Because as many things that it got right, it got a number of things wrong as well. Showing certain characters surviving the pogrom that didn't survive in real life (Sylvester Carrier, for example), having a fictional Old West-style gunslinger as the main character who saves several people (who, again, didn't survive in real life) and who pulls himself up a rope while he's being lynched when only one person in American history has ever been known to survive being lynched (James Cameron), and the post-credits text claiming an exaggerated death toll with no evidence to back it up (even survivors' testimonies only went as high as 27 dead).

6:08 for the love of god just say capitalism already. People are always trying to talk around the fact that their heroes like Fred Hampton and MLK were actually opposed to capitalism. The Young Lords and Young Patriots were also anti-capitalist and they built their solidarity around the fact that they were all being abused by capitalism. It doesn't matter where you are on the political spectrum, that is what these people believed and the idea was central to their beliefs. Leaving that out is a distortion.

Vanity Fair you need to advertise this better, people need to know about this. The views are sad compared to your other videos.

that was hard to watch as a white man not living in the us .specially the last scene that should not happen in modern society to anyone and that this is almost a daily event sickens me and if you or your family has been the victim of police brutalty my heart goes out you im not gonna say i understnad cuz i dont and i never will. That being said the issue here is we should do more training and better screening before we give someone that much power being a police oficer is rly a hard job and comes with much responsibility and we should treat it as such now dont. and the seccond issue is as long as we keep classing ourself by race we will never se equality we need to start seeing our self as humans not white, black, hispanic or asian we are alll humans and should treat each other with the same respect as we would want to be treated until that happens we will never get equality. SHOW COMPASION NOT HATE
