He is not safe around the young competitors like gymnasts. Attending the olympics is a privilege not for child rapists. I would be ok if he was never allowed in. The 12 year will suffer all her life. What's wrong with this women? The girl was 12 and he was 19. He was old enough to know what he was doing and to compare it to people taking drugs is disgusting. Not to mention he probably has done it more than once and will continue to. These types of people are predators and this woman is trash in my view. I hope she has no kids.

Oh dear 😮 the woman has zero empathy or sympathy. Shocking😡. The child is traumatised for life.
I suggest Paula go down her local centre and listen to the woman surviving the henious act

For most crimes, I’d agree. Perhaps even if he was 16/17 and she was 15… but he was 19 and she was 12!? Nah mate.. does she know these details!?

The logical extension of the argument being put forward by people who say he shouldn't be allowed to compete, is that all criminals should serve whole life sentences, because they can't possibly be rehabilitated.
But that cannot be right. I agree with Paula, he has served time for the crime he committed, and I understand he also voluntarily submitted himself to counselling. There is no reason he shouldn't be allowed to at least try and move on with his life.

@@tryingmybest9819 It absolutely is; it highlights the fallacy of the position that somebody who committed a crime and served the sentence should then spend the rest of their life away from society.
