Fitbit Versa 2 First Impressions

- Fitbit Versa 2 ads Spotify, Alexa, and more coaching. We break down what's new with Fitbit this fall.
CORRECTION: While we thought the Spotify app on the Fitbit Versa 2 allowed on-watch music downloads, it turns out the app only allows remote playback from the phone app. Which makes it a far less interesting feature. We wanted to make the correction clear for any potential buyer.

Can you download Spotify songs to the Fitbit ? (like you can with the Pandora app?)
@syazh1 just realized I wrote "phone" instead of "Fitbit" (edited now). It would be great to at least download Spotify music to the device. Pandora is cool but Spotify has a gargantuan library of songs.
Yeah it’s also only on that watch which is kinda stupid now I wanna sell my watch and buy a apple one for a 100 dollars more
Fitbit premium should be free and should be a feature that comes with the device. It might bring in more people as well
People need to understand this isn’t apple. Fitbits about fitness. The ONLY thing I see wrong here is no gps. For me, this is like an Apple Watch for a way cheaper price, and I can wear at night to track my sleep. This is perfect for people like me who want a good smart watch for a pretty reasonable price. I find this product pretty great.
I just got Versa and I love it. Versa 2 has not enough new things to ditch my current one. Still no GPS, only connected GPS.
Izabela Maria that was a turn off when I heard there was no gps
Thanks for the helpful video. Can you put your own music in this phone (without paying any fees)?
Do they add all the new software features to the original Versa via the software update?
Will this available to Fitbit Versa ? I have very first model. Before of versa lite
Can you have a comparison between Apple Watch 5 and fitbit versa -2 Pls ?
Have they fixed the counting steps while driving...
Have a Versa with my P2XL and does all that I need (sleep, steps, heart. im a runner so Garmin for 15 years) No need at this point to upgrade. Seems to be nice choice for folks new to Versa.
I just preordered the special edition and I'll tell you why 1. Works really well with android (unlike Amazfit bip) 2. Better app than Samsung (terrible 2 app system to run the watch). 3. Has sleep tracking and is much cheaper than Apple. People forget this is a fitness band first and watch second. If you want to track your health this is the best out there right now.
So is this compatible or a better version of the Alta HR? I love that it tracks my sleep and heart rate aside to other features.
when you say a feature "will be added in the coming months" , will it be provided via software upgrade to the people who purchase the versa 2 now or not ?
Is the sleep score available in uk? I have a charge 2 but i dont have it.
Wow, can't wait to order my Versa2! This is great!
Still rocking with my regular versa
Hi there! Great video and great channel!
Could you do a video with ideas about what to do with all that data that we're collecting with our smart watches and how to use the data to improve our health, workouts, food intake, sleep and etc?
Because we're generating a lot of data everyday, and if we don't take any advantage over them, they are useless.
I am still hoping for a good update to the ionic otherwise I think I’m switching to the next Apple Watch.
This is gonna make my Fitbit Versa obsolete now.
Mine too. Is the Spotify integration versa 2 only?
Oh Man! I just got the Fitbit Versa this January! If Apple takes the features from the Versa and pus them in the apple watch this year, I might just switch to the Apple Watch but with Fitbit's new features, I kind of want to stay with Fitbit.
I dont think it's a big enough to jump
@@TheAppleProfessional725 The apple watch is not a fitness watch. It is simply a smartwatch like the samsung gears. They have heart rate tracking and fitness capabilities but they are not as accurate and do not track 24/7 like fitbits.
@@simbasgroerbruder1182 no
Should I get this or the ionic?
This looks like a home run! Good job fitbit!
Can you check for phone calls and send receive texts?
The screen look ok on the video, I currently have the versa 1, I did have some problems with it . It like to turn itself off randomly during some workouts, and the heart rate tracker stops randomly too
I still have my Fitbit charge and I absolutely love it but I feel this one would be way better the apple watch doesn't seem for fitness and I workout 2 hours a day and monitor my heart so I'm totally getting this one.
I gave up on the Versa, I had two of them flake out on me. I bought the Galaxy Watch 46mm...love it!
I had the Galaxy but it it stinks, so I bought the ionic and it's great..Never going back to the galaxy garbage.
Fitbit is literally for fitness, it’s not an Apple Watch. Chill.
Apple stinks. Need to charge the battery everyday.
If it's just for fitness then the charge series are literally perfect. This is just a sad imitation of a luxury smart watch for 200+
@@CodeOni Nah, the Apple Watch is really bad! 😮😀
Is the watch salt water proof
Please respond im thinking of getting one
Monthly service is a big no.
Also, the sleep tracking is so inconsistent with my existing Versa.
Band setup like Blaze would be amazing than the clumsy pin setup now and seems to be coming in for V2 as well.
I would love to see some new models for Ionic come out.
Can you please compare the ticwatch e and Fitbit versa 2 and see which one is better
a stupid question but how do you listen to the spotify- are there ear pods for Samsung I don't know about? if so , man im so behind all this
The still are really behind in supporting newer phones. Without newer phones supported, u can't connect the watch to your phone app, which means an automatic no buy for a lot of people.
Is the Fitbit versa 2 screen the same size as the org Fitbit versa?
Will the versa 2 clockfaces be available for the origional versa
still has no GPs feature ...you still need to bring ur phone if u want to go running and track ur distance
If I have a Fitbit Charge 3, should I upgrade?
So the strap still isn’t magnetic??? Like, that was the main thing that frustrated me the most with my Fitbit Versa. I broke my nails many times trying to change straps. Even bent the metal bar trying to get it out as well. I might get the Apple Watch next year because that irritated me the most.... other from it braking down on me
Well it seems like they have added some very useful things but the one thing they haven’t changed is the difficulty in changing the bands. I don’t think I would upgrade just because of this problem. Thanks
Does it display pictures for eg if someone sent you an image on WhatsApp etc??
Ionic 2, I'm ready for it!
Can you please review the Amazfit GTS which was announced yesterday?
As soon as I found OF the Versa 2, I called for a refund for my Fibit Versa that arrived at my home 2 hours ago. SMH.
You know that's exactly what happened to me. Tho this is my 4th normal lame Versa and I just got home with it and saw the Versa 2 in news. Fml.
Return it then if you haven't opened it
Get a amazefit and cancel versa 2 coz it doesn't have gps and battery isn't great
So can I listen to music on Spotify offline?
FITBIT Versa 2, is the best smartwatch in the market for fitness and workouts.
Doesnit count calories properly?
Any issue to pair with iPhone please . Thanks
false on the charger, this is a little bit thicker than the Versa Lite
And so many people are clamoring for Alexa on their wrist. It is basically the same as the Versa with a better screen and faster and still no GPS. Heart rate sensor still looks the same and they haven't turned on the red light sensor. I don't see any reason to upgrade if you already have one. The whole subscription model bandwagon is ridiculous. Their workout coach is clunky to use as it is only on the watch and you have to constantly look at it so I never use it. So not very exciting announcements. I want to see what they will do for the Ionic.
Thats why garmin is still my choice
I agree. If they made loading onboard music easier maybe I’d upgrade. I don’t like talking to computers so Alexa is irrelevant to me.
@@QuanNguyen-jz8pt Considering switching to garmin but fitbit works so much better with my health plan since the active minutes transfer over. But this no GPS thing is really silly, thought for sure they'd just do it on this one.
Fitbit should have just made a new Pebble.
Exactly!
Totally Agree
I know I was so excited before Fitbit bought them. Fitbit is 🗑
yeah! i still use my pebble.
Pebble was so much better than all these watches.😑
I'm still rocking a Pebble Time. If this had a Google Assistant option and Google Play Music then I think I would finally upgrade. Oh well...
My Versa 2 Alexa doesn’t respond properly I ask a question and it says ask me anything or sometimes is will say this is how to make a grocery list if it say add xyz to my shopping list. What is wrong with it?
Do you find that there's any connectivity issues? I had so many issues with my former Versa lite, turning on and off my bluetooth, factory resetting and still waiting for it to connect to my phone/fitbit app for hours on end with no success...
Jeez! Just curious, what kind of phone do you have?
My Fitbits always lasted maaaybe a year if I was lucky. 🙄 I'm going with the fossil Julianna next.
Hey um is the fitbit salt water proof ty
Spotify and sleep score have been available on the Versa for quite a while now, so it's nothing new to the Versa 2.
By the way you need Spotify Premium for it to work
I dont understand what you mean like you cant use it to control stuff like workouts but will come by the end of the year. So if I get a versa 2 now I have to get a new versa 2 at the end of the year just so I can control my workouts on my Fitbit through Alexa?
I think the added features would come by a software update.
how accurate is it? my versa used to legit count 10,000 ghost steps a day which completely made it unusable... severely inaccurate calorie burn, distance, etc...
Not a fan of the OLED display. Was hoping for a microLED.
Thats cool
Can you use map my run with this?
Does the Versa 2 has internal music storage so I can go running without my phone?
I mean can you download UA-cam music from the App
Are these still a thing?
Is Spotify versa 2 only?
Can this have UA-cam music on it?
Interesting watch. but without GPS it makes the Spotify feature useless... If you have to bring your phone for running why would you listen music on the watch ..
Even with the phone the current "connected GPS" is such a joke.
I’m switching to garmin
Chinese tariffs go into effect Sept 1 for USA shoppers at 12:01 a.m. Happy shopping today if you want to avoid a higher price adjustment. It will be interesting to see what happens! Thanks for the tariff wars! (Said no one.)
Are they still gonna give software updates for the first versa
Probably yes. That's what they do with all their devices
I’m buying it on Sunday 14th
Does have NFC?
No built in GPS again? That's a big no no for me.
emeres yeah, I did not update my blaze (no gps) because the new releases that feature gps are ugly, I was expecting the versa 2 with GPS and I am disappointed, I am almost changing the brand as GPS turned out to be important
Why is the gps so important? (Serious question)
@@batumtss1272 It gives you an option not bring your phone on a run.
@@batumtss1272 In my case, I do a lot of football focused run (eg: 3K at 90% of my top speed, lets say 18KM/hr). Therefore, holding the phone during the run or putting on the phone holder, never holds it steady and keep falling. So, in my case, using the watch only, I just worry about the run and get the precise route and elevation during my run and get a more precise data without my phone. I already run with my Blaze (no GPS) without my phone and it was not precise, it was actually terrible .
His reviews are becoming addictive they r so good and I have now watched the same video twice! U had me at "Hello" already!😍
My wife and I each purchased the Fitbit Versa awhile ago when they first became available. I didn't use mine right away. When I went to use it about a year later it would not work. Being a big Fitbit Fan, I went and bought another Fitbit Versa II. A little while later, after out of warranty , my wife's stopped working. (would not sync with phone). I noticed that the Versa II had a different charger?? After my Versa II was was out of warranty it stopped syncing also. Now I have three non working Versa's and two chargers and many bands. I was so disgusted that I am also done with Fitb. I sold my last 3000 shares of stock at a loss.
There is scrolling issue in Fitbit Versa 2 , I bought 2 months back and now issue started, I can't scroll the screen. Any one know how to resolve this error/issue. or it's a fault of Fitbit Versa 2 watch?
torn...looks like a interesting option but had bad reaction to the charging pins on the first versa and they dont look to have updated the design
tamaz125 I wish to see a round shaped Fitbit.. 🤔
How about battery replacement...
Can you reply back to messages on this? Or is it still the automatic simply message replies?
I have read in some article that you can reply via voice
ugh i need a watch for running. i was going to purchase the versa, but i guess i'll wait for the second one, but i'll probably wait for christmas since I don't wanna pay for it lol
For running, you're better off with a Garmin
I just bought a Versa yesterday afternoon, at midnight Sunday the readings zeroed out , I went to bed at 130am and when I woke up at 9am I checked first thing on how many calories I burned and it said 770 calories burned, that can’t be right, how can I have burned that much
Stop sleepwalking, lol
If Fitbit made loading music easier maybe I’d get a Versa 2 but that’s all. I don’t use voice command for anything except my car’s voice command when I’m driving, so Alexa on my Versa or phone is irrelevant to me.
Who wants the Alexa spy for the CIA on your wrist all day.
I love the Fitbit versa 2 I’m so excited to get ☝️ one I honestly think it’s a competitor to the Apple Watch Series 3 I honestly would pick this one it is way cooler It has Alexa built in five day battery life Spotify support compared to Apple Music one day battery life and Siri on the Apple Watch Series 3 I honestly think Fitbit versa2 is way better.⌚️📱📲⌚️
Does anyone see the issue using the Alexa button? While pressing with your thumb, your opposing index finger covers the speaker! #uxfail
Does anyone have any idea what type of glass that versa 2 has. Thanks
Its Gorilla Glass
2 weeks ago, my Samsung Gear Sport was broken, so I bought fitbit inspire HR, because I think I might change my mobile from Samsung to other Android phones. But it was an awful decision as the fitbit device always pop up too many bugs, always auto recognize me doing exercise while I'm sleeping/sitting/typing, even at toilet. It's always vibrating which I don't what happened at all, and the battery life droned to less than one day. And the screen always displayed two interfaces together. Last week, it was vibrating again at 4am in the morning while I was sleeping, so finally I decided to return this troublesome device and get my money back. I complained to fitbit and they admit it's the product problem. And even when I returned it, I cannot turn off the device! I never got this issue with any other brands, I literally bought a brand new buggy device. Don't trust fitbit anymore with their overpriced and buggy devices. Luckily the day after I returned the fitbit, Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 just launched in Singapore. So I'm back to Samsung again, and it's actually cheaper than Gear Sport when I bought the Gear Sport.
this or amazfit gts?
I was so excited for a new watch to come out, but it’s another watch without GPS..😪
Wait for the ionic 2, or just buy the first ionic. I have one and, besides being slower than I like, it's great
I bought the versa when it came out and for 6 months it worked great but then Fitbit changed stuff on their app and now my versa is no longer compatible to my Samsung note 8 so I am out $200.00. Not important to Fitbit. They told me to upgrade my phone to the 9 or 10. Yeah I'll be sure and fork out a couple thousand for a new phone and then I can use my versa. It sucks
Fitbit should have a mic and the bluetooth to connect to your phone and be able to play music without earbuds
👍good watch
No ecg oh no.
Am excited to buy but need ecg future and 2.5inches Screen next Fitbit Versa 3 I hope 10days Battery Life and Camera future also.
I need this in my life! I need all the motivation to get my fat butt up and move!🤣
Why not Apple watch😎???
sammy davis ur paying for a name, fitbit is better for fitness apple is good for being mainstream and trendy
@@brucewhitemusic9733 This watch looks pretty cheap, the apple watch looks expensive (and is expensive)
Why not GPS. They didn't have it in earlier generations too. Bizarre reallyy!!!
I have the black Fitbit Versa 2
What's the point to have spotify if you don't have gps so you need to bring your phone when you go run?
Selected Spotify and Deezer songs are stored offline on the watch, so you dont need to bring your phone.
@@malinyamato2291 without gps how can i track my run? So you always need to have your phone with you
@@Lordsheva80 you mentioned spottily which is unrelated to GPS. In case of GPS , yes, you have to bring your phone. Note, I have tried Versa with connected GPS and it worked terribly. Fitbit charge 3 however handles connected GPS much better, so far without any probs.
@@malinyamato2291 It's not so difficult to understand. If you go running you usually need GPS for tracking purposes. If you don't have it on the smartwatch you need to bring your phone so why I need to stream music from watch and not from the phone? Otherwise what's the scope of having a watch? I hope to be clear now.
@@Lordsheva80 I understand your instance of rationale. I was also disappointed with Versa 2 not having an inboard GPS. I seriously hope that Versa 2 wont inherit the problems from Versa such as useless GPS connect and terrible music from Deezer.
Can you reply to messages using Alexa?
Robert Elkins If you have a android device.
So is everyone waiting for the new Apple Watch announcement before ordering the Versa 2?
Apple Watch gonna be worth it IMO
Rudy Amid series 4 is already really good
@@user-fz4mv3bk4z Battery life is my only problem with Apple Watch. I can't even use it to keep track of my sleep since it has to be charged overnight.
Rudy Amid you are partially correct. Lol. I’m just waiting for the new Apple Watch announcement. Every time I came close to getting a Versa I looked at the features first and changed my mind. I don’t think this one will win me over either. No GPS is a bit of a thing. I like being able to answer calls and messages on my smart watch along with fitness tracking.
Rudy Amid I do agree, I’m getting about 2 days of use on my series 4 before needing to charge. Sleep tracking is possible but very annoying to do because it’s not built in
My Fitbit versa special edition is randomly showing/stop showing alerts from my phone, I've tried all the truble shooting from Fitbit and I tried it on different phones, this is a built-in issue that Fitbit never address, that's why I'll never get a cheap smartwatch.
AVI F mine does this as well. Sometimes notifications also don’t clear even when I have cleared them
Is your device(s) on the officially supported device list. If not that could be why.
GPS?
I really wish Fitbit would just release a basic, minimal display, and *THIN* watch... No more than 8mm thick...
Dont bother with the larger fitbits. They aren't worth your dollars because I owned a versa for less than 4 months and it was off my wrist half the time because how Painful it was to use. Music was restricted to spotify or if your lucky for you phone to pair properly or downloaded on pc which hast to have bluetooth. My versa didn't connect to the pc at all and so did my phone in 4 months. I owned the ionic and had the same issues.
The versa 2 is not a significant upgrade in design or software but mere speed increase and a monthly subscription. I made the decision to purchase the new Samsung active 2 because of its style, responsiveness, and flexibility in customization that was fluid to compete with apple watch. However the versa and ionic is like a toy or a demo and isnt to the quality standards in terms of price. Value wise the Fitbit charges are most likely to be the run for your money back then however older smart watches or renowed watch brands also created Google watches for 100-150 mark so be aware of what you purchase.
I like the Fitbit versa 2
Bet it’ll still take hours to update
