UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

In my experience people can't get the engines started so get rid of the whole machine. This past weekend I got 2 craftsman pressure washers at Lowes for $25 each being sold as customer returns for parts only. They look almost brand new. Turned out to be stale gas and undergapped spark plugs. No one at Lowes even bothered to check the machines, they just accepted the return no questions asked.

Briggs and Stratton claim the pump oil never needs replacing. Only seals go bad. They recommend to replace the pump. They don’t use quality pumps so having to replace the pump after 8-10 years is normal.

Great video, I have a ryobi pressure washer that I've had for 4 years and I've tried to take real good care of it... After every use I have ran rv antifreeze through the pump and cycled the unloader to get all the water out. I need to change the pump oil next. It's a shame there is no repair kit for these, New pressure washers look like they use such similar pumps as past units, but they are all pretty much designed to be unserviceable anyways it seems, buy a new $200 pump, or a new pressure washer..... Yay.

i bought one just like yours a few weeks ago. same frame and pump , but different engine . i paid $40 but mine had the gun and hose . yours must be older as mine has a OHV engine that according to the date was made in 99. like many of these a easy carb cleaning brought it back to life. the carb was terribly varnished.
After cleaning it, it started right up and runs great. pump works good ,but has a sticky unloader . its seems to be loosening with use though. changing this type of unloader is a pain. i use it mainly for washing my car and driveway.
after watching your vid i might try changing the oil in the pump. if this pump goes bad i will slap on a higher pressure one.

JungleKing I have the same unit as pictured a Craftsman model 580.768210 5.5 h/p 2000 PSI, bought new. Problem was I took apart carb without pictures. Only saw two linkages to carb, one from bolt holding RPM adjusting lever on intake side with spring and governor link connecting to governor lever off motor. The other from throttle shaft on carburetor to same governor lever off motor Problem I think is on Control Bracket the adjusting knob for Stop-Slow-Fast-Choke, connects to nothing. It onle has the knob touching a metal wire fore the kill switch. I read all comments and know you gave that unit to your father in law. Was wondering if you could verify for me there is only the two linkages, it doesn't make sense to me the control knob slider does not connect to anything but the kill switch, thanks in advance! By the way I have the manual and it shows no other parts then mentioned here.

I did not remove it during this repair but the unloader valve I think is the large brass piece on the left side of the pump housing in my thumbnail. If you can find one it's a simple fix, but it may be necessary to just replace the whole pump. I messaged the guy that I only needed 6. ( I wasn't sure how I was going to configure them) so, I told him 6 instead of 3. I offered him $1 each plus an extra $1 for mailing. For a total of $7 for 6 of them shipped. He got back to me and said they were all pre packaged and it would be too much of a hassle re-package them, separate mailing ect. So, he lowered the price to $10 with free shipping. Pretty good discount I must say. I think he has a lot of these spacers. But if for some reason he is out, or no longer has them, let me know and you are welcome to have what I have left over. That will be either 19 or 22 of them depending on how I use them.
