I honestly wished this man did every "DIY" video on UA-cam.! I appreciate the thoroughness and knowledge that this gentleman shared. It was very informative and detailed. I thank you for that sir. But more importantly Im appreciative of his proper use of our english vocabulary. Because lords that some of these "UA-camrs" need it bad. Thank you once again.

This is an incredible video ... Every detail clearly outlined, with advice along the way including proper lubricants to use with clarification of why the portions of the disassembly and reassembly is being performed.
I have this power washer and already had replaced the loader valve, but did so without the pump removal. I found getting the valve out easiest by simply giving the pump a crank after removing the housing holding it in place. It pops out after pulling the cord once our twice.
My problem right now is that the detergent suction doesn't work. I'm going tio carefully take it apart, and inspect the o-ring, spring, gaskets and check valve. I think possibly only lubrication and cleaning is needed ... But if that doesn't do it, I'll order the kit.
Awesome video! Thank you for your time and expertise! Rick

Great Video. I have been using my Karcher pressure washer for 4 years by having to disconnect the nozzle and then putting it back on to build pressure. I had no idea this was / is an issue. I have already ordered the new part along with a couple of O-rings for the wand assembly and a new water filter.Ya gotta love You Tube.Cheers

Thank you for posting this video, I had a problem with my pressure washer pump, I cleaned all of my valves, but did not know that the "re-loader valve" was a part that commonly fails, so I will inspect and replace that, if needed, ASAP. Also, thanks for mentioning what parts of the re-loader valve to and not to grease!

    Hi There,
I have the same problem with my karcher pressure washer. I am so impressed with your plain and simple explanation on your video. Even if I take it to a repairman now I know what the problem is and what sort of repair they are talking of. I am thankful to you for giving an excellent step by step illustration of solving the problem with my washer. I am going to try it as I enjoy doing this sort of job. Keep on doing your good educational services. Well done.

This was great info. I bought a Karcher at a yard sale for $20. When I powered it up, I discovered that the pressure was very low. So I put it in my shed and basically forgot about it. That was 7 or 8 years ago. Last week, I followed the instructions in this video and now have a perfectly working washer. All for 20 bucks!

    Mark,
I started to pull my Sears washer apart and oil came out. I came in the house to find a UA-cam video but my internet was down. I got my internet problem fixed today and watched both Pt1 & pt2. Thanks for posting your repair procedure. I'll have to look at the parts breakdown to see where my unloader is. I did buy an o-ring kit as water was leaking out the housing but I've had intermittant pressure problems with my unit until it just about quit like your video, thanks again/Mike

Well done. I am having a different issue however, found both tutorials extremely helpful as my Karcher G 2600VH has the exact same pump on it. Wish I knew about the oil before I loosened the four (4) bolts. My pump mounts vertically vice horizontally as shown in the video. Will know for next time when I go to disassemble the pump. Keep up the great work.

Outstanding video tutorial. Exactly what I needed to fix my problem.
I have two comments that may help out other viewers. I could not for the life of me get the unloader valve out of the housing with needle nose pliers or even needle nose vise grips. It just would NOT pull out. There is a much easier way to get it out.
HOW TO REMOVE A STUBBORN UNLOADER VALVE:
Before removing the pump from the engine, unscrew and remove the white plastic housing from above the unloader valve. Lay a towel over the opening of the unloader valve. With the garden hose hooked up to the pressure washer, turn on the water. Start the engine. The water pressure will blow the unloader valve out of the its housing. The towel is there to stop the unloader valve from flying up and slamming into the cart frame. It works like a champ and will save you hours of cursing your needle nose pliers like I did.
WHAT TYPE OF OIL TO USE IN THE PUMP
The video does not mention what type of oil to use. My pressure washer is the same model as the one in the video: Karcher K2400HH. It uses Karcher 15W40 (Part # 6.288-050.0) but you can use any Non-Detergent Non-foaming 15w40 Pump Oil.
I hope this helps others. Again, outstanding job on the video.

@dougostey The primary part that was replaced was the Unloader valve. It is what was causing the no pressure condition. Occasionally you will need to replace some of the other o-rings. The valves can become pitted and need replacing but that is very rare. As a general rule when rebuilding a pump with a no pressure condition like the one shown you will need a new unloader valve, some Teflon and silicon grease and some 30wt non-detergent oil for the pump.
    Thanks for watching!

The demonstration was well done. It probably will save me a lot of money. There were two items I did catch you talk about. One is the gaskets that go between the major component as they go back together. The second is; what type of oil to use? Does the pump require a specific oil like the air compressors?
