I did it! I did have some trouble in that the little thing that controls the speed of the glovebox came apart. I managed to put it back together but I am not sure it is in right. We shall see.
That looks pretty simple why can't they make changing your heater core that simple...lol I like the picture of the car next to the lift to change a cabin filter..nice
FOOD FOR THOUGHT; If you ignore your age, your age will ignore you. ANYWAYS, your tutorial on how to replace the Cabin Air Filter for the 2006 Sonata is better than most other videos.
No but it could restrict the amount of airflow though. The air would still be cold if The AC system is still working just not as much air it’s a filter is dirty.
How to Automotive but is it possible to remove the tray so I can replace the filter without those black pinch tabs? Is there another trick to popping it out?
ced labonte there recommend it in your regular maintenance. At least want to change it once a year minimum. It's just to prevent dust and dirt blowing through the vents and blowing into your face
Happened to me as well. Just us a plier to pull on the plastic housing. With a screw driver pry the two pegs on each side while pulling on the plier. There’s small holes on the side of the pegs. A little muscle and it comes right out.
Thanks. thought the holder was part of the filter too. nice job.
Thank you!
Very detailed video. Thanks, you helped me a lot!
Glad to help. Thanks for watching!

could a dirty air filter cause the air conditioner to stop blowing cold air.

What if the black tabs on the filter case are all broken off?
CrashHell you should be able to get the cover from or local dealer.

How to Automotive how were you able to get the tray out with that other missing tab piece?
CrashHell I used a small pocket screwdriver to pick the cover off.

Where is the cabin filter for a 2006 Chevy truck located at
I note you did not show how you removed the air filter. NOT AS EASY AS YOU SUGGEST,
Today I learned that the last idiot to own my car snapped off the cabinet air filter pegs 😭 can't get enough pressure to pull it off. Kill me
The exact same thing happened to me, how did you get it fixed ?
