    Really good work, thank you.
    A little tip for your future modelling adventures: with you can repeat the last operation. Instead of pushing then then then five times, you do it once and then you hold and push 4 times.

    To get the equations to work in SW, you need to change the "u" in the formula to "t" and depending on design parameters setting T2 sometimes has to be slightly less than 1 to enable offset to work ... thanks again !!

      I was so confused to get it right in sw . I even tried removing extra spaces and replace u with t but setting parameters a bit less may work

      What about units? Grad or rad... MM or inch?

      On inventor use this formula:
      Cycloide Formula
      ====================
      N = Reduction Ratio (dientes)
      e = Excentric Radius (E>> (D*cos(t))-(Rr*cos(t+atan(sin((1-N)*t)/((D/(e*N))-cos((1-N)*t)))))-(e*cos(N*t))
      Y>>> (-D*sin(t))+(Rr*sin(t+atan(sin((1-N)*t)/((D/(e*N))-cos((1-N)*t)))))+(e*sin(N*t))

    Awesome video. Thanks!
    Understood that the radius of the radial holes and their offset from center of the cycloidal disk is arbitrary.
    But what about the diameter of the output pins that fit within the radial holes in the cycloidal disk? What about the distance of these output pins from the center?

    Hi, thank you for the helpful video, how are the number of holes on the disk calculated? Isn't there a relation between the hole diameter and the stress on the disk? What if someone decides to build a gear with a different reducing ratio, how can the arbitrary dimensions be chosen?

    Petar Karabadjakov Thanks for this tutorial. I'm brand new to Blender and this is my first project. I'm using a brand new default installation of Blender 2.90.1. Some of the layout and the hotkeys appear to be different from those used in this tutorial. I managed to do everything up to 4:18 but I can't find the "user preferencese" in file. . Any suggestions? Thanks.

    От винта! :) Thanks! Could you explain how did you choose the sizes of inner circular holes comparing to the size of disk?

    Thanks for this tutorial. I'm brand new to Blender and this is my first project. I'm using a brand new default installation of Blender 2.83. Some of the layout and the hotkeys appear to be different from those used in this tutorial. I managed to do everything up to 4:18 but I can't find the "remove doubles" button mentioned at that point. I tried skipping that part but I also don't get a new face added when I press 'f' as mentioned at 4:29, so I can't get beyond that point. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Thank you for a fantastic tutorial. Can I generate on BLENDER x y coordinates at defined resolution?I would like to use it on CNC mill to machine cycloid rotor.

      In Blender you work with meshes (vertices, edges, and faces.) You can make your mesh as detailed as necessary via the subdivision surface modifier and other means.

    Thanks !! I am keen to make a reducer but would be lost without the calculator !!

    How do you determine the pin and ring diameters , I mean what are the formulas you used for this

    hello, thank you for this nice work it looks so fine
    can this totoarial used in solidworks to? it looks all so easy what are you doing here. how can the holes in the disk be changed great will it be in you calculator
    thank you

      If SolidWorks has the ability to define curves with parametric equations then you should be able to use this approach with SW as well. I am not familiar with this product enough to assist.

    Any reason the Array Modifier wasn't used?

    • @OTVinta3d
      @OTVinta3d  8 років тому

      There are only 12 pins, it's faster to copy them by hand than involve a modifier. But the array modifier could be used too, of course.

      you could also just use the "Spin" Button and make sure "Dupli" is checked. Just enter 6, and 360. It would take less than half the time

    I doubt that any one will ever make anything useful using this tutorial.
    This blender will be good only for burning motors :)
    On a second thought.... IT WILL BE GREAT SHAKER :)))))))))))))))
