I absolutely love Echoes of Eternity. I did something very similar to this in a paper game of commander but had 2 mirage mirrors and echoes dropped the fleshraker and was like oh this is real bad 😂
Haha. Very cool! I had the same idea to make something in arena as close as possible to my paper deck and learn Ulalek cause hes so complicated and I'm a very new player. Don't think I have enough cards in Arena to make it work though. Would actually love to see more Ulalek stuff. It's very infirmative.
I have a question, If ulalek is on the battlefield with echoes, when you cast a creature spell, it cast twice because of echoes. When echoes trigger, does it activate ulalek trigger without paying 2? Or u need to pay 2? When it active, you create another ulalek and can you activate the new ulalek trigger by paying 2 (with the second ulalek created). I don't understant how does it work and what spells does ulalek copy when he trigger. Is it all the spells on your btf or all the spells on the stack?
@fredericsavoie7238 echoes only copy the cast of the original, and when echoes copies an ability, you still need to pay costs in order to get the copies effect. Ulalek copies the entire stack when a colorless creature spell is cast and put on the stack, where as Echoes copies colorless SPELLS on cast and all doubles all colorless abilities of permanants on the battlefield.
I'm relatively new to Magic and am a complete Dodo when it comes to the stack. Could you please help to explain to me how exactly did casting Fleshraker generate 2 Ulalek's and 1 Echoes of Eternity on the stack initially? I'm mostly confused how the game triggered 2 Ulaleks right at the get go.
@iburnandfume Echoes of Eternity in and of itself copies all colorless spells, and because Ulalek is Devoid, it is colorless regardless of the colored mana pips in its casting cost. Even mana rocks get copied because of Echoes ability. When the opponent targeted my Ulamog, it triggered the ward ability twice, because that is Echoes other ability. So with Echoes we get to copy colorless spells, AND double any triggers from colorless sources. When you cast a colorless spell with both Ulalek and Echoes on the field, you get 2 Ulalek triggers, which once you activate the first of Ulalek's triggers, it copies all other abilities on the stack. Because multiple triggers going onto the stack allows you to choose in which order they resolve, you can then move Ulalek's ability around to get the desired result, whether you are trying to get more spawns, copy cast abilities of Eldrazi, or to go infinite.
@@iburnandfume my first response didn't really give you the exact answer you were looking for I just realized, so here is that answer! The 2 Ulalaek triggers are from the doubling ability effect from Echoes that get triggered when an Eldrazi spell is cast with Ulalek on the field, and the Echoes trigger is the copy of the Fleshraker that Echoes gives me upon casting a colorless spell.
@@Pauls2theWall hey! Thank you so much, that actually makes sense. I always assumed that unless I pay the mana, the ulalek triggers won't appear yet on the stack. Now it makes more sense! Still confused tbh but less so than before! lol
My screen is shattered RN so I can't see super well...are you using flash enablers? Without the flash enablers you can only copy the eldrazi spell, not the whole stack, right? With everything going on there I'm assuming there was a flash enabler out. Velkadyn orrery or something?
@@Saphire_Throated_Carpenter_AntUlalek copies the entire stack when he triggers off a cast of any eldrazi spell. in my paper version of the deck, tons of flash enablers, but in this brawl deck, you just need one "ability doubler" to double Ulalek, then the first copy effect copies the second trigger, so each time you pay for ulalek's ability, there is a second one in the stack getting copied. You can only get as many triggers as mana you have, but its exponential growth because the entire stack doubles each time ulalek's ability resolves.
@@Pauls2theWall oh ok thank you. It CAN be if you can get "create 2 eldrazi spawn tokens" into the stack, and then copy it to pay for future ulalek triggers on that same stack. You occasionally need to move ulaleks trigger to happen AFTER a 2 eldrazi spawn trigger to pay for the next ulalek trigger. Also works with Spawn-gang Commander, and that card gets 3 eldrazi spawn on cast. I usually end up breaking arena trying to get that card to go "infinite"
After you get the Fleshrakers out, they will trigger create a spawn (for each fleshraker) when a colorless creature ETB's; so even if they don't go infinite, the next colorless creature ETB you get SHOULD make it infinite with ability doublers (Echoes of Eternity, Roaming Throne, Annie Joins Up) for Ulalek as long as you can get spawns creation triggers on the stack and cast an eldrazi spell.
