Painting WOOD - Digital Art for Beginners

We start our wood series with how to paint wood texture. Painting wood in photoshop, procreate, clip studio, etc... all follows the same basic rules in terms of it's texture so the only difference is slight variations in the tools. Our goal here is to digitally paint wood texture and go over the basic colors of painting wood, as well as it's behavior.
After this painting wood texture tutorial, next we'll start painting more complex designs and items made of wood, like tree stumps, wooden shields, fantasy lamps, treasure chests, and many many more.

The plan is to make these texture tutorials then slowly work everyone up to more and more complex things, like houses, full suites of armor, etc... and now that I'm able to commit more of my time into the project hopefully these free tutorials will be able to at least help people who can't afford art school :)
