This unfortunate Electrical Engineer does not sound like an unhappy alcoholic, coupled with a poor diet lacking in thiamine which is how current MD's perceive such individuals. A Neuropsychologist, analyst, etc. could have inquired about his earliest memories and whether there was family dysfunction. This would be the likely starting point for such a patient. Sadly, science seems to be decades away from acceptance of neuro-anything other than neurology. I can only applaud Dr. Solms for his tenaciousness educational efforts. My personal life experiences strongly support his work.
Dr. Sacco, What's your take on Gerald Edelman's technical work? (To me, he seems a very deep and important thinker who is unjustly depreciated and overlooked.)
Does anyone know if Solms has written about the distinction between transference neuroses, narcissistic neuroses and psychoses he outlines in this video?
