, Legion was really really good vibes and her death certainly hit home
I actually cried in real life when she was corrupted by Zavius. The scene where Tyrande cleanses her soul and that beautiful music plays gets me every time. When she was renewed in Ardenweald I was so happy and cried again lol (good tears this time.) This story of Ysera was amazing. Thank you for putting it all together. I'm pretty sure I'll cry if/when Ysera gets to fly the skies of Azeroth again.
As a druid Main, i honestly cried about her death in Legion… an yet again cried the Moment i found out its ysera inside that wild Seed in ardenweald. And … again while the Winter Queen resurrected her… so Mandy emotions 😅
Bellular… I know you say you make these at a loss but man - these are amazing!!! Movie quality, engaging storytelling narration, and just pure perfection in gathering all the lore… I’ve been playing this game for 14 years and always learn from your videos… please don’t ever stop!! You and your team are amazing!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
It's a 15 minute youtube clip with all background cinematics and music already "provided" to them by Blizzard, any fan could make it but maybe not as well produced, but why would they openly say they make it at a loss? It makes zero sense and also irks me
@@Cloud-dq1mr I disagree… yes some of the footage is from the game, but you can tell some was created by them. Also, it still requires TONS of research to ensure the details are correct, time to write scripts and keep it concise, thought to put it together, and editing is ridiculously harder than one would think if you’ve never done it before. Personally, I’m glad his team does what they do, but we are all welcome to our own opinions. 🤟🏽
It's wild how central to everything she always has been, I just hope they do her right if and when they bring her back through that big Emerald portal in the plains.
I still think Emerald dream is one of the most interesting parts of warcraft lore. Primordial azeroth living without human intervention, source of power all druids. I love the mysteries behind it. Is it a dream of azeroth itself, dimension created by freya, or something even more anctient . I hope they never fully explain what the Emerald dream really is.
Having been a Druid main for so long, I generally prefer not to be a murder hobo. But when the green flight is under threat, it’s time to rip and tear.
Love the video, she's my favorite dragon 🌱💚🌱 (with how the story is moving forward so far in dragonflight, I hope Merithra gets a new look soon. Everyone else has gotten their glow ups)
Dude thank you for putting together a phenomenal video on one of my favorite characters in this game and one that always inspires some of my best characters.
It's so hard dodging spoilers with the renown gating. I want to be able to play through the context before watching the cutscenes, but they really are plastered everywhere while I sit here at Valdraken renown level 9
I've mailed a druid for years it was the saddest part of wow to see all these corrupted friends in legion, then to see them again in shadowlands. A few things I nvr understand thx for the video. It cleared up alot
Okay, I have this conversation a LOT with my friend. I do not really care for Night Elf lore, or that of the Night Elven areas of the game. Ysera was a character I did not really pay much mind to, I always revered her of course, being that I adore the dragon lore. So, when I played through Val'sharah in Legion, and I watched Ysera die, I was absolutely befuddled by the deluge of tears I cried. It still lingers today, whenever I hear Nightsong, especially when the song reaches the harmonic calling of Nordrassil, I tear up immensely. I figure it stings so much because Ysera, though she can be fierce, is a wholly peace seeking creature. I am writing this before I watch the video, because I am sure that Nightsong will play, and it's very tough to type with tears in my eyes.
I really like these game-footage montages. But it's really funny how everyone appears with their current HD models and then there's Ysera with that cataclysmic;) 144p model xD
The core real problem with shadowlands and it's lack of consequence is that the concept of death in wow now has to be ignored or forcefully enforced because death feels like a minor inconvenience now that it was "tamed"
That’s only if shadowlands is the ONLY afterlife. And we know from multiple stories that there are other places a soul can go. I personally am treating most of Shadowlands story as a fever dream as we all recovered from fighting nzoth.
I hate how there was no explanation to the transition between Shadowlands and Dragonflight. How did we get back to Azeroth? Just took an ordinary portal from a basic mage? Even though it's a travel to a different realm instead of just a location? And when we got back, there was no talk about what happened while we were gone?
@@ChinnuWoW and how you end in different timeline in Ashran? Yes as a roleplayer I am too annoyed by certain mechanics, tough they are necessary for the game itself
Ysera has been my favorite since reading Day of the Dragon and seeing her in WotLK. I hated what they did with her in Legion-the setup for her death was so sloppy and hamfisted, when experienced firsthand in game. The Ardenweald arc where you bring her back was the single best part of Shadowlands.
As winter queen use her power to ressurect Ysera, She also gave her power to Ysera so this is why others saying you looks different , touch by death you know She said now i am less connected to Dreamland , I think her role will change passive to strong active role maybe_=? I hope, i want to see her use powers more ofthen.
I don't really say it often, because in the past you made some questionable videos, mostly because of the vibe you proposed with your videos, but this time you really nailed it. Great video , really good job to you and your team. Keep it up.
Hi, you seem to know alot about this game, my son who is 9 plays all the time, he's always talking about players called Whaz and Swapzy, these people seem to be his absolute hero's, have you any suggestions how I could get one of these players to sign a WOW poster for him, It would make his christmas. :)
I feel sorry for you having to recount to Shidowlands story. It was going great until that point, but for the rest of the video I couldn't only hear "Oh noh da chucler took da sigil" in my head 😀
I mean, we know people from the Shadowlands can make it into other realms, so definitely possible. Big question is, will she still be linked to Ardenweald though even if she enters Azeroth again.
I think Ysera is a prime example that blizz’s direction of constantly killing off key and important characters is always a terrible idea (at least the way blizz do it). Yes, we know Ysera is back but this was rumoured to not always be the direction where it was going to go. She is such a great character and we need her and the others securely in the story/lore
I hate the winter queen as a character. She's as weak in terms of character and personality as the jailer, but now I know that she demanded malfurion to stay in ardenweald because she was salty that her sister didn't help her fight against the jailer. Lovely.
And if they do revive her then that basicly means nothing really matters and if somebody dies thats pointless sins they will just revive them later. Making everything completley irelevant.
I loved Ysera’s story until about 30 mins ago when I found out they’re trading her for Malfurion. Quit fcking with us, blizzard, if you’re gonna kill a character make them STAY DEAD! It reads like a 6th grade RP
i know it's little late but I think it would be nice if someone change thumbnail with new Ysera. her Old model look weird compared to all new other Ascpects models
Official lore claims that the corruption started when the Vordrassil's roots touched Yogg-saron's prison in Northrend, leading to the Night Elves having to destroy it. Fandral Staghelm wasn't corrupted yet either. So.. where is all of this video content coming from?
@Bellular Warcraft So that was the "corruption" that was eluded to in classic? Specific to that tree I suppose, not the beginning of the Nightmare itself. That makes more sense, thanks.
