Fantastic that the Ducati is alive again. Such informative videos. Great stuff mate. 12000 miles away and a bunch of mates out for a ride is just the same as over here. Awesome.
Omg! I cant believe its done. And that awesome easy fire up no problems! Man what a job. Good job bro! So happy to see a fresh kid on the street again. All rebuild perfect Ducati! Thank you for these videos they are SO AWESOME! Thanks bro take care ride safe. ENJOY!
So you rebuild every damn bit of that engine and it rewards you by basically going to war with it, the bike and all the ‘accessories’. I’m under no illusion that removing, rebuilding and refitting an engine is no small task. But fuuuuuuuck, you’ve the patience of a saint. Is anything easy, even reasonable, on a Ducati? You’d be forgiven for thinking all the designers and engineers were pure sadists for the way that thing’s built. Great job, awesome vid Andy!
Sadly here in the U.K., not allowed to visit family, elderly relatives or mates and unless you have to go out to work in a protected industry, must stay at home except for essential shopping and 1 hours daily exercise outdoors, so not strictly allowed to go biking. Hopefully this doesn’t last forever. Love the sound of your Ducati, and have enjoyed this series.
Wow what a sound that bike makes! Wasn't expecting to see even a first start in this instalment never mind you riding it! Well done again for all the hard work and thanks to all who have supported this build series:)
well Andy.its done.sounds good, like a new bike, glad it turned out for the best, interesting project and very worthwhile. In regard to the camera gear, glad i am not the only muppet that leaves things at home,When you first mentioned guess what my first thought was you forgot the spare batteries. When you said you left the lot at home i nearly fell off the chair.Anyway congrats on the great effort and a great result.I am jealous i dont have something to ride as bikes have been a huge part of my life.Maybe soon i can get something.cheers and well done.greg
Brilliant. Just brilliant. In these lockdown days here in England, it’s great to be able to go for a virtual ride on your big Duke, Andy. Bloody great job on the bike, mate. It’s been the best thing on UA-cam. And, finally, I loved the music as you gently lubed the swinging arm bushes. I showed it to my missus and she burst out laughing 😂
The bike sounds awesome Andy, especially when you throttle back, just love the sound of the Ducati, you can’t beat it. Fantastic job you’ve done. Nice one. Hopefully when things get back too some sort of normality, maybe I will get my Ducati out and give it some exercise. Take care good care mate, stay safe. Hamish.
Andy mate, your face tells a thousand words, you must be so pleased to have her back on the road, must have been frustrating for you with the wait for the parts, but as always, professional and interesting to watch, time for a beer 🍺 now😜
Great vid Andy its been quite a journey. Im very pleased i was able to come along on that ride and see the obvious pleasure that bike was giving you. Jeez that backfiring is loud!!!!! Cheers mate.
Great video mate. Enjoyed the ride out. And you have done a great job on your bike. Sounds the dog nuts. Ride safe Andy. See you on the next video. 😜. Ian.
Bravo Zulu Andy, so happy for you. Nice teamwork to get the motor in top shape. I learned a few new tips. Now you've reignited the desire to see Tassie again by bike and Phillip Island is a fading hope for November's ride you''ve given me an idea.
That music when greasing the swing arm spindle hole 😂. Another entertaining video thanks for that. There's a reason most of us don't video the work we do on our bikes. It's not always safe or pretty
Chuffed for you Andy. Really chuffed. Me & the misses are on our 14th day of lockdown/seclusion in Great Britain. You keep safe Andy, and your family & friends.
That motor looks great, like it is brand new! Hope it runs strong for you. And from those of us that are "working from home", thanks for keeping after this. I need to get off my backside and get after the leaking output shaft seal on my Harley. Do wish I had some kind of lift table to keep from wrecking my back, but have to just work with the jack again.
Fantastic , it's so frustrating watching you struggle on your own ( swing arm fitting) feel like putting my arm through the screen, Tom n Jerry style ! She sounds well sweet 😍
It’s a beautiful thing. You downplayed your reaction on startup but I imagine you got a big high from those moments. I guess you don’t want to share the cost but would have made my eyes water I think. Loved the series. Sad it’s over. Thanks for taking us on the adventure.
That must be one heck of a relief to finally get all the bits on and running. Great series, thank you for taking the time to do this series of videos and stay safe!
Well done Andy! Was great to see that you started this video with fitting the engine. Didn't expect that you would continue all the way to riding it. Absolutely epic!!
Sounds like it was well worth all, the work. It coming on Spring here in the Northwest of US about time to wake up my old Suzuki V-Strom 1000 with pipes that make it sound like your bike..
Hi Andy, from an Andy in Ireland, got swayed to this channel from Lamb chops' Hypermotard 'refresh' series which I'm enjoying so much, Man , that was a some work, perseverance and patience you've shown and that was just on the cameras and editing!😂 I'm delighted you chose to finish the recording of the complete project all the way to the end as I've watched it pretty much back to back from start to finish and thoroughly enjoyed the insight. What a beautiful finished project it turned out to be, a credit to you all round! Hope you get to enjoy it as much as you can, So what's the next project gonna be? Any 851sp3 projects on the cards???😂 Stay safe and keep it between the hedges!
Congratulations Andy!!!...I know you are "in the clouds" Happy to be back "up" riding!!!..I have so much to do on my "Bull Nose" I seriously doubt I'll have it together this year...just to many bikes in front of it to build...Sounds nice and rattles just right!!..I never noticed, but you did reweld the "neck" didn't you?? 100% of the 900's crack..Some have warranty replacement frames..I just ground mine down and rewelded it properly...👍👍👍for the build (especially liked the S2 Head Conversion)..We don't even have freedom of movement..backed up with the guarantee of Violence and insane $50,000 fines!!!...Everybody is pretty pissed..Stay Healthy..🇺🇸
Andy, really enjoyed the engine build video's. I'm looking to get a 900ss myself and reviewing your videos has given me a lot of info. One question:- could you supply the seat to foot peg distance. I'm just getting over a knee replacement and have lost a little bit of bend. Thanks in advance
Brilliant Andy, a real engineers rebuild and you’ve got a spanking good bike there now. But what are we gonna do for video content now the whole world is locked down? Maybe some good old Ducati gremlin will rear it’s head so you have to do more work on her? Only Joking mate, as you aussies say you’ve got a real ripper there, ride her and enjoy .
Well done Andy, great series and end result. I didn’t notice and valve clearances being done, I assume that was done when the heads were reconditioned ? Can’t wait to get my Multistrada 1200 down to Tassie (I’ve been twice before on my GSX-1400). Stay safe and hope you have another project to share with us soon.
G’day mate, I’ve just been scrolling back through the comments and realised that since my last iPhone update I haven’t been receiving UA-cam Creator Studio notifications. I see that you have left a number of comments so first of all, welcome, and second, thank you.
@@ANDY5 , you are welcome. Really enjoy your videos, i always learn something valuable, and try to apply that knowledge to my own wrenching on my motorcycle. Stay well !
I was wondering who was going to jump on that!!!! Complete with the porn music and a greasy finger in a hole, in and out... several times!!! Fuck I laughed hard at that!!!!!
Great to see the Duc back on the road mate and thus far running trouble and smoke free for you after such a extensive engine rebuild. Only 1 issue is at the end did you have to include the footage of you buggers scooting around the southern outlet to the Margate train which makes me think of why I miss the bloody road down there you lucky bugger, pity about those roadworks though Andy. I have already booked my holidays for Feb 2021 and I'll be on the boat to scoot around for trip #8.
What a strange exhaust firing each cylinder's exhaust straight toward each other..at least there are two silencers....Good to see Motul oil going in...it is running beautifully, reminds me of how great riding a Ducati is.
Andy's Motorcycle Obsessions 🤔 Yeh a bit crap at the moment, we’ve waited all winter for some good weather and get some riding done, some is forecast for the next week but we are all locked down. But it’s all for the right reasons. Keep safe fella👍🏻
Yay Andy, awesome result, she sounds beautiful, and you had some excellent camera work when you were getting her back together. You had a fun ride out, weather looked great, (what sort of temperature was it ..?) and you got to clean her again afterwards.. 🙂 Thanks for the videos, enjoyable and motivating. Started the bike last week, think I'll take her out tomorrow. Stay safe 👍👍👍
Fantastic channel Andy. Two questions I missed in the video: 1) did you sync the carbs; 2) how do you expect the new steel basket will help reduce the clutch gap wear between plates and basket (ua-cam.com/video/MzBt4h48pX4/v-deo.html)? I'm tossing up between a steel basket or a Barnett SS shoed basket on my 2005 999S. If you find yourself in western Sydney someday, I've a couple o coldies waiting for you.
So good to hear the 900SS burst into life with a typical Duke rumble, great work Andy 👍👍👍👍
Lovely to hear the old girl purring away there congratulations!
Getting it done! 🦾🔧 People worry too much about scuffing paint etc, bikes are made to be ridden not cherished!
Good to see her running well. Lovely autumn days in Tassie!
So glad ya got the old girl back on the road and running like a ducati should do
Fantastic that the Ducati is alive again. Such informative videos. Great stuff mate. 12000 miles away and a bunch of mates out for a ride is just the same as over here. Awesome.
Andy, a cracking job well done. Loved the romantic music whilst applying the grease. that was sound. Yer a great lad.
Well done Andy, another good series to watch and learn from. Well done 👍
Well done getting it all back together. I’m hoping my 900SS will go for some time without needing surgery. 45,000km so far and still healthy.

Thanks mate, I don’t think that they are too bad if I’m honest. A lot of Japanese bikes are worse, especially more modern ones.
Superb job on the rebuild Andy , The Duke sounds great.
Cracking job Andy, all the hard work and diligence pays off ,
Glad to see it running again.

We are now at that stage as well 😕
Great job Andy! I throughly enjoyed your Ducati rebuild video and you have inspired me to begin an engine project on my 95’ SS.
Good stuff
Awesome! It looks and sounds spectacular!!!
Take all the time you need Andy the adults who are interested have no problem waiting for good things like your videos .
Wow what a sound that bike makes! Wasn't expecting to see even a first start in this instalment never mind you riding it! Well done again for all the hard work and thanks to all who have supported this build series:)
