- I hope y'all are drooling by the end of this video... it was AWESOME!! I really enjoy doing these kinds of cooking adventures for groups of family and friends! Especially when I can showcase the "contraption" that dad and I created several years ago.
This video is also a tribute to Dad and his ingenuity and enjoyment of family get togethers. For all family and friends, I ask that you please forward this video link to others in our family. For instance, my kids haven't seen him in years and years, and grandkids... some have never seen him. So I hope y'all enjoy this. If anyone wants me to do a pig roast for you... better hurry before I move to Alaska... lol.

Kanai Told me to subscribe. I can't eat so well for the next six weeks so did not drool almost did not watch. had to for your amazing dad. Great grill and smoker wow. Brought back great memories. Thanks for sharing. Loved it.
Loved the smoker! Man that pig looked good coming off! All those hands shredding pork together! Awesome Bill!
Thanks Sean!! Yeah, they all decided to pitch in and help with the "pig pickin'" because they were getting hungry and I was too slow... lol!! It's definitely an "interesting" contraption/machine... truly multi-purpose... I don't know, can you buy pigs like that up there??? I figure it would be very difficult to put salmon on that spit... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and caribou and moose would be too big... although you could definitely smoke steaks and roasts on it! Tim (the big guy) suggested putting about 6 chickens on it at a time and cooking them that way... I'd have to think about that, and maybe figure out how to put a 2nd spit in there, with extra pulley so the motor could turn 2 spits and do a dozen or so chickens at a time. Then shred the chicken meat and can it. Put some BBQ sauce in some of it so that you've got a fast and easy BBQ chicken sandwich whenever you want... and use the other chicken for chicken salad, in salads, with quesadillas/tacos/burritos/etc; ... LOL!!!
Congrats to you and Dad for the construct of a fine piece of machinery! Love the history behind this effort. Reminds me of how they roast pigs back home. Thanks for sharing with us!
It's setting about 5 hours away from you... if you want to get with Jim and a bunch of family friends, I can do one for you too... something to think about... lol
Have you ever heard of a Chinese box.
Yes sir. One version is called something like La Caha China, something like that..
@@thelonemoose4718 They are very simple; pig goes in fire on top. Very easy just add charcoal as need to the top tray.
@@tedsemonis7905 Very true Ted. However, that wasn't what dad wanted... lol!! He's a tinkerer and hobby welder and wanted a machine like that... so that's what we built.
@@thelonemoose4718 Dad get what dad wants. Just another way that you can cook a pig. That box fit in the truck, Smoker might if you had a crane.
@@tedsemonis7905 LOL... YEP!!! If I wanted to move it without towing it, I'd have to put it on my big trailer... which is sort of counterproductive... using a trailer to carry a trailer??? lol...
Was the skin crispy?
Yes, very!!
Oh Man that looks like a great "contraption" and that little Piggie looked cooked to perfection. LOL I am going to say the same thing that I get most of the time. Did you build this or did you make it yourself and if so where can I buy one? I mean no disrespect with that comment at all. LOL I just want one of these PITS! Have you ever tried Roasting a Moose on this?
No sir... lol! That contraption has not been anywhere near a Moose. I am.planning on taking it up to Alaska after dad passes... so maybe one day I'll be able to do some Moose on it... maybe smoke some Moose brisket or ribs??? Or put a Moose standing rib roast on the spit???
Ok I was looking for 454 scull info just watched your video from two years ago. What is your thoughts on shoots now to be safe just wondering?
