    I definitely saw movement in the tie rods where they attach to the Pitman arm near the beginning of the video.

    Hey Rich, I have a 61 beetle. This video was very helpful. My entire front end is new, narrowed beam, disc brakes, tie rods, steering box , alignment is good but when I make a tight turn my steering wheel doesn’t return to center and straight. I also have changed the coupler on the steering shaft. What else should I adjust or look at ?

      Have you checked the caster.

    How much of a dead spot does your steering wheel have Rich? My '68 has roughly an inch, maybe a touch more, that I wouldn't mind tightening up a bit, but I don't know what's normal for these old Beetles.

      There is not much on my 56.When you drive it down the road you do not have to keep correcting with the steering wheel.

    Hey I have a question on my saturn sl1, the temp gauge never seems to get to the right temperature, I replaced the thermostat and coolant temp sensor but it didn't seem to do anything different, just wondering if you have any tips

    • @RichpinTv
      @RichpinTv  4 роки тому

      You can not rely on the temp gauge for a actual temp you need to put a scan tool on it to see what the temp is.

    • @adventureoflinkmk2
      @adventureoflinkmk2 4 роки тому

      What year sl1? Because all the obd2 Saturns also used a one wire sensor meant exclusively for the gauge. It was the obd2 era when ects controlled everything, even the gauge

    • @kam.p5256
      @kam.p5256 4 роки тому +1

      @@adventureoflinkmk2 it's a 2001 so it only has the one temp sensor

      @adventureoflinkmk2 4 роки тому

      @@kam.p5256 okay, then I would test the temp with a scanner like Richpin said, also use a meat thermometer in the coolant to make sure it's at the correct temperature. If it is then your temp gauge may be faulty

    Good evening sir, I have an important question pertaining to a 97 Saturn sl2. #1 my vehicle vibrates very roughly it actually makes my doors rumble. #2 when I go in reverse my car wants to stall out but vibrates extremely bad while in the process. #3 as I drive up hill a bit it seems to start sputtering at around 45 to 50 mph and feels like stalling out. #4 when I make a turn inside a cul-de-sac my front wheels seem to skip it seems . I don't mean to interrupt your day but after seeing many different channels you seem to know your stuff. If you can give me some insight as to how to fix my problems I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT thank you for your time enjoy the rest of the day.
