You would be a great architect or a realtor, Ethan. Your enthusiasm, respect and appreciation for every single detail is impressive. I love your videos! Always enjoyable! I love this style of house-all that tile throughout the first house is pretty wild though! 😎 The second house was nicely updated, even though the color choices were a little boring. Both were nice homes. Too bad they had to be torn down. Thanks for the tours!
Honestly I love the 60’s 70’sand 80’s homes so much better than the newer homes. They are cozier than newer homes. Thank you for bringing these homes so we can enjoy them.
The first one was lovingly maintained all of those years. We have a lot of these split levels where I am in Ohio...they are my favorite homes. I'd take one of these over a new McMansion any day. I can't believe how close you are to that magical 100k. So happy to be here and still enjoying your videos since before the start when you just popped up in Carlo's.
Split level homes are my favorite style too. It feels like the adventure never ends, even when you live there. You’re always “exploring” different levels. The cold cellars are sooo practical! I think a lot of people may start wishing they had them now.
The second desk you found in the basement had a storage compartment for a typewriter so you could open it for work, and then close the desk at night. They were quite common in offices of the time.
1st house was better and way nicer. Pretty funky tiles and wallpaper. I think it was a pool, looks like it got filled in. That pile of concrete outside the 2nd house was probably a patio or a pool. Great explores Ethan. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Always love this era of homes. First one seemed to gave a bit more personality with wallpapers and paint colors. Love all the brick fireplaces and cool floor tiles and those always awesome period light fixtures. Can’t imagine what these fine brick houses are being sacrificed for. Seemed like they would have seen fun times. Wow 99.8k subscribers! Any day now Ethan. Take care keep well and be safe.
This house was in perfect condition. Those bathrooms were in pristine condition. I mean somebody kept those tub/showers scrubbed and cleaned. Some paint, new flooring and counter tops and this would have been a great home. Thanks for your share. Loved it!
Makes me so sad to see these well built homes being torn down. So many people in this world that need a place to live and these still valuable homes being torn down.
The first home was amazing! I would of loved to have it!! Didn't see any visible damage and with a few updates would of been perfect. The house was so well taken care of! Thanks for sharing Ethan.
The bathrooms in the first house were first rate 70s. I wouldn’t change anything about them if I were to buy that place. What a shame it has to be demolished. Another fine video.
I want the first house as is. Tell the crew to back off. This place is priceless. Worth more than the crappy new builds. We had an oak desk that when lifted held the typewriter. Salvage as much as possible. I like both places. Nothing boring about the layouts of both. I get a kick out of when you see those funky tiles. It was normal then because it was a creative and expressive time. I feel sorry for kids today growing up in grey tones and monochromatic blandness. Thanks for making this video. Hope you got some pictures for documentation.
Its too bad that we live in such a throwaway society. This house isnt that old less than 50 years . Its so clean too. You would think that it would still be of some use. such a shame
These are the kind of homes I love. So much character and charm. There isn't much I would change. Absolutely love the light fixture in the master bathroom!!!!
Ethan i started watching your channel way back because of it's content and your videos are definitely one of my favorites, but i love how much you are so genuine with appreciation to your viewers and respect for the homes you explore!
When we bought our 70s ranch in 2006, it had the exact chandelier in the dining room. We bought our house from my husband's family's estate (to downsize after our kids left home), when my Father-in-law passed away. He and my mother-in-law built the home in 1976. My MIL died a year-and-a-half later and my FIL never changed anything in the 30 years he lived there.
If I had a dollar for every time I heard "by the time you see this it'll be gone",😂 That just hurts to see such history/ beauty wiped away. Someone really loved and took care of that first home.
After thought. There will be the day to come when these builds will be worth more than any new one because of the simple elegant architecture. I can picture how well loved these homes are. What a throw away Society we live in here in Ontario.
I love the tiles and wallpapers. The kitchen is very nice too.The patterns are very pretty,I think in the tiles and paper as well.Lots of storage spaces which I like Another beauty thank you Ethan 👍❤️🇺🇸
That second house brings back great memories of the 70's, I built a bar in the basement of our house. And all the family parties we had and I played the music while someone else tended the bar😊.
I hate seeing good homes go empty and neglected for decades. So many people out there looking and unable to buy. Yet here is another example of wasted property.
I Love This Bedroom n the Pink yes that’s my Color too✝️✝️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🩷🩷🩷🌸🌸🌸 My kind of home.. I Love the Vintage Look. I’m sorry I don’t care for the newer modern homes.. Seriously Love this Look Ethan Minnie. Perfect Home … when can I move this home 🌸🌸🌸🩷🩷🩷💕💕💕
One suggestion for you. You need a good small flashlight, or cube light, for the dark places. It would make it so much nicer if we could see better in some of these places.
Wow Ethan! Cool houses, both well kept and clean. That first house was really amazing with few updates. So awesome! What a shame and both with dry non moldy basements! Oh and you’re looking so cute again without a cap!
❤same year i was born . The house is definitely stuck in the 70 s ..thank you Ethan for taking all of us with you on this house tour ..just shy of 100k explore peace ✌️✌️out
Perfect timing For A Friday Night Adventure 🙌 Ethan ALWAYS bring Us Nothing But The Best CONTENT 💯 Thanks For The Upload ☺️ Blessings from SAN ANTONIO TEXAS 🙏♥️
1st house amazing, love the architecture here! Second house, great basement, but upstairs was all boring and updated. But gosh, I would totally live in the first house!
I said it before. You should get you license to Salvage. You could save or rescue a lot of vintage items and architecture and decor. You resell some items to people who are restoring their homes. Or you could repurpose some items and sell them. You don't have to do it yourself. You could hire people to do it for you. Maybe not right away but over time you could build a profitable business.
Love the retro look that's been preserved in this home! Well kept. I especially love the light fixtures in the ensuite upstairs. Look to be made of capiz shell. Perfect for a bathroom! Again, sad that it's being demolished.
Prime examples of the endless array of patterns of tiles, wall coverings that really let one's personal tastes and style shine through! Funky cool! I would bet also that the first house was most likely a lifetime owner, something that always seems incredible and special. I'm not 💯 sure that kitchen was '70s though, they just didn't seem to blend with the rest of the house or with cabinetry, they seemed more like 80s home improvement store style, but in any case, that kind has never appealed to me. I thought the second house was great, the basement bar with the orange was super cool! Great explore! ✌️
Ok. The truth about those lovely 70s panel basements. I dated a guy in around 1980. He had one with a pool table and these weird flickering light bulbs. And a sofa. Creepy af. 😂
Re: The glued shut attic. Looked like it was a kid’s room. I would have been standing on a chair trying to climb up in there if it had been my room growing up, so I understand. 😂
The epitome of the 1970s, a swag lamp in the kitchen, the Swedish ball was possibly a replacement for a pendulum style shade and swag lamp in the bathroom, circa 1972 or so. I think you are right , one careful owner. it is like a time warp in there. Second home, much more utilitarian, except for the bar with the orange laminate counter. cool Ethan.
would be kewl, if they would let you or someone that loves the 1970's aesthetic as much as we do, come in and carefully remove all that beautiful tile, and everything else 1970's in there before it ends up in a pile of rubble. maybe for a small fee, if their going to destroy it with the house. tho don't really know any way to remove wall paper, especially that old, without tearing it, maybe with some sort of steamer?, a very gentle hand and a lot of patience . . . .
I wonder how you get to the point where you would think it's a good idea to cover literally 60 % of your house in that tile? Probably the height of the tile craze I'm guessing. Everyone has different tastes in home decor for sure. Beautiful house ... I would be a little cross-eyed looking at all that tile though.
Hi Ethan, there’s something going on with your phone, it’s not focusing at distance, only when you go close up, it was the same in the last video, thanks Bill

Ah thanks for explaining that. Pity modern desks can’t hide computer monitors when you need the flat surface!
I think you're right about having one owner because it has been kept very nice. The floors look like they were just cleaned!!
That linoleum was a good purchase. Lasted forever and looks new!
1st house was better and way nicer. Pretty funky tiles and wallpaper. I think it was a pool, looks like it got filled in. That pile of concrete outside the 2nd house was probably a patio or a pool.

What a shame to demolish a well built home like that. It has so much character in every room. I would have loved to have owned this home.
Beautiful house, the folks that lived there took such good care of the house, I’m diggin the blue drapes, thanks Ethan

This was the house of tiles and lots of clashing colours patterned wall paper. Interesting.
Thanks for the video Ethan
Really enjoyed the 70’s house with tile. My favorite time period! Such a shame to demo all that great nostalgia! TFS
Italians liked to decorate like that. It's coveneecho!
One suggestion for you. You need a good small flashlight, or cube light, for the dark places. It would make it so much nicer if we could see better in some of these places.
The first house was great with all those windows with the built-in blinds. 😍
Wow Ethan! Cool houses, both well kept and clean. That first house was really amazing with few updates. So awesome! What a shame and both with dry non moldy basements! Oh and you’re looking so cute again without a cap!
Oh, so many lovely retro fittings that could recycled in the first home. Sad the second one has been “beiged”, ugh.
What’s this house turning into? Once it’s gone and why destroy it when this place is still liveable
Very cool two for one it's just unbelievable they tear those places down 😎🆒 explore and you were very excited to

Okay, this place is 47 years old and NEVER been changed? Thats crazy!
It's a shame such a lovely house (the first one) is slated for destruction. I would so live there with minimal changes as I love the 70s

The tile work in the first house in those bathrooms was awesome. Loved that 3rd brown bathroom the best.
What another great find too Ethan and good job ❤️
That carpet in the crawl space in the basement is underlay for carpet.

Ethan, you should do a livestream after you hit a 100k. That would be really cool!
Such beautiful tile! So sad it couldn't be saved and reused.
This was right up my alley!! I love the 70 retro style!
Loved the kitchen in the first house
Both houses were nice it shows how different people live I didn't find the second one boring at all
I loved the brown bathroom......very unusual!😅😊
Did you drop Carlo back at the nuthouse? They were looking for him. He's unpredictable, ya know.😮
Love the retro look that's been preserved in this home! Well kept.

It's been well took care of. Someone has lived there. They really took care of the place very very clean
Ethan great video is usual
That was a nice desk lamp in the second house garage.
The bathroom you said was trippy lol the light fixture is the same that is in my bathroom on moving in and left it lol😊
You need to invest in a good light,I couldn't see anything in the basement. Just an FYI
Indeed Ethan, please. The good strong light would be very beneficial. It might be a tax write-off as well!
Ok. The truth about those lovely 70s panel basements. I dated a guy in around 1980. He had one with a pool table and these weird flickering light bulbs. And a sofa. Creepy af. 😂

My dad built bespoke fireplaces for people in our village in the 1970s. X

Why does Canada tear do all these homes, i understand if there is damage but most of them are beautiful and unique
Many get torn down to build the latest fancier home. What a waste.
