The .270 pump is a beast. One of my new favourite guns for sure!! Great video man!
Hey Mel! I agree! The .270 is my new main rifle all the time. It’s my hunting caliber irl, and with the pump action model in game, makes it a fantastic rifle.
Man I'd give anything to have the 1903 in COTW.

Yeah then you can rotate between the 150, 180 and 200. I'm not sure their penetration coding is quite sophisticated enough to see it though. Hell, my controller bumped my knee the other day when I was shooting a mountain goat with the .338 Lapua Magnum. I hit it too far back and it survived. Total bullshit. No matter where you shoot a goat with a .338 Lapua, it will die. That round will literally dismember a goat with even a leg shot. These coding geeks have a LOT to learn about how firearms work and their real life capabilities. You could literally shoot that goat in the ass and blow chunks of his organs out his chest.
I'm disappointed with how inaccurate the Remington 700 long range is. The 308 has a much smaller circle when using the hunter sense to calculate bullet trajectory.
Hopefully they will add Browning rifles & shotguns to Way of the hunter!!

My dad used a 7600 30-06 with the safety flipped to left handed! I had a 7600 7mm-08

Just shot my first 5 star white-tail scoring 500. I used the .270 and dropped him on the spot

I have the Remington 1903 30-06 so of course that is my new main! Thing is a beast
It's got slightly more punch than the 308, but a tad less accurate. If I'm going small game, always take the 3006 though for more flexibility.
i love the m1903, great reloading animation and expansion dmg drops animals so fast, even takes down tier 6 animals.
My Grandpa had a 7600 in each 270 and 30-06 they both were phenomenal rifles.
Try the 30-06 again you need a good double lung shot it drop Whitetail, mule deer, mountain goat,and big horn sheep in their tracks.The 2nd whitetail you shot didn’t run at all it dropped I would recommend trying the 30-06 again it’s for sure better than the 308.
30-06 is the best deer rifle in the game now in my opinion. Being able to drop a 5 star buck with a double lung from 200 meters away feels incredible

I just shoot the ducks with the .338 :) (Oh use hunter sense to check the joules on each rifle at point blank range. I believe when I checked the 30-06 at least had more energy then the 308...I think maybe the .270 did too but I can't remember.)
My papa has a model 660 remington in 350 remington and it's a beast. Nice short rifle and it packs one hell of a punch
Seems like they're using real ballistics.
270 balistically is a more damaging round than 308. It's why people use it for bull elk 🤪

270 is accurate double lung drops them irl everytime in my experience with blacktail deer
Is there any animal in the game currently where the .338 is the perfect caliber to use instead of seeming overpowered?
I'm thinking maybe the bears, but I don't really know guns at all. Just picking things up as I go.
Also how does the .350 compare to the other calibers in power, in real life?
It still kinda confuses me that the .300 is more powerful than the .308 even though the diameter is smaller but I know that there are other factors to look at as well.
The .350 seems a bit redundant to be honest because the .338 hits way harder and has way more power at range. The Magnum calibers have belted cartridges and hold far more powder than the .308. The .308 is pretty useless to be honest. The .30-06 outclasses it in every situation.

Crazy that your using the .350 on moose I use one on whitetail here in Michigan
With 180's and faster powder it's manageable for me, with slower powders and higher velocity it starts to suck quick. I have 250's and haven't had the nuts to try those yet.

270 should have higher energy than 308 just slightly but it’s a much hotter round
Same thing with the 7mm.08, dunno where they get the ballistics from
10% more than .308 should be about right for the 270. 7-08 should be comparable to .308, maybe less expansion?

So many cartridge options... IRL you can take literally everything with 3 cartridges. The 7MM Weatherby Magnum, The .300 or .30-378 Weatherby Magnum and the .460 Weatherby Magnum.

Very disappointed in the remington 700's accuracy when compared to steyr SM12. Whats the point in adding a less accurate rifle, nobody will use it.

I realised the birds flying pattern is weird. In my opinion, they can't make that sharp movements while trying to take of and I believe while flying with speed too. Those are some crazy zig zags. :D

wish they added the model 8 or model 11. I always love using vintage firearms in hunting games as well as real life.
Same. I bought a WW2 Arisaka and bolted a rail on the top. Because of the bolt action I had to put a canted scope on it. The problem is finding the 7.7x58 ammo.
instead of shooting that trophy lvl 4 you got the couple of 1 and 2 stars one unfortunately

Kinda weird that they released remington pack without the most popular remington rounds like 7mm 300rum
The Ultra Mag would have been nice for sure since we have no.300 Weatherby Magnum. The Winchester .300 is still pretty decent but the UM and the Weatherby both smoke it at long range.

Hi flinter I haven’t play the hunter call of the wild in a while and I did a glitch that got me 1 million money and it was a while ago and it also put me on level 60 is there any way to delete or undo these changes
Just been getting into call of the wild but I gotta say I really like the way bullets and penetration and all that works in this game. Seems a lot more realistic. Call of the wild is pretty simplified, and I mean I'm sure this is too as far as there's a lot more that goes into how a bullet impacts an animal than just it's caliber. But this game seems better. 270 is a very nice round, probably my favourite irl, it's very flat shooting fast and a great all around caliber. If I didn't already have call of the wild I think I would have tried this game for that alone. Maybe some day when it's on sale
Love the videos but I gotta ask, what's with the we stuff? As far as I know shooting a virtual rifle isn't a team sport. The other hunting game youtube folks do it too, I assume it's to exploit the whole parasocial thing for weirdos who don't go outside for clicks but it's no less strange every time I hear it.

It could also be that it’s easier to talk to a camera trying to include who’d be watching than to talk naturally and referring only to himself the whole time.

I’ve been trying to get a diamond reindeer so far I’ve shot somewhere around a thousand and have gotten 11 troll lvl 5s with no diamond. Medved is one of may favorite looking maps tho.

I still prefer COTW more due to more species...and the fact I can actually play that on PS4... but I gotta admit I love the lodge system in Way. I do wish COTW had map-specific lodges like way does (I know there's technically something similar in Parque) but you know what I mean
COTW is ass, but I get it why you like it more because of being on PS4. I liked COTW a lot but WOTH is miles ahead when it comes to gameplay and graphics

Another dev team that thinks adding new skins or weapons is appropriate when the main game is ripe is issues,
Even the multiplayer doesn't work properly 80% of the time.
This game was blatantly missold to us all as a finished product..
It isn't.. I've seen early access title wity less issues than this game
