Santa Clarita - Production on the Ranch

Located in Southern California, 35 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles is an area that exudes excellence when it comes to diversity in filming locations. With its rolling hills in all directions, its warm Mediterranean climate, a vast array of film friendly locations and not to mention its countless film ranches, the city of Santa Clarita continues to spark the interest of filmmakers all over the world.

I've worked on projects at Blue Cloud and Sable Ranch a number of times as well as other locations in Santa Clarita.
There is also a great facility in Pomona that gets used a lot. It used to be a mental health facility and it sits on a huge lot with older administration buildings a hospital, two full streets of residential houses and a couple of large homes, institutional kitchen, maintenance shops, a full size old creepy merry go round, a swimming pool. It used to house the families of patients and the staff as well.
It was left to the state when it closed and then Cal Poly Pomona took over and they rent it as film and tv filming location.
Another is King Gillette property, there are so many places.
I am a locations electrician, that works only on locations doing electrical work when a state licensed electrician is needed to do the hard wired /permanently installed electrical work. So I get to work in some of the most amazing places. It's a lot of hard work but a lot of fun also

The Pueblo village set was used several times for Star Trek TNG and DS9, as were the cave sets.
