One of the greatest Altheas you'll ever hear. Jerry to the rescue after C.C. Rider made people already spun by Bird Song start to lose it. Purposeful ("You people need to listen carefully here") and gorgeous. Organic majesty to close the final jam that starts after the drummers slap you for forgetting the love you bring.
There is a Louis CK interview with Terry Gross where he talks about taking acid and seeing the Dead when he was 13. From all the info he gave, it was most likely this very show.

Was at this show...I was a Jr in High School....The Old Garden had a lot of faults but still holds that special place saw so many shows there....my first Bruins game & of course the circus....and it always smell like the circus....great memories other than the nasty LA (low alcohol) beer that they sold at the very top....

Bob Marley was playing in town same night, I elected to go to the Dead show. We were hoping he would come by and join the band for a song or two.
Bob Marley & the Wailers' final performance was Sept. 23, 1980, at the Stanley Theatre in Pittsburgh.
