Because Hunter brought more excitement to the race and is known for his kick. I can tell by that last sentence that you don’t care for non-American athletes. Who gives if Miller’s the future. Is he the present? Nope. Hunter ran 1:45i twice last year and made the Olympics for Australia. Even though Miller won, in my eyes the better 800 runner is Hunter.
@@timmytheinventor4746 miller won against hunter in all their head to heads last year, and is alot younger. I’m a big fan of both, but you’re just not speaking facts here.
@@iluvmelife "miller won against hunter in all their head to heads last year" There was only one head to head to speak of, and did Miller have any luck after NCAAs? No. He wasn't able to get into the final of the Olympic Trials, only running 1:48 and 1:47 at that meet. Hunter, on the other hand, did. Two PBs in a row, a 1:45.91 in the first round of the Olympics, which qualified him into the semifinals. And Hunter has better PBs indoors and outdoors too. I think that Hunter overrestimated this field's strength and played it too tactical - like most of his other races last year. He sits near the rear of the field, makes calculated decisions when and how to move, and shifts gears completely at the end. Alas, he couldn't match Miller's 1:15 600 speed and Engels admirable kick and came third. Had he taken control of this race from the gun, things would have been a lot different. The only times Miller has beaten Hunter is when Hunter has made obvious mistakes in his race. Let's put it this way. If Hunter had the perfect 800 race, and so did Miller, I think Hunter would come out on top. Miller will probably turn out to be the better 800 runner but for now I think that that title goes to Hunter.
He is talking more about Hunter than the winner.
Miller is one of Americas future in middle distance.
He was still a jerk for moving out into lane two to prevent the pass.

Miller needs to dip at the line. Engels almost caught him at the end
Brandon Miller had to fight for that one! Got a little Paul Chelimo in him at the end. 👍
Engels was lucky Geordie Beamish wasn't in the race!
