I really think you ought to be able to sell the hides on the predators. IRL, that would be the most value you would get out of them, and there is no way you would just take the meat from a wolf and leave a perfectly good, sellable hide. For that matter, you should also be able to sell the hides of the other animals, it would just not be worth a lot since it is essentially only good for leather.
In real life 300 win mag is a great moose round so it's not surprising he didn't go far. I was surprised when you thought it would be like the .243 is to deer lol.
@@adr1198 It's definitely suffice for moose, I mean it can kill a grizzly, Kodiak brown bear, and I'm sure some dangerous game in Africa. At first I didn't/couldn't check there is a tier 6 for moose and bears and whatnot so with my pro hunter 2 I had to pearce skull and each lung separately to kill a damn black bear. I thought it was just hard to kill because it is a bear 😂
It was mentioned on the discord that you should be able to do those missions at the other lodges/cabins and it will give you access instead of buying the passes. Might be something worth keeping in mind for a future video so people don't think they have to buy their way through the map.
I like the deers reaction once shot but the others fleeing are missing one big detail unless I just missed it and that is their tail should be up in the the air when fleeing
Dude, nice shot on that 5 star duck. You smoked him. I love listening to your videos. I've been loving the videos. I'm excited to see what this game brings.
For future reference moose generally live near wetlands, hence their nickname "swamp donkey" so if you can see a wetland or swamp on the map it's likely there will be moose nearby.
Awesome video! I have done quite a bit of moose hunting, and the moose reaction of getting shot was perfectly realistic, amazing! they just go sluggish and head down an running. I havent seen big animals yet being shot and dropping in its tracks yet, but if an when it ever does happen, I hope they just topple over and the legs go straight up, just like we've seen in all those outdoor hunting shows
@@Flintergaming sure no worries ahah, it would be bad to hit such a Big animal wrong so it was probably better for you to focus on hitting it right instead of how it reacted Ahaha, much love!
moose and elk tend to not jump or kick at shots, if anything they hunch their back a bit. you either drop them or they tank the bullet like a champ and keep going for a bit.
If you thought the .300 was powerful,I once killed a moose where it stood with the .338 at about 300 or 400 yards,Aroubd where you were,But another quadrant more northerly
Well, I would say the moose dropping because of the double lungs is pretty accurate or at least going a few steps and dropping. That’s pretty accurate, I’m a moose hunter and even with one lung hit moose tend to go a few steps and tip over.
And especially with the 300. It’s super powerful, my dad had one 300. but he said it was too powerful. So I think the game is pretty realistic, well it is because of all the small amazing details.
@@DYNER0 It's so damn cool that it's accurate. I was initially like "wait what", but interesting to know from a real hunter that it's the case in real life too!
I love sharpshooting grounded duck and pheasant with clean kills from the bolt action .22LR and the 14x scope. Lose zero meat usually, sometimes .01kg, and can hit em as close as 13m or, I think Ive been about 40m out for a few. Could likely go farther. Been running around with that bolt action .22 and just bought the .338 to try on the big boys.
.300 Win-Mag is an excellent cartridge for moose IRL, more than powerful enough. I think the second moose had a weird hit animation due to the slope, as slopes seem to mess with the animations based on what I am seeing in your videos.
One thing that always got on my nerves about COTW was how the ground side of the antlers disappears and was not visible. Looks to be the same in this game. Hope they can fix that. Would really make the portraits better.
Yeah, like how difficult is that? After all the rest of the body is "solid". In this game the trees and bushes aren't even physical object for the most part so it shouldn't have to do with antlers getting stuck or something lol. I really hope they plan to add vegetation affecting the gameplay itself such as branched snapping or making noise as you pass through them too fast. Hell, even dry branches on the ground you can snap if nor careful. So much potential.
OOOOOooow I like that you can put an extra shell in the chamber. So 4 in mag with 1 chambered it’s a nice touch. A lot of shot guns are like that in real life
I think the lodge needs some lights aimed at some of the mounting locations. It is just so dark to appreciate the trophies. Maybe something that "gets added" after you mount an animal. Maybe option to turn it on or off as you please. By the way, Flinter, One showcase video from you and I immediately went to buy this game (elite version). It sounds so much better in the hunting sense than Hunter: CotW.
The expansion on the .300 is pretty huge on the moose, remembering that .300 has a ton of energy and it's dumping it all into that engine room, I hunt with a .300 win mag and it's a monster for wild cattle even so I imagine a moose wouldn't fair much better
Fingers crossed they worked on the sound too 🤞🏻 not the worst gun shot I've ever heard, but they all kinda sound the same and just average. It'd be neat if the tweaked that upon release too. I want the boom to go with the recoil on that .300 lol
.243 and .223 look about right, even 30-30 looks about right.. 300 not so much. There is a lot of force in that rifle and that needs displayed with a nice loud concussive blast...
IRL a .300 win mag will drop a moose where it stands. Hell a 30-06 with the right grain under the right distance and conditions with good shot placement can take a moose down IRL.
Very good scenery graphics, don't know about the animals, cos in many hours of play, I have hardly ever seen any. Apart from odd one's at a mile distance, and running like mad.
I think if there's something else they should do, make the pheasants and ducks worth around 35-40 credits, deer around 150-200, elk and moose around 500. this will add alot more progression towards earning your firearms and gear which I think would be great
Yeah, I can't believe i got almost all of the equipment in the entire game in two days. Only thing left is the hunting permits which is very clever as otherwise I'd do things like in cotw and just roam the map to see every camp and then not have unknown areas that can spark new interest. This way you get the most of each region as you grind to unlock a new one.
the first moose hit animation is actually fairly realistic. moose will generally just hunch up or sometimes even not react at all. my uncle shot one with a .35whelen once and it just took a couple steps and then fell over. They're kinda 50/50. sometimes they'll take a couple steps, sometimes they'll bolt for the thickest, nastiest swamp they can before they go down
when you shot that grey wolf. your crosshairs were on the neck when you shot but hit lungs. At that distance you maybe would hit the front of the shoulder with him walking. Is this a lag thing on the recording or what?
How did you hide the Objectives in the top left? I deactivated it but the window shows up still saying no active objectives. I hate the extra stuff on my screen lol
Do not under estimate the .300 win mag. It should have no problems killing moose at 400yrds. My 30.06 dropped my first moose at 250 yards irl. I'm not a fan of the shotguns in this game. They just seem really inconsistent and random. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. I've even tried a close range shot at a grounded, stationary bird and fired with no effect. It really feels like half the shotgun shells are blanks.
