    Just as an FYI the ACMOC club is investigating producing these, but to squatch’s point there are lots of variations of them. We do know there is demand for them and we have acquired some original drawings from Cat as we continue the process of producing them to make them as accurate as possible. Thanks

      Hopefully it happens. I know my 1956 D4 7U is in dire need of some undercarriage work. Even just using one of these gauges as a quick reference guide, is better than nothing. Especially with the current costs of everything.

    As far as a D2 tool goes, you could photocopy the one you have and people could use it to fashion their own version out of wood, metal, or even cardboard. I'd think someone who needed one would be willing to pay $10 or $20 for your trouble.

    • @kevinjohnson5214
      @kevinjohnson5214 2 роки тому

      It seems to be that way with motorcycle chains ,don't take a link out when you're at the end of adjustment, replace the chain and reverse the sprockets direction if possible you can get good mileage out of each if you do take a link out reverse chain direction in a pinch. But a worn chain can eat the sprockets pretty quickly....

      @@squatch253 if you had a junker you could take it and use a cutoff wheel length-wise on it and then section it where it goes from solid to hollow. probably used a tubing and stubs then OD ground the whole thing once it was welded fully giving the illusion of it being one piece and saving a little weight without sacrificing strength. I do know that the shaft is like 3" OD. The monkeys run the asylum in my head as well. LOL

    Should be really easy to create a 3D model and run on a 3d printer. Just take a pic from above, have the x/y dimensions and use the picture to model conversion tool and then select a practical thickness. Are doable even in simple tools such as tinkercad iircc.

    • @ducewags
